Visited this Turoni's on the way back from Louisville. Went for lunch on a Tuesday and it was busy, but not over-crowded. An older building with lots of character. Accidentally sat in the smoking half of the pub, but I had a perfect view of the taps so all was good. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick. Four regular beers and a seasonal were on tap that day. Between my girlfriend and myself we has four of the five. The only drawback was the beer being served in very chilled pint glasses. This creating an uninspiring first impression. As I let the beer warm though, I was pleasantly surprised. The mouth feel, body, and aroma of all the beers was great. The appearance was shot, but still really good beers. The second best attribute (behind the beer), was the pizza. Ours was made with fresh ingredients, was the perfect temperature, and was not too pricey. Overall, a great find and I would not hesitate to go back.

A - relaxed place. You can tell they've been there awhile and they are very comfortable. Interesting pictures and paraphanelia completely cover the walls.

Q - Good, quality beers. Only one (the seasonal Helles Bock) that I really, REALLY enjoyed, but they can all stand up and be counted in their respective styles. Very surprising and respectful for a small town with nothing within 100 miles.

S - Nice people.

F - we split a pizza. Their thin crust is awesome. Good toppings. Tasty stuff

V - well i had this on business expense. But good prices. 6 sample beers 3oz each for $3.75!!!

This is a great place, i might just have to go back before my workweek stay is over...

A trip to Evansville is simply not complete without a trip to Turoni's... seriously!

Atmosphere: I really dig the super clean, wooden decor/rustic flair of this place. The bar area, which is just barely spacious enough to service the reams of people who frequent this establishment, has all the taps neatly organized in a row and ready for pouring. Don't be fooled by the narrow entranceway and hallway. This place is surprisingly big towards the back.

Quality and Service: I've always gotten wonderful service here and have always found the servers to certainly have that "grounded in the Midwest" attitude about them that isn't pretentious about anything in any way. The bartender (on the last night I went) seemed to have an opinion about Turoni's beers, but didn't seem to know much about the craft industry beyond that.

Quality of beer: It depends what you order, however, to be honest, I found most of them to be somewhat bland, yet still drinkable. However, I didn't care much for the IPA. The oatmeal stout, on the other hand, was a true gem! NOTE: You can do pitchers here and that's what our family ordered to split during our meal.

Selection: IPA, Light Lager, Brown, Red, Scottish, Oatmeal Stout, and maybe a couple of others. Overall, a very good representation of basic styles. Most importantly though, the beer is fresh and made on premise.

Food: I've eaten at some of the finest brick-oven pizza joints in NYC and am a true junkie for that cracker crust goodnes, but this wipes the floor with most that I've tried in my lifetime. Amazing stuff! Also, try the cheese sticks. You won't be sorry!

Value: The beer runs about $3/pint...Yep, that stunned me silent too. Considering the pizza (even the small ones) are humongous, the prices are more than fair on those as well.

As a quality pizza joint, I honestly can't recommend this place enough. You might as well grab a couple pints of fresh beer while you're at it!

This was a pretty neat place to go for lunch. A big building that tries to make you think you are in an Italian pizzery.

The food quality is fantastic. Some really awesome pizza and lunch specials. Had the margherita pizza which was solid.

Service was good. Server was always there to refill drinks and was knowledgeable and friendly. This alone makes it a place to come back to.

Selection was nice. 6 or 7 beers on tap. Couple rotating ones.

Food was great again like I said. The pizza is awesome and plus they have awesome commercials. haha.

The prices of the beer were great! 3.25 for a pint! wow for craft brew my word if somebody else would take notice...you don't have to charge 5 bucks just because you made it. I'll be back again

I had an excellent visit to Turoni's. I came in through the bar side and sat in the bar area. Very nice atmosphere, with muted lights (still plenty to read by, though) and wood tables and booths.

A server helped me right away and set me up with some beers, as well as getting me a growler to leave with.

They had six of their own beers available, with several styles to choose from, to pretty much meet any mood.

The pizza was excellent (pepperoni and sausage). Very thin and crisp crust with plenty of cheese.

My favorite part was when I walked into the family dining area and could smell the scent of brewing in the air.

Trying to find this place was a comedy of errors (there are TWO "408 Main Street" addresses within one mile as it turns out - take the "N. Main Street" part seriously in the bar's address), but when we did it was well worth it. The walls are lined with pictures of people all over the world displaying Turonis memorabilia, including several servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan, and I can understand why. The pizza is delicious - I wish I could have eaten five meals there rather than the one I could manage. And the beer is quite good, particularly the Blue-Eyed Moose IPA, with an adventurous streak (the black lager was good). The service was a little spotty, but extremely friendly and down-home. This is well worth the 20 mile detour off I-64 if you're traveling through southern Indiana. I wish I passed that way more often now.

Everyone in this neck of the woods knows Turonis has the best pizza anywhere around! The beer is always tasty and appeals to a wide range of beer drinkers, I do wish Turonis would bring in a few other regional craft beers on tap!
Anytime company comes in from out of town they are stoaked on heading down for some amazing pizza and beer! Do yourself a favor if your in the area and stop by the Main street location if you wanna check out their brewing operation, or Weinbach "Forget Me Not Inn" restaurant is cool because Liquor Locker is a great bottle store and it's less than 2 blocks away!

For our 09 fraternity retreat we found ourselves in Turonis instead of the Gerst Haus.
Pros: A totally unique kind of pizza, i can't even really explain it but it is square, has an almost cracker thin crust and some, ahem, interesting topping choices available
-Reasonable prices and you won't leave hungry
-Friendly wait staff (who knew there beer) and great local atmosphere
-Good stout
-Cheap pints woot woot!
Cons: good luck getting a seat on a Saturday night (of course, that's a good sign)
-The beers were a mixed bag...my buddy couldn't finish the blonde ale and gave it to me. I'll drink anything and I was definitely having to work my way through a half pint
-If you don't smoke...well, you're darn near Kentucky and everyone else does. Which made a few of my brothers a little uncomfortable/sick.
