Pours out a clear straw yellow with a head one finger head. Retention is OK as it settles down a thin lace on top of the lager.
There really is not much aroma. It is clean with a faint cooked grains aroma.
The flavor is light with cooked grain and a very mild grassy hop.
Clean and very light body.
There is nothing special about this lager. It is clean yet lacks any kind of flavor.

A standard pour of Bierbrouwerij B.V.'s Oranjeboom yields a straw-yellow body capped by a snow-white fizz that rises tall and falls fast. The head is supported by a moderate amount of carbonation, and therefore manages to stick around a while as a thin ring of foam.
The nose is standard for the style. Malts give off the smell of bread dough complemented by some very mild grassy notes and a touch of black pepper. Metallic aromas are mild, but palpable.
The taste more or less follows the nose. Metallic flavors are mild, but unwelcomely present, in the first sip. My tastebuds must adapt quickly, because they are absent in subsequent sips. A light touch of toasted grain augments the flavor profile. The beer is thin on the palate, a characteristic I'd welcome in summer heat.
Overall, Oranjeboom is a decent macro-style lager that I'd drink again if in the mood for the style. It's certainly much better than most of the macros produced on this side of the Atlantic.
