There was a lot of construction inside the GN right next to this small bar, so that didn't exactly help the atmosphere. Basically, this place feels like a side bar to grab a brew to cry into over your bad gambling experience!
About 20 stools at this place on the casino floor. Poker games build into the bar [to take your last pennies!].
Couple of bartenders who were reasonably attentive. About 10 beers on tap [e.g. Bass, Gordon Biersch, Guiness, Michelob, Widmer Hef, etc.] and about 30 bottles available [e.g. Dos Equis, Anchor steam, Red Hook, Guinness, Harp, Heineken and more of the usual suspects].
Overall, not something to go out of your way to find. But, if you are gambling in the GN and get thirsty, then easy place to grab a quick brew.

As my wife and I walked around the Golden Nugget I remembered they had a bar mentioned in BA and took out my notes to find the name of it. I asked for directions (even the old Downtown Casino's are pretty big) to the 'International Bar'. We were directed to a long thin bar right beside the bandits on the ground floor. The bar had no name we could see, but assumed this was it. This was mid-afternoon on Saturday 1st May 2010.
A couple of guys were playing the 'in bar-top' betting things so we sat on our own and checked out the International beers on tap, not too International to be honest, Newcastle Brown and Bass (owned by Coors) being the British options.
We were ignored by the bloke behind the bar, he seemed to be only looking after the girls who were servicing the gamblers. So we left thirsty, but pleased we hadn't bothered to spend a cent in the Golden Nugget. Not the greatest start to my 1st 'designated drinking day' during our holiday (I only had two).

This bar is located right in the casino, and so the atmosphere is pretty much "casino". The offer about 10 beers on tap (e.g., Widmer Hefeweizen, Guinness, Newcastle, and a Gordon Biersch beer occasionally) and about 40 bottles, but nothing too notable in the bottle selection. There are two HD televisions behind the bar, and video poker in the bar top. The bar rail is padded (a nice touch if you are playing video poker). The stools are fixed, swivel, and padded, with backs. The bartenders are friendly and attentive, but not very knowledgeable about beer.
Not really a place to go out of your way for, but if you are downtown on Fremont Street (and don't want to go to Main Street Station for a microbrew for some reason), then it is a decent place to have a beer.
