I got this bottle a few months ago from a collegue who is into beer. Thanks a lot Dennis! Best before december 2012.
Poured the beer in my Struise glass, Darkbrown, almost like tea. Little head which disappears relative fast.
Taste is good, no question about that. The combination with caramellic sweetness and the ABV of 13 make this beer a good beer. After the sip there comes some bitteness in the back of my mouth.
I have had one other beer from this brewer which was not tasty; this one is better.
Pleasant smell.

Sebastian from bierkompass.de included this as a freebie, and I think I know why: it's flat. I trust him though, so here goes nothing.
11oz. bottle with November 2009 notched on the label. Probably the "best by date."
Pours an attractive, clear rosewood. Zero carbonation, and no head.
Aroma is fantastic, reminiscent of triple sec and cognac. Notes of oak, vanilla, dark fruit and booze.
Flavor is very hot. This might be the booziest beer I've ever tried. Rich and malty, with a sickly sweet, oaky flavor. Very much like a barleywine. Getting more bourbon in the flavor, as opposed to the other liquors in the aroma. Unfortunately, it does not taste as complex or interesting as it smells. The mouthfeel is completely flat, but despite this utter lack of carbonation, there's good weight and slickness. Alcohol is really too much though.
An intriguing failure of a beer. Maybe this was a bad bottle. I could smell this stuff all day long, but I don't think I could drink more than a 5oz. pour.
