A cloudy pale yellow color with a rather thin white head that leaves no lace.

Tart and lightly lemony smell.

Good amount of sourness going on. Some lemon and a light wheat presence. The sourness is not overwhelming and quite refreshing.

Light bodied and goes down easily.

Had a tall boy of it and had no problem finishing it. This is my first of this style and have to say that it was pretty enjoyable. It was along the lines of a Bell's Oarsman and is a well done brew.

Had this on tap at the Herkimer.

Served in a 23 oz weizen glass with "Gose Spezeill Weizen" printed on the glass. Color is a hazy straw yellow with a lively carbonation. Thin white cap about one finger in width with good retention. It does leave some sticky lacing around the outside of the glass.

The nose is very acidic, with a firm wheat backbone. Very sour and tart, very lemony. This is a combination of a weizen and a berliner weisse, so it's a combination of a wheat beer and a sour beer. That is exactly what it smells like.

This is some tasty stuff. Sour and tart lemons, with a smooth wheat finish. Smooth yet sour, a very nice combination. I wish I could say more, but my previous review got deleted. Needless to say, this is some tasty stuff.

Mouthfeel is light and smooth, with an appropriate carbonatoin level. Drinkability is excellent.

Overall, my favorite offering by far from the Herk. I've ordered this multiple times and it always impresses.

This brew pours a hazy pale yellow-orange color. The head is large, white, and billowy, but recedes quickly into spaarce lacing. The aroma is very tangy with a noticable salty twang. Underneath is a nice wheat and coriander backbone. The taste is as tangy as the aroma, with a nice mild sourness, and a nice crisp saltiness. The mouthfeel is meium bodied with fittingly high carbonation. Overall, this is one of my favorite beer styles, and I am glad to see a local brewpub makine one on a regular basis. I only wish more beers like this were more easily available. I could session this forever.

Served is a big 24 oz. weizen glass with a slice of orange (I left it on the side). This was quite a tasty summer drink. It's described as cross between a Belgian wit and Berliner weisse and I pulled those sorts of flavors out. It appears a hazy yellow-gold with a mellow spice aroma. The flavor was fairly complex, it's tart with a bit of lemon juice, followed by coriander and mellow wheat grains. Yum.

This is worth a trip down to the Herk. Go get it.
