Had it on tap a week ago.
Pale copper (from what I could tell) in color with a small head. It was dark outside.
Big toasty/bread aroma.
Pretty sweet. Flavors include lots of fruity esters, lots of malt, caramel, some spice. Nothing overwhelming yet nothing outstanding.
Slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Sweetness kind of reduces drinkability. Pretty good beer.

Served in an Aventinus glass last night at Blue Palms in Hollywood for six dollars, also had this at Beachwood BBq a month or so ago, tap list said this was 5.7%
A-Light golden orangish brown color, do not get the whole purple part of the name, definitely not close to that color in appearance, probably something with much deeper meaning that I cannot figure out, one inch soapy white head, some decent retention, minimal lacing
S-Hops, floral accents, some strong malts, grassy accents, strawberries bit of skunkiness, citrus notes, and light banana
T-Starts off with some hops, little bit of dryness in them but mostly earthy, in the middle is bread, chewy malts, lots of and caramel in the middle, mild citrus and hops in the aftertaste at first but it changes a lot when it warms, wish it was not as dry in the beginning, not really fitting to its style at any point but still a good brew regadless, weird balance of flavors but it seems to work
M-Slightly dry, sweet, and malty, lots of caramel onces it warms, medium body, moderate to high level of carbonation, taste is crisp and does not last too long
D-Could drink a few glasses, no alcohol in the flavor, weird aftertaste after a while hurts the drinkability in the end, cannot really explain it but it is a mix between earthiness and herbs, still pretty smooth and light
Not like a traditional Maibock, certainly more hoppiness and not nearly as sweet as others I have had in the past, Chris had mentioned getting some cardboard in the finish, definitely smelled that way, might drink again, would not say it is great but definitely interesting, worth trying
