First had: on tap at Big Bear, Coral Springs, FL

Light golden-brown pour, small off-white head that retained as a thin layer; minimal lacing. Aroma of sugary malts, bubblegum, light banana esters and spice somewhat consistent with the style. Taste was similar, sweet malts, banana and clove, Belgian yeast, but overall lacking in the full flavor of a genuine well-made dubbel. Light-medium body, drinkable in small doses, but nothing I'd want to revisit.

Served on tap into a what I would call a water glass. Poured with
1/4 in head

Smell is all malt and sugar no hop aroma

Very rich sweet malt not real hop profile... Lots of residual sugar flavor

Medium body.... Expected a little more

Good to try but not sure if it will become a regular

Enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub in Coral Springs. Way too sweet, though above-average mouthfeel from wheat, yeast. Using hefe ingredients, so getting the cloves, the bananna, cloying. Pepper, corriander, kitchen sink, sugar, some dark fruit.Way too cold, fizzy carbonation.

Tasted in a 5oz. sampler on tap
A - Poured brown with reddish hue. Tan head falls to a thin skim.
S - bubble gum, yeast
T - Taste follows nose with a bit of spice..clove.
M/F - Medium body with very light carbonation.
D - Pretty nice rendition. Very darn drinkable.

Appearance: Arrived at the table a nice brown color with little head. With little head, there was no lacing, but that can be blamed on the pour.

Smell: Raisins, Belgian yeast, malt... Improved and filled out as it warmed. Vaguely American edges in some way, only 9 IBUs so probably not the hops - interesting.

Taste: Initially served too cold, which made it too crisp. As it warmed, the flavors really fleshed out. Dark fruits, hint of brown sugar, lots of raisin character. Very representative of the style. I wouldn't have guessed 7.5% abv.

Mouthfeel: A little thinner, perhaps, than what I'd expected.

Drinkability: Good.

Pours a dark murky mahogany with a thin tan collar of headcap falling into the corners of the glass. Detectable scents of yeasty (belgian yeast strand I presume) bready aroma. Some dark fruit hints which become more pronounced in the flavor. A ripe banana and bready dough essence meets with a tasty cinnamon and apples slickness. The highest ABV Big Bear beer and 2002 GABF Gold medal winner.
