Bottle from the SAQ singles bin:

Pale gold weak head lively carbonation....

Aroma of grain husk and vanilla, some grassiness....

Weak mouth feel, some malt up front lame hopping clean fast finish....

...This is a new low standard in Euro lagers.

30cl Bottle brought back from a mission in Holland: best before May 2013, poured into a Duvel glass on 10 Dec 2012.

It was better than the Hertog Jan beer I had next, but it didn't have to rty hard!

Typical Pilsner look: golden, clear and with a white head that couldn't wait to leave.

Grainy nose with a crisp and semi-sweet taste. Nothing sets it apart from thousands of simular Pilsner/Lagers around the world. Refreshing and non-taxing on the taste buds, un-offensive and ideal to quench your thirst after a days graft: but not a beer the chase after.

It's good to see the standard European taste of pilsner extending to the Dutch inspired islands in the southernmost Carabean sea. The full flavor that's the fame of bohemian pilsners is a far cry from the light industrial lagers that I feared.

A standard light straw color captures the eye with bright clarity and exuberant carbonation. The bubbles race to the top of the glass like champagne, but then standing tall to create a fuffy cotton white head with semi-firm retention and lightly sticky lace.

Pilsner malt is front and center as the scent of the beer shows light grainy sweetness, cracker-like breads, yeasty bread dough, and mild vegetal undertones. The full pilsner scent captures a very light buttery note that makes me read "fullness" into the fold. An herbal hop balance gives a mild floral and earthy note that creates a notion of honeysuckle, apples, pears, and light berries.

The taste is crisp and zesty, but still keeps the taste of pilsner malt the focus. Bready crackers, light corn syrup, and mild buttery tones allow a semi-firm pilsner taste to linger into finish. But before that, the balancing hop taste of floral/fruity tones, freshly torn tea leaves, and muddled grasses provide an even keel earthy counterpart before turning spicy and bitter to finish.

Medium-light in body, the beer would shed its malt sweetness sooner to usher in a crisper finish, but the cereal grain sweetness and mild oils provide an extra element of fullness, if ever so slightly. But a late palate of fleeting malt, hop dryness, and minty alcohol warmth closes the beer in true pilsner fashion.

This Czech-style pilsner still provides a mostly crisp and clean refreshment, but the residual yeast character of corn and butter provides more rounded flavors and textures before doing so.

Poured from a bottle 300 ml.

Very clean yellow colour, with almost no bubbles. Nice white 2 finger head. Smell not that good, smells of hay. Thin bodied on palate Tastes as so many other Dutch beers, nothing distinctive. I wouldn't mind it on a hot summer day as it seems a great thirts quencher.

I bought a bottle of this upon paying a visit to a friend of mine on the other side of the German/Dutch border.

I don't really have a lot to say about this beer, it was a pretty typical Dutch pilsener in my opinion. I enjoyed it however. The taste was good but perhaps a little weak, a good pilsener to drink cold while sitting around on a summer day.

I had a draft of this on my recent visit to Amsterdam. Whenever I see something I haven't tried I always get a glass or bottle of it. I don't think I was as turned off by it as many of the other reviews. Overall, it was typical of a not so interesting european light lager/light pilsner (i.e. Heineken).

Poured a very light/pale color with a fizzy head. Aroma was somewhat non existent. Flavor was ok, not great but certainly a nice session style beer.

Pale gold, almost transparent. Nose of cereal with a touch pilsener specific course. Mouth watery but quite an aftertaste a bit bitter when one feels a slight hop that seems pretty dirty to taste. A little roughness in the drink at the water can be. Easy to drink but that is far too slight, even in its category, to qualify for the tasting.

I know this beer for a long time. It used to be my housebeer for the warm summers. A good and honest Dutch beer.

I drank this Dommelsch yesterday at a 80's party in Tilburg. It was a pity that we got the beer in a plastic glass.

Good tap with little carbonation. Nice white head. Dry but also a smooth taste. You can drink this beer all night without any problem.

A: Orangy, tea esque, with little carbonation and head.

S: Sweet malt. Something citrusy but bitter like a lemon seed. Slightly herby background

T: The alcohol is more apparent than I would expect from this ABV and a pilsner. And that flavor is conjoined with this mild sweetness. Kind of a strange flavor which makes me wonder if I'm tasting pesticides (probably not). Caramel and honey. Apple juice.

M: Drying. No carbonation.

D: It's a strange one. Not as strange as I'm making it out to be, but I wouldn't jump to this one. With that said, it not bad.

Regional brewery producing for people who want easy drinking with their bbq and sports-on-tv, and in bars.
I needed some beer for preparing batter for frying fish, taking the opportunity to review something I wouldn't have bought otherwise.

Golden clear, modest carbonation, modest head, but good lacing.

Smell is faint malty, yeasy. A bit funky.
Equal faint taste, with a bit of hops. funky and dry finish.

Easy and smooth, refreshing.
Easy drinkable, but also very boring.

This is pretty much the same as any other lager. This one is very comparable to Heineken and Grolsch.
