Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Very dark chestnut, pours with 2Cm mid-tan head. ps @+5mins, hold very well.
S- Smells feisty, what is this, brandy barrels?
T- Boom, deep, off into deep Brit xmas pudding, dark deep roasty moist fruits. ABV is apparent but subtle as this is.... 8% or so?
F- Deep pungent, very refined and balanced.
O- What a lovely beer. Nothing to add.
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the bottle lables to see what I missed! 8.5% stout, ok, but a damned fine one. Much text on the lable but nothing I can translate... not that I care 300ml of this bottle left...
330ml bottle BB: B12/21 Euro2.60, quite the deal! Bought from BeerMania/Belgium as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.

Dark walnut colour, not much by way of head &etc. Tasty stout, lots of dark fruit, some chocolate, a hint of coffee, no ash. A bit of brininess throws you off initially until you pin down what it is. Nose is fruit, coffee, and malt. A pretty enjoyable drink.

I stumbled on this beer at The Seafood Bar restaurant in Amsterdam. It was served in the proper brewery engraved crab emblem chalice, cool and from the bar tap. What a treat it was to find a dark stout in the Netherlands, where everywhere you see Heineken and Amstel,...which to me tastes like water, since I live in Belgium and am accustomed to dark Trappist brews. The Oyster Stout was a fine companion to my crustacean meal. No, it does not taste like a shucked oyster, the name comes from the fact it is filtered over oyster shells. But you can taste a very mild undertone of oyster flavor after the initial taste of frothy malty, chocolate, sweetness. The waiter told me this was brewed in the Netherlands(shame), but after research I found out it is brewed in my home country of Belgium, outside Antwerp...go figure since some of the best beers in the world are made here!

Foam sinks very fast, making this brew like a coke. Luckily, the other factors compensate very well. A nose full of chocolate, malt and hop, a mouth full of chocolate slowly turning into roasted coffee and a medium-to-full body (this could have been a bit thicker though). Taste lingers well. This stout doens't have outstanding features, but it delivers. Worth a try. Too bad the oysters (oesters) seem to be missing.
