Consumed 01/29/09 at Blue Palms, Hollywood, CA.

Very clear. Deep amber/coppery hued beer with a thin skin of off-white foam.

Aroma is strong, piney hops.

Flavor follows aroma - hops are prominent and forward: piney and a little spicy. Some caramel malt flavor, but not as much as I would have expected from a DIPA. Bitter on the finish, but not immediately. Drinks smaller than its ABV.

Well carbonated and a little oily on the tongue.

Not world-class, but then, how many beers have you had that are? (505 characters)

At the source

A - Pours golden with a hint of copper and a nice two fingered head. Moderately dissipates to one finger, and leaves light lacing.

S/T - Caramel, honey, flowers and pine.

M - Slightly thin, but well-balanced.

D - Good, I enjoy the malt profile that shines through in this beer. Many DIPAs forget about the malts and focus solely on the hops. (367 characters)
