(From notes)

Let's be clear, this is as true to form Euro Pale Lager as to be found, and it's not very good. That being said, it's certainly better than the majority of the Feldschlosschen lineup, and given it's preponderance it can be tolerated when one is desperate for a beer. It's a macro...

Pours with a fluffy white cap and purely clear golden yellow color. Mild/faint hop bitterness in the nose; clean and not too cereal and adjunct driven. A touch of sweetness comes in at the end. Taste is a little grainy, but no vegetal hints which is nice. Clean enough; boring and average, but a little dry. Lighter body with vibrant carbonation. Not a good brew by any means, but drinkable when in a pinch...and when the brew is served ice cold.

Poured from 33 cl bottle.

Apperance: Very light yellow with no head.
Smell: Corn with slight hops.
Taste: Crisp high hops taste.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied but becomes watery.
Drinkability: A refreshing beer for the summer.

Overall: A good beer to choose when you need something refreshing and it's hot outside but not much else. One dimensional hops based beer.

One finger (I have good sized fingers) foamy white head holds for about ten seconds, then slowly disappears. Leaves a decent amount of wet lace behind. Under it all is a beer that one could mistake for a BMC, though it is just slightly darker, with a SLIGHT bit more of an orange hue.

Smells similar to your average American adjunct lager, though maybe slightly deeper and just a bit rounder and fruitier- but not much deeper and rounder.

The flavour is definitely a bit bigger than a BMC. There's a slightly fruity maltiness right up front, followed immediately by a SMALL bit of hoppiness & woodiness. The carbonation then swells (it was always there, tight and fizzy) enough to distract form any real flavour that might follow. That carbonation carries it out to the end. Under it all is a mouthfeel that's slightly thicker than a BMC, but reminds me oh so much of one. There's an aftertaste of corn, slightly gummy.

I'm being quite frank with the higher marks on drinkability. This is good lawnmower beer. A person could drink these all night, but probably wouldn't. I tend to think anyone who's had better beers would get a bid bored with this one after a while.

Honestly, the commercial for this stuff (with the flying penguins) is better than the beer-but that's only because I have a thing for penguins. :)

I really was not excited by this beer much at all.

Be well

On tap at my hotel in Geneva.

Poured a light, clear golden color. Big fluffy white head. Good amound of carbonation can be seen rising. Spotty lacing.

The aroma is very light and non-descript.

The taste is of hops and not too much else. Rather one dimensional. Lingering hops and some sweetness.

Mouthfeel was quite cleansing and light bodied. Overall, a very drinkable beer, quite refreshing. Not very exciting, but not bad for the style.

Pours a gold fizzy yellow with a large carbonated head that disapears quickly. Taste of carbonation with a hint of hops in the middle and finishes with mostly carbonation and grain. Switzerland has better beers, including the Cardinal Speciale. I can not believe the popularity of this beer despite the fact that it is so much like an American style lager and Germany is so close with better offerings.

Another Swiss adjuct lager under a different name. This one is a very pale yellow color with small white head. A grassy/corn aroma, not as much hop leaning as their Original Lager. Light body with lots of carbonation. It finishes with a light corn sweetness. Drink it with an all-malt lager and it seems too sweet. Nothing on American light lagers here.

0.5l can poured in a chalice.

Simple Lager. Quite light but...

A: Pale clear golden color with a reasonable and creamy white head. Many lacings left in the glass, that's true... So far, that's what we usually expect from an Euro Lager
S: Malts basically. Metallic. A strange smell of ashes in the very end made me realise that the taste wouldn't be a good surprise
T: Like the nose: Quite malty. But it lacks bitterness. Quite metallic taste and with an annoying taste of cigarette ashes
M: Very light body and high carbonation
D: Not a big deal. To be avoided
