Touristy. Family friendly. A “safe” place to visit in Hood River. We stopped on a Saturday around 11:30 and the lunch rush was starting. A handful of families were having lunch and groups of people were enjoying beers looking at the awesome view.

Plenty of beers on-tap, great variety. My fresh hop pilsner was killer!

We didn’t eat. The food did look good, for what that’s worth…

The vibe, while, touristy, was nice… warm and laidback. Our bartender was quick and friendly.

I’d visit again and recommend it. Not a beer geek destination but if you are in the area you’d be foolish not to visit.

Amazing view of the Columbia River Gorge.

Pretty attentive and friendly service.

I really enjoyed my steak sandwich at very reasonable prices.

I see 17 beers on tap.

I would recommend going here. I had a great lunch, and then I hung around for the afternoon.

I recommend the tour. This brewery has a great history.

this is a pretty popular place to get a bite to eat, it's always packed and often there is a pretty big line waiting. lots of families with small children. that said, it is pretty busy and loud, not a place to go with a hangover. the food is pretty decent, mostly burgers and typical pub fare. the beers are mediocre. service is pretty good, for as busy as the wait staff is they are pretty attentive. but for all the good places to eat and drink in hood river i'd have a hard time justifying going back.

The Full Sail brewpub feels more like a commercial restaurant in a tourist town than a brewery. It’s a really nice space, but it’s more for families than people traveling around scouting out beer haunts. After sitting at the bar for a while, I had a strong urge to go antiquing.

The beer is absolutely solid. The place is solid. There is nothing wrong with it. There is just nothing special about it. (And there's other better places that are more meant for beer dorks , like Double Mountain and Pfriem).

A: We stopped in on a busy Saturday shortly after they opened and it was already very busy with a table wait of 3o minutes. Eeek! I could tell there were lots of visitors like myself and beer rookies abouyt the place. Busy, talkative but not loud but sordove cramped. The view was ok. Decor was pub/brewery style and it was a clean, well lit place.

Q: Well, I only had a half pint of 2012 Old Boardhead but it was quaility for what its worth. Quality and Full Sail, well, enough said here. Never really had a terrible beer from them.

S: Ah. Girls working the tables were busy, cramped and lacking on beer knowledge.

S: I give them credit here. they did have a good selection, of pub only drafts, vintage drafts, standards and seasonsals. They also plenty of bottles to go, many vintage Old Boardheads.

F: Was pretty good, priced well. No issues.

This was my third free-form (go where ever without a real schedule) trip to Oregon, and my traveling companion's first trip there where I introduced her to Full Sail Beers & Ales. After looping the state down the coast, then Crater Lake, then back up through Bend, on to Hood River we found ourselves at the Full Sail Brewery a little late for the tour so we settled into the Pub for some food and of course something to drink.

It was a quiet Fall afternoon on a weekday and we were the only ones in the pub. Our beertender/waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable about Full Sail, and helpful in helping us sample a variety of brews. I had a pretty tasty sandwich and everything was very reasonably priced. I couldn't resist picking up a set of Pub Glasses while I was there. The view of the Columbia River is beautiful, even on a somewhat gray and blustery day. I will be going back again the next time I'm flying in or out or Portland as it isn't that far (about 60 miles, or about an hour) from PDX airport on a gorgeous drive (with scenic waterfalls) out I-84 to the scenic town of Hood River and the Full Sail Brewery.

Well worth the visit.

My primary reason for going to Full Sail was to take the brewery tour. While waiting for the tour my wife and I ate lunch in the pub and found it to be quite a pleasant place. The high point is the view over the Columbia River. The pub itself reminded me a bit too much of the standard sports bar you could find in virtually any corner of the world. The food was decent (not a ton of vegetarian options on the menu, unfortunately) and there were several beers available in the taproom that Full Sail does not make available outside the pub. Overall I am not a huge fan of Full Sail's beers, but some of the limited releases and taproom-only choices were quite interesting.

The tour was interesting, although the brewery was not functioning when we were there. The guide was great and since there were only a few people on the tour there were lots of opportunities to ask questions. The only downside was that they no longer have free tastings at the end of the tour... apparently too many people were "abusing" the policy. So now they hand out free pint glasses. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Stationed up on the south bank of the columbia river, Full Sail has a spectacular view. The interior of the bar is clean and tidy. Outside deck area is very comfortable as well. I stopped in with some friends to get a bit of lunch the. Went on the brewery tour. Our tour guide was a nice guy, though at times it's seemed as if he had done it so many times the words were beginning to loose their meaning. We had a small group so we got him a little detailed from his talking points and were able to carry some cool conversation about full sail and thier beer. Back up at the pub, the tour guide popped in, tha Jed us for taking the tour and gave us some little trinkets and brewery swag. The bar offers almost all of Full sail's offerings as well as one or two pub specials. Their whole lineup is solid, so if you're visiting from out of state, try a sampler. The server was a young woman who was attentative and pretty quick with service. (though I haven't been there at one of the more busy times) food is on par with places like Deschutes public house, it's better than average pub food.

Stopped in here briefly during our Hood River day trip, desiring to give more time to the smaller names of microbrewing in the area. Still very glad we took the time to visit Full Sail, as their Black Gold was among the best brews I sampled in our short week in Portland/Hood River/Corvalis.

Atmosphere is pretty contemporary / casual dining / family friendly, with an obvious nautical hybridish type theme. A small bar seats hmm maybe 10 people. Tables and chairs and an outside dining area, but there was still a line of patrons waiting outside to be seated, and this was mid-afternoon. Service at the bar was just fine. There were about 10 beer selections on tap, as well as house beers available in bottles, available also for take-out in the merch area. Prices seemed decent. Didn't get a chance to sample or even look at the food, as we had lunch earlier at Double Mountain.

Full Sail is definitely worth a visit (especially if Black Gold is on), although I prefer the more laid back atmosphere of the nearby Double Mountain and to a greater extent, Big Horse.

First of all one of the better tours I've been on was here, as you got both the history of the brewery and also a somewhat more detailed account of what goes into beer (generally on tours I get one or the other). I visited the brewpub the night before the tour and judging by the staff initially it seemed to be highbrow... a perception that was misguided. Struck up some healthy conversations with the locals and tried a great barrel aged beer amongst others in a solid line up. I liked the selection which seemed to have a few rarities, but considering their beer isn't sold in Wisconsin I'm unsure. I really appreciate the grass roots basis on which the brewery stands and hope to one day regularly buy their beers. For now though, I will have the memory of a pleasant visit to one of Oregons most finest breweries.
