Ingredients: Oligocene water (artesian well deeper than 200m), caramel, natural whole meal bread aroma, and vitamin C, among other things. "Old Slavic traditional cooling beverage". Brewed since 1848.
Dark reddish copper color, fizzy tan foam lasts all of 5 seconds. Looks filtered, no visible sediment or particles.
Smell is a little musty, sweet, and toasty.
Lightly tart, somewhat sweet, caramel and toast. Fizzy and thin bodied, fairly thirst quenching, which is essentially the purpose of this beverage. Overall it has a little more tartness than most, and slightly herbal sweet notes like Ricola candy. Not bad, not great, a little better than average.
$1.79 single from Rich's Deli.
