I really enjoy this place. A bar I visit often when I see the family. Very laid back and chilled for the most part. A small bar area inside with a large patio outside. They usually have some live music a few times during the week. Very enjoyable.
The beer and service is good. Quality is not bad. Sometimes an old tap, and there is not a lot o turnover on some of the better bottles. Though a small grip. There are a handful of taps. The highlights are some Port and Lost Abbey. Tons of bottles from all over. US micros, Scottish, and Belgian beers are well represented.
Overall a nice place to relax and have some good beers with friends. It is a good place to see some live music as well (on the right night). Another really good beer bar in downtown Champaign.

Mike and Molly's has live music almost every night of the year. Not always an act over flowing with talent but always worth seeing if you're into live music. Mike and Molly's fills an important need in champaign by offering so much live music.
The bar has a deep whisky list and aways has a few great beers on top. The outdoor patio is awesome in the summer, especially for events.
I really love their location but worry it leaves them without proper foot traffic. As such, I hope the casual visitor would consider M and m's for a night and take the time to find it.
Also- on numerous times, I've heard of the random KBS bottle being available behind the bar...

I went here to see a fantastic show and to my surprise it was also a very good beer bar. A board had listed countries and states (if I can remember right) with beers listed behind them. I was impressed with the selection, which in hindsight maybe I shouldn't have considering it was a big college town. I had a few pints of Baltika 6 because it was less expensive and I was traveling on a budget, but it is probably one of my favorite imported porters. I would love to see a show here again... the show was outdoors under a starry night. This was a great experience.

One of three or four trendy bars in Champaign for the hipster, non-urbanite crowd. Calls itself an Irish pub, but really doesn't do anything Irish besides hosting an Irish music session one day a month at a time they're sure nobody will be there. Whoop-de-do.
Great beer and whiskey selection. Probably has 50 whiskey's on hand. Tons of beer in bottle. Smaller tap selection, but only quality beers.
One of the premier places in town to listen to live music. Mostly indie, college-rock stuff, naturally.
Does not have a kitchen, and therefore does not sell food, besides maybe snack stuff.
Bathrooms have that "this bar has been here for a long time and had a shit-ton of people in it who all carry permanent markers for some reason" feel. You could kill a half-hour on the can just reading all the graffiti. Or at least you would, if the door would close behind you. Which it doesn't.
EDIT: They replaced all those bathroom walls. Now they're prisine until they get marked up again.
This bar has a very interesting crowd. It's sort of the downtown people who consider themselves the "rebels" against the slightly more popular bars. "Alternative" listeners, perhaps? It's pretty gay-friendly as well. I've been hit on by other fellows a few times here. It tends to get crowded later, and the lights are pretty low. Not dark, but very soft light that makes it easy to see people around you but sort of hard to read. The place looks like it has a Barbara Walters filter on it sometimes.
Overall: Great selection, cool people, not a lot of room, and not particularly nice. Focus is on product quality over comfort.

I visited Mike 'n Molly's for the first time last night and was very impressed. We sat outside and it was a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy a conversation and some great beer. Very nice beer selection. Not the biggest selection in town, but still very good. They have a chalkboard above the bar that lists what they have on tap, all the bottles with their prices, and what's recently been added. The staff was friendly and seemed to be fairly knowledgeable. I will definitely come back for the relaxed atmosphere and great beer selection.

The interior isn't impressive at all, so why do I give it a 4.0 on atmosphere? The absolutely stunning courtyard beer garden, surrounded by ivy laden walls, and with a nice view of the evening sky. Go here in the warmer months, I never frequent it when the beer garden is closed.
They typically have a handful of good beers on tap, though they can't hold a candle to other bars in town in this regard, but make up for it by having an amazing cellar of bottled craft brews, you can try a good 4-5 beers from just about any region of the world, with a good number of European winners and American all-stars.
Additionally, while not beer, they have a number of excellent Bourbon available, which I recommend as a finisher to a good night.

Met up with BA gimmehead here while in town for a basketball game. Its a very small downstairs bar, with a few tables and seating along the bar. The beer list is extensive, but the tap selection is not as big as other places I have been. The place is kept dark, with a TV playing sports. A healthy bit of smoke stays in the air, but it was nice to be in a bar that allows smoking again. This is the first bar I ever hit in C-U, and I would definately go back there again, but as an outsider, I got some looks coming in and sitting at the bar. Overall, worthwhile to stop in.

This is one of the best beer bars you'll find. A tremendous selection of beer and a wonderful place for any BA to spend a few hours. Mike 'n Molly's is an important bar because it helps introduce products like Chimay, Unibroue, and other wonderful speciality beers to the public. On-tap staples are Anchor Steam, PBR, Old Style, Hacker-Pschorr weiss, and Guiness. The bartenders are experienced, friendly, and know beer. When I last went, they had added Hacker-Pschorr alt (muncher dunkel) to the taps. The bottle selection is updated every week on a giant chalkboard. Mike 'n Molly's carries beer from EVERY major region and gives good support to American microbrews.
The interior is very small, "seedy" to some. In fact, it's an atmosphere designed to bring you to the bar. The seats are close to the bar and there isn't all that much room inside. I'm sorry that the last reviewer didn't get this experience, but the point is to be as close to the beer as possible.
Recently, MM has added a wide selection of single malt scotches which most BA's (at least myself) should adore. One night worked out wonderfully: Anchor Steam tap to Hacker-Pschorr weiss tap to Glenmorangie 12 year neat to Trois Pistoles to Hacker-Pschorr alt tap to Martell. It wasn't planned, but oh what a gorgeous progression of drinks. This is a beer bar. Unless you require a place with plush seating and big tits, you won't find a more authentic night out on the town.

This is a rough and rundown dive of a place that is in an area of downtown Champaign that is being redeveloped. I saw almost nothing here to recommend to a BAs attention. This is a seedy and worn place woth virtually no beer of interest to me. I'm sorry I wasted my time to visit this site.
