A: Golden clear with medium head retention and lacing.

S: Clean, light floral aroma from medium hoppiness.

T: Very nice medium/light malt backbone. Moderate hop bitterness.

O: Very nice off tap outside Sion, Switzerland. Nice beer and a very good all malt example of a lager.

50cl Can, BBD 14th Sep 2014, poured into an Abbot Ale glass tankard on 15th Oct 2013: finally got my Swiss tick. My son-in-law had a business trip to Zurich and brought back this and another can for me.

Pale golden, clear, bright and clean looking, on top a thin white crown.

Slightly sweet in both aroma and taste: crisp and refreshing with all the usual lager/pilsner/helles attributes. Nothing to make it stand out from all the other brews in this style, but nothing wrong with it either.

This beer is a national emblem in Swizerland, if you go around there you should try. It is nothing special, even is probably the best Swiss beer I have tried. Coulor light yellow, taste a bit metallic, smell clear, good hangover the day after... Definetly buy again

Brought a 500ml can of the Original Lager home to share with friends. The beer pours a typical clear golden color. Grain dominates the scent and taste. There is a hint of hops upfront, grainy and weak in the mouth, mostly carbonation. Mouthfeel is lighter in body and it finishes weak and uninspired. Overall is is just ok.

A: Nice three finger head, lacing is prevalent, and its a very light yellow color.

S: Very malty smell, some hops.

T: Sweet up front with the traditional euro lager malt flavor, not bad.

M: Light bodied lager, very drinkable.

O: Ok euro lager, easy drinking beer.

Look: pours a deep, clear golden color with a large white head.
Smell: Malts, grains, floral, grass, sweet caramel/candy sugar.
Taste: Very sweet. Sweet malts, metallic, caramel with only very light hops in the end.
Mouthfeel: high carbonation, thin body.
Overall: This was the first beer I ever had in Switzerland. I lived there for one year, and already to change beer type the first day. Way too sweet, did they add sugar to this brew?

500ml can poured into Swiss glass (standard kitchenware is all that was available) in Zürich, Switzerland. I acquired the can at a Swiss petrol station. Reviewed live.

A: Three finger head of no real cream, decent thickness, and good retention. Colour is a clear yellow-gold.

Sm: Clean full barley with some cream.

T: Full barley foundation with some pleasant but subtle cream and some bland hops riding atop. Not complex, but refreshing. Well balanced. I wish it were more bold.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Moderately thick - a bit too much so - especially for the style.

Dr: You can down it, it's cheap enough by Zürich standards, and it's alright. A good student beer. I'd sooner try this out of the bottle or off the draught, because it does have potential.

Poured into a plastic tumbler it produces a one inch head with little retention and scant lacing. The appearance is straw and clear. The aroma is of slight nobel hops and malt. The taste is sweet for a lager with little bitterness. The feel is light with a slightly metallic finish.

This is a competently brewed lager, refreshing and enjoyable.

250ml bottle poured in an ordinary glass.

Refreshing beer

A: Pours a pale clear yellow color with a reasonable aired and bubbled head. Reasonable retention
S: Nose is simple as the beer. Very malty. Very grainy and bready. Some hops (not enough)
T: Taste is also simple. Very malty. Metallic. Crispy. Lack some bitterness in the end
M: Very light body. Medium carbonation
D: Very light beer. Easy to drink

I had a few bottles of this at a hotel in Zurich. The beer is light gold color, clear, with a thin finger of head and some dry lace. The aroma is light and malty, on the grainy side but with a little sweetness. It tastes more bready than bitter, not bad at all. Dry finish with good medium-gage body. Recommended as a standard Euro-lager.
