A- pours a murky plummy reddish brown with an extremely dense ecru colored head. Brilliant texture to the foam as it settles (in a reasonable time) down to a thin disk of foamy haze. Broken sheets of lace coat the glass nicely. Clears up as it warms.

S- fruity boozy whiskied aroma full date, fig, raisin, prune, berries, vanilla, caramel, oak, pineapple, fruitcake and a sweetish spiced cookie malty undertone. Earthy, slight citrus. Rubbing alcohol as it warms.

T- strong chocolatey flavor along with the aforementioned dried fruits but much woodier and much less fruity than the aroma. Suggestions of brandy soaked cherries and noble hops with a clean grassy bitterness throughout. Boozy dry and grainy in the finish.

MF- prominent alcohol warmth and dryness. Stinging carbonation is nice but the bubbles feel big. Juicy otherwise.

D- the smell is the high point here. Unbalanced flavor is dominated by alcohol without and fruity tartness and sweetness to compete. Unwelcome bitterness pairs with the booze and bring an odd feel to the meeting. Sweet label with the vine & firearm motif, but the quad behind it is only a full metal jacket at best.

somewhat of a blonde quad, lighter looking, more copper than brown or red, not a ton of head, just a thin tan film. the nose is lighter too, less sweetness and more of a saison yeast aromatic than a belgian one. paler grain too, more of a cereal or cracker vibe than the molasses and honey notes i usually get in this style. the flavors are subtle too on the grain front, with fruity yeast doing about as much flavoring as the grain. i dont find it thin or lacking though, and with how well hidden the alcohol is, i am pleased that its so light, its a very different take on the quad. not a ton of sweetness, but a mild butterscotch finish, and then the yeast dries it right up, its real tasty but again, extremely unconventional as a quad. better as a strong ale i think, but a cool beer nevertheless. hides its booze well and doesnt show sweet, i like that. great bubbles and only a lighter medium on the body. affordable too at just 5 bucks or so per bottle.

A-poured a murky light brown with an off white head that dissipated quickly

S-semi-fruity, but mostly it smelled odd, somewhat like urine

T-fruity with some caramel and a hint of Belgian spice-not very good, especially for the style

M-semi-thick and syrupy

D-not a very good version of the style, so I wasn't disappointed in only having half of a bottle

Overall, I would never drink this again.

(Served in a snifter)
A- This beer pours a slightly dense brown body with a garnet hint at the base and a fizzy porous head of light tan.

S- The baked apple crisp esters have hints of dark brown sugar and some cola notes growing as it opens up. There is a roasted apple skin note in the finish.

T- The dry woody malt flavor leads to an earthy dry bitter note in the finish. Some dry brown sugar hints and dry circus peanut esters come through as it opens aswell.

M- the light mouthfeel has a nice little alcohol prick in the finish supported by a tight little fizz.

O- The nice depth to the nose doesn't quite make it to the taste but it has some nice character and a good gentle alcohol bite to complete the beer. Very nice sipping beer and not the normal quad character.

A: Very clear pour with light orange and chestnut hues, very thin ring of retention, but it shows some leg.

S: Tropical fruit (pineapple and papaya), field berries and hints of cheap, boozy Canadian sherry.

T: Fairly alcohol forward, caramalized raisins, christmas cake (maraschino cherries), candied pineapple, papaya, modest bitterness, light spicing and thankfully not phenolic.

M: Well-attenuated, moderate body has a drying alcohol finish.

O: I think this would age REALLY nicely.
