A low alcohol, creamy and mildy hoppy brew. Low carbonation dominates, with earthy and mellow malt tones. Great interpretation of the style.

A bit flat, but it works for the ESB. I do not find the normal citrusy American hops, maybe they have reworked the beer. Not sure what they are using, but the earthy tones seem more present to me.

Wow, a nice beer from Rubicon, with a better and more desirable hop presence than their IPA, which I found unimpressive. 22oz for 3.69 from a Folsom, CA store, I liked this beer quite a bit and would recommend it at that price any day. Very lip-smacking kind of mouthfeel and flavor, a tad syrupy but good nonetheless.

Some (cough Englishmen cough) might consider the amount of evident hop to be a fault for the style.

On-tap at the Beachwood BBQ,

A: Pours a medium amber with an average white head, average retention, light lacing, looks like a standard bitter.

S: Hoppy for the style, grapefruit and malt.

T: Taste is definitely an American take on the style. Lots of citrus fruit - grapefruit and tangerine/orange, malt is bready and lightly toasty.

M: Light carbonation, medium-bodied, too watery for the style.

D: A good bitter, but don't think Fuller's-esque, if this was tasted blind without me knowing the style I would have called it an American IPA. Quaffable, but far from transcendent.
