On tap @ Corner Pub in Reedsburg, served in a tapered pilsner glass. Review from notes.

Thin cap of tan foam, with a sticky ring of lacing at it's edges. Reddish amber body, with slow trails of carbonation visible.

Nutty, woody aroma, with clean malt notes showing through. It retains its Scotch Ale base without letting the bourbon dominate.

Maple, light oak, peat smoke, vaguely grassy/herbal, dry bitterness and a nutty/woody note in the end. Warming hint of alcohol also in the aftertaste. Sweetness, not a clear bourbon taste, but more oak, and mild old char. It's dry with mellow carbonation that foams up a bit with each sip. Nice to try, it's fairly mellow as far as barrel aged beers go (oak chips maybe?). One was enough, probably wouldn't drink more.
