Aroma: Moderate malt and hops. Malt is mostly pale. Some fruity esters, lemon. Hops are bitter and pine, some citrus.

Appearance: Light gold, high clarity. Lots of bubbles rising. Head is clean white in color. Good retention and tons of lacing.

Taste: Lots of pine and citrus grapefruit hops. Mild alcohol. Moderate pale malt, bready, mildly toasty. The hops get a tiny bit harsh at the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body. Mild carbonation stings a bit. Feels creamy but finishes quite dry.

Overall: Better than average IPA. Full of malt and hop flavor.

Pours a mild gold with a very thin head into my glass.

Aroma consists of piney hops and some biscuit malt. Pretty simple

The malt show smore than the hops on the tongue. Balanced. Crisp

Mouthfeel isn't much to write about. Not offensive though.

An excellent ipa that should please fans of the style

Poured an amber-colored body alongside a 1 finger head. Fast retention and fair lacing.

S- Grassy/floral, dank resinous grapefruit, spices, cracked pepper, bready, apricot, candy-like sugar.

T- Strong hints of grapefruit. hoppy, earthy, a touch of alcohol in the finish. Again, the candy-like flavor sticks to the palate and invites you for another drink. The finish is very bitter, but is complemented by the sweet candy like presence.

M- Medium to high carbonation, medium bodied, and the finish is not the usual dry of "higher" IBU ipa's.

A tasty and refreshing American IPA. Easy to enjoy and if you like hops, this is for you.

Pried off the twist-off cap (fail) of a 12oz bottle and poured it into a snifter. Best by 6/15/12.

A: Pours a light glowing citrus amber color with a short lived finger of bright white head that faded into a wispy scum leaving a few streaks of lace down the glass.
S: Light on the nose with a few notes of pine, onion hops, and pale malts. Smells pretty straightforward, but I wish it was just a little stronger.
T: Better tasting than the nose with clean flavors of simple piney hops and lightly roasted malts. The finish is grainy and the aftertaste has a note or two of lemon and onion. The onion isn’t strong though and doesn’t hinder the drinkability.
M: Medium body, clean mouthfeel with fizzy and scrubbing carbonation. Finish is smooth and refreshing.
O: A no-frills beer. Easy to drink and light in flavor. Not my favorite but I’ve been known to order this now and again.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that never completely faded away and left some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: The nose has a mélange of orange and grapefruit citrus aromas—neither one stands out in particular.
T: Like the smell, the taste has citrusy flavors and has a moderate to high amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Despite all of the hops, this beer is rather balanced by the underlying malts so the citrusy flavors and bitterness is not overpowering.

A: half finger head on a amber with golden hues body.

S: very malty with some musty hops providing mostly orange and lemon citrus notes.

T: the hops drop off a bit in the flavor with mostly pine notes from the hops but also a subtle citrus sweetness. nice malt presence.

M: medium body and moderate carbonation.

Overall: not a bad IPA. Not very memorable as there is a disappointing degree of hops in the flavor. More APA like.

12 oz bottle from Trader’s Joe. Pours deep golden-orange with a short lasting white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, supported by caramel malt and orange fruit. Body is medium-full and tangy. A lot of citrusy hops, balanced by caramel malt and ripe fruit. Long finish is mostly dry. Nicely balanced, easy drinking IPA.

Excellent IPA just a bit to thick, I like a crisp IPA, so it's a bit preference, but it just popped into 3rd in my giant beer bottle collection. I suppose that's a giant victory. It arrived in Market Basket today so I had to give it a shot. I figure it must be fresh to have a tag reading "new."

Appearance - Pours a clear honey color with a white, finger width head, poor retention, and a resulting spotty lace.

Smell - Spicy, peppery hops.

Taste - Follows the nose, and then some. Spicy, peppery notes. Citrus undertones. Floral. Decent malt backbone. Aftertaste is a touch sweet, and a touch bitter.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium body. Despite the appearance, has a wonderful carbonation which leads to a crisp, clean finish.

Overall - This isn't quite a top tier IPA, but it's exceptional in it's uniqueness. It's not especially bitter, but it's certainly hop forward and delicious as all hell. Will buy again!

Poured directly out of bottle into pint glass, pours a dark yellow with slight tint of amber, smells a little mild for an IPA but it does not have a high IBU so i cannot expect much hoppy smell.

Taste is very refreshing, many hints of fruit and floral hop flavor all while not being overpowered with pure hops like other IPAs. i am not usually a huge fan of IPAs but on this one the flavors really shine through, and mix well with the hoppy flavors. overall a great refreshing beer that is packed with flavor, and is really great on any day hot or cold.

Full Sail IPA has a thick, white head, lots of lacing rings, only a few streaming bubbles, and a slightly hazy, but mostly clear, yellow-orange appearance. The aroma is of oranges, orange peel, and bread. Taste is of citrus, sugar, orange pulp, unsalted crackers, and it has a pretty low bitterness for a 60 IBU rating. There is a bitter, grapefruit aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light to medium and fluffy, and Full Sail IPA finishes semi-dry and easy drinking. Overall, this a nice, nice beer.

A - golden color with a thick head that stuck around

S - very subtle hops aroma

T - the taste matched the aroma, the hops are very subtle for an IPA

M - nice, crisp, very drinkable

O - refreshing and not overpowering, I could see myself drinking several of these on a hot summer day. Could be the beer aficiando's Budweiser?

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Clear gold in color, with a nice billowy head of off-white foam.
Aroma-Faint citrus
Taste-Floral, herbal hops, toasted malt.
For an American IPA the hops are pretty muted and subtle, more like an English IPA. I expected a little more out of this beer. It's not horrible, just not great, in my opinion.

12 oz. bottle with no date

nose is wheat and hay with the hops in the background. less hop than expected. taste is subdued. more of a straight up pale than an AIPA. malt and bitter is what comes through at first. hops don't come in till later. very floral but in the background. maybe more subtle than subdued. knocking it down a bit because of a somewhat unpleasant, lingering, aftertaste. this is a very crisp beer, with the right amount of carbonation.

The taste of this beer left me puzzled, definitely not what i was expecting. It's not bad but very middle-of-the-road, especially put up against the likes of Surly, Stone, etc. Wouldn't mind finding it in a cooler on a hot day, tho.

Aroma is soft - more of a malt presence than expected. Biscuits, grain... hops aren’t too agressive but neatly balanced. Pours a golden orange with a finger of creamy white head. Initial flavor is abstract and bitter, far less balanced than the nose. Not bad though. This could certainly pass as a American pale. Probably wouldn’t seek this out but I’ll likely try the rest of the line-up since they’re on sale at Zipp’s :)

A- light golden straw with finger of fluffy white head. Minimal lacing.

S- muted hops blend well with tropical citrus.

T- well balanced, not overly hoppy with a good blend of citrus tropical fruits.

M- very well balanced, nice medium body and was very smooth.

O- decent beer, I prefer hoppier IPA's but this had a nice blend. Would have again, nothing special though. May be good for those who don't usually like IPAs.

Aroma is fairly faint, with notes of citrus and herbal hops....but really not much there.

Upon first drink, there is a fairly small bitterness for style...actually I'd say it's at the level of many APA's rather than IPA's. Decent sweet maltiness on the body with a note of citrus present and a small biscuit presence. A faint note of grain appears at the finish of the drink along with a little bitterness at the finish as well but pretty small here.

Definitely a tame IPA all around. Drinkable, sure....perhaps an "entry" beer for those not initiated or those who aren't feeling like a full-flavored IPA.

Pours a medium golden amber with a white head. Aroma and taste of sweet caramel malt some fruity and citrusy notes with some earthy piney hops. A medium body with moderate carbonation. Finish is caramel malt some citrus and grapefruit notes with some bitter hops ending, can use a bit more hops. Overall an average, but drinkable IPA.

im surprised this is rated so low here. i think its a pretty darn good ipa, if a bit less hoppy than most. poured a magnificent amber color with a thick foamy head crowning well above the rim of my english pint glass. smells more like a traditional american pale ale than an ipa, which might expain its low raitings. balanced malt bready tones with a sticky hop aroma. flavor is similar, there more subtle hops than a lot of assertive west coast ipa varieties. it has a sticky fresh hop sort of palate, but not too robust at all. mouthfeel is nice, well carbonated and a nice fuller body, but really drinkable and excellent with bbq chcken pizza. a very good daily drink, especially at 3 dollars a pint!

Appearance- A- yellow, medium carbonation

Note: This review was a re-post from my former account, jmkratt, which was hacked and I lost all my reviews...sorry for the redundancy.

Poured from 12oz twist-off bottle to pint glass at The Red Lion.

A - The beer pours a golden clear color with 2 solid fingers of white head with very good retention and lacing.

S - Rather disappointed in the lack of aroma here. Very slight to detect a lot of hop character or caramel malts or anything. Not what I would expect from a west coast AIPA.

T/M - The beer starts clean with the cistrus hop flavors I missed in the aroma. The middle of the beer emerges with a grain/bready character in the specialty malts that balances out the beer.
The beer finishes crisp and clean and medium bodied with a slight bitterness that lingers for a short while.

D - Drinkable.

Overall this beer wasn't what I expected in a lack of aroma. It's certainly not bad but and better than average but only slightly so. Don't think I will be coming back - too many other great IPAs available.

pours an apple juice color into a dull amber with copper tint. half inch head that creeps away quicker than it presents itself. decent, frothy, coated lacing.

smells mighty wheaty, hints of oak, undertones of pear of peat.

bold, hoppy wheat. on-bringing and aftertaste are that in the same. that is, nothing to write home about.

a decent ipa, more bold than crisp or unique. more staunch than doable or enjoyable.

A golden nearly yellow orange color. Far lighter than normal for the style. A thin white head that coasts the glass with lacing.

Sharp citrus notes without much malt to speak of. This seems a touch off but I can't place it.

Citrus dominate, grape fruit and orange peel, with a strange bready malt finish. This seems to miss the boat perhaps too close to a pale ale, but I'm not sure where this one is missing.

There's a bit of a bite to the finish, but beyond this it isn't anything special. Rather mild and sessionable.

Pours a brilliantly clear amber sunshine. Modest carbonation. A thick and dense off white head about 1/2 in. tall, thats long lasting and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma has a fine hop bouquet that smells of floral and fruits. Malts are light and in reserve. Taste is hoppy but not overbearingly so. Moderation is the key here. Malts are light and serve really only to act as a platform for the hops. This beer has medium weight on the palette. Its bitter but seems only around the edges. Its dry and clean, no aftertaste.
I think this is a pefect example of an IPA.
It's good to drink hop bombs. It's good to drink more malt forward English style IPA's. But, it's also good to have middle of the road. This beer is hoppy but not much, malt but not much, bitter and refreshing... it's in there.
This beer was good to the last drop.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a darker amber with a frothy head that dissipates quickly, but leaves very nice lacing. Has a nice sweet aroma with some citrus smell. Tastes very nice, with a good compliment of hops and , very balanced, however, with enough hops to have a little bite. It has a great mouthfeel and amount of carbonation. Definitely one I could drink all night. A great beer overall.
