Swing top bottle.
Hazy apricot amber body with a decent head.
Body is a bit thin even for style and despite adequate carbonation.
Light flavor from both the yeast and the malt components. Balance leans a bit more towards the malts than the yeast. Highlight: the nice nutty finish and aftertaste, with a hint of hazelnut.

500ml fliptop bottle

App: Dark straw/light gold. It rides the fine line between opaque and translucent. Fluffy, frothy 3 finger head that turns chunky.

Smell: Dominated by sour yeasty, wheat that has a grainy bread-like quality; similar to sourdough. A hint of banana scent. But it's truly the sour aroma that rules, and I love it.

Taste: This where the beer falls short. A light mild taste. A bit of banana throughout. A mild beginning. Ends with a hoppy fruitiness. A husky malt lingers on the palette.

Crisp but with a bit of a sticky film.

Thanks to a friend for sharing this. It appeared hazy old with a tall white head and off the bat, was filled with a clove-candy aroma. Cleaner, smooth body with spiced candy banana flavor. Sweet (as everything tastes and smells like candy) but drinkable, very juicy and little thin.

On tap at the Castle Burg Hotel in Neuhaus Pegntitz, Franconia - tap house for Veldensteiner beers in the same town where it is brewed

Served into a tall Weissbier glass bearing the Valdensteiner name as you would expect!

hazy yellow in colour with typical clouding for weissbier and a fair sized head of around an inch

tastes were of slight barley, fairly sweet but not too so, also slight spice and citrus coming across

Not the worlds greatest Weissbier but a decent enough effort!

Got a lot of these at $2 a bottle on a steal! Poured into a weizen glass.

A - Pours a murky orange-straw yellow. Massive frothy pale head. Give the glass is rather thin, this head is over a full finger length. Awesome retention and nice lacing.

S - Clove. citrus and a bit of funk. Makes me appreciate the greater hefe's from Ayinger and Weihenstephaner.

T - A bit of dank fruit upfront, some lively yeast and thin wheat malts. Not really exciting.

M - Light body with above average carbonation.

O - A boring, musty, hefe that I was really expecting better from. I don't expect to ever have this brew again.

Hazy tarnished brass color with golden highlights. Bright white head. Smells oddly of sweet dark fruit and burnt pizza crusts.

Very strange beer. Tastes like it could be a dunkel but someone lightened it up with something. Light and crisp with a burnt caramel note. Semi-spicy finish.

This beers done wrong. Tastes like a dunkel and looks likes a weiss.Either the importer hasn't taken care of this beer, or its a bad beer from the start.

Poured from a brown 16.9 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, a touch of banana. Taste is green apples, some banana, a bit of wheat and also somewhat unusual for the style. Feels medium bodied in the mouth mouth and overall an ok beer, but I am feeling left a little disappointed.

500 ml swing-top bottle. Served in a weizen glass, the beer pours a hazy golden/orange color with a two inch frothy white head. Head retention is pretty good, but there isn't much lacing at all. Aroma is cloves, banana and wheat. Nice smelling brew. It tastes like wheat, cloves, and a bit of bubblegum. Not as nice as the aroma, but still decent. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's smooth and is well carbonated (maybe a bit too much). I think it's a decent brew, but not one of the best hefe's I've tried. With that being said, it's worth a try.

A: The beer is cloudy yellow in color. It poured into a weizen glass with a two finger high head that died down rather quickly, but a thin layer of bubbles consistently remained on the surface. A high amount of carbonation is visible from the rising bubbles.
S: Aromas of cloves and wheat stand out in the nose, which also has notes of bananas and oranges plus some hints of yeast.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and also has some lemon flavors; the aftertaste is rather citrusy and also has a slight amount of acidity. The finish also becomes a bit spicy as it starts to warm up.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a little dryness in the finish.
D: The beer is easy to drink but it isn't quite as thirst quenching as some of the other types of hefeweizens available.

Beer pours a cloudy yellow in color into my Amsterdam weizen glass with a noticeable amount of carbonation that is visible from the rising bubbles. Smells of clove, spice notes, coriander, and banana. taste is very similar to the smell but weaker on the flavors; little bit on the bland side. light-bodied on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. Dryness on the finish. Overall, a decent hefe but I think there is better out there.

Poured a cloudy medium straw hue with a two finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.

The smell was neutral. No yeast esters no spice.

The taste featured a mild estery yeast and some chewy wheat malt. Other than that, no solid flavor profile.

The mouthfeel was thin and slightly chewy.

Overall a disappointing and uneventful hefe.

Cloudy blonde with cornsilk highlights and a big lumpy head of eggshell foam. Banana, clove and hay with some mild floral hop notes. Nice, spicy bread dough and over-ripe banana notes. Soft and medium bodied. Nice Hefe but not in league with the best of the style.

Pours into a weizen glass a hazy yellow-orange with a big, beautiful, thick white head.

Smells of bananas, clove, and spicy notes; as well as a sharp and crisp scent of malted wheat.

Light on the fruitiness normally associated with a hefe. Little banana taste, but spicy and sharp. It's sharply carbonated, which makes for a rather prickly, and less than pleasant mouthfeel. Distinct cereal (like breakfast cereal!) aftertaste with a slightly phenolic edge.

Drinkability is average.

1pt .9 fl oz brown bottle with flip top

Kaiser Brau Veldensteiner WeiBbier changed the color of my clear weizen glass to a cloudy "dirty" gold color producing a 1 1/2 finger white head that held well. Streaks and spots of lacing remained as I consumed the ale. The light nose was dominated by a mild banana and orange citrus aroma. The taste was similar to the smell with a slight clove spice in the background. The finish was a little dry and crisp with a lighter mouth feel for a hefeweizen.
Overall, Veldensteiner WeiBbier is an easy drinking hefe due to its lighter less rich flavor
There are more flavorful [German] hefes available.

I didn't have a weizen glass available (I'm home with Ma and Pa for the summer) but this beer still looks mighty impressive in my pint glass with it's mighty white head and a body nicely obscured by clouds. Nose is properly doused in yeast and wheat with banana, clove, and minute bibblegum still in the works. Looking good.

A bit more tart than a lot from the style but finishes sweet. Citrus joins the wheat at the front and hops are more evident than in your average hefe. Texture is tight and well carbonated with a creamy quality. This is a good hefe at a good price.

Pours a pale amber, clear until the yeast filters down from the top providing a uniform beautiful haze. Pretty head with below average retention. Some odd deposits that look different from oridinary yeast.

Strong spicy notes on the nose --- coriander ?

Complex spicy taste with Indian curry like spices mixed with pulpy orange and sweet yeast. Very pleasant, perhaps slightly cloying.

Mouthfeel is somewhat viscuous and sweet. Carbonation relatively heavy but not for a Hefeweizen. Good drinkability.

Aftertaste is long and very consistent with main taste. This is one of the strongest aspects of this beautiful beer.

Overall definitely a Hefeweizen worth checking out. Purchased from New Beer Distributors NYC.

500 ml swing top bottle. Best before 9/16. Tomorrow ironically. I have been known to enjoy weissbiers near their due date, but I obviously prefer them fresher.

It pours with a typical billowing almost uncontrollable head. It is big, fluffy, and white. It doesn't leave a huge amount of lacing as it recedes though. The body is a honey amber with a touch of gold, slightly hazy.

This one is a ripe banana bomb in the smell. Lots of ripe banana here, there is also a good bit of spicy clove. There is also some caramel.

The taste is kind of on the bland side for the style, though refreshing. It has a very noticeable malt flavor that is almost honey graham cracker like. The clove comes out a bit more in the flavor. The banana is there in the taste but it tastes more like a young banana rather than a ripe one.

It is middle of the road hefe, I have to think some of the flavors have faded, it probably has a lot more banana in the flavor when fresh.
