One of the bottles from the variety pack. New to me.

This pours a clear golden straw color with nice foaming. It’s lightly hopped aroma with hints of grass and straw. The flavor is crisp with a light fruity roundness to it. Finishes dry. Enjoyable enough.

Bottled on 3/17/14.

Pours a clear orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and peach aromas. Taste is much the same with malt, earth, peach, and citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with an interesting peach like fruit quality I am getting in both the smell and taste.

Bottle served (appearance rated average cuz you can't skip form fields), fantastic brew. Hop-strong for a lager. Aroma is bready, but with a ton of apricot/peach notes. Mouth feel is fulfilling for it's style, even with fairly light carbonation. Somewhat piney from the hops, but super refreshing. Solid brew for summertime.

look: 4.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Appearance - Pours a crystal clear, beautiful vibrant orange with a 2-finger white head. Fair retention, resulting in a sparse island of suds in the center of the glass and around the edge. Lacing is small and spotty with good stick.

Smell - Aroma hits on notes of grain, grass and citrus at the forefront. Subtle bready undertone.

Taste - Hops are predominant, with citrus character hitting first. Malt base is pretty much buried beneath the hop profile, but what is there comes across as either bread and/or caramel. Big grassy bite and some mild lemon pith in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel - Light to medium body with fair to lively carbonation. Crisp, dry finish.

Overall - Could certainly pass as one of those trending "IPL's" but is being pushed as an innovative American Lager. Eh, marketing. Pretty solid brew regardless.

Pours a finger of head on a clear medium straw colored body. Darker than most lagers.
The aroma is quite fragrant: flowers, grain and musty. Nice though.
The taste is grainy malt sweetness with a descent balance of mild bitterness.
The texture is a little gritty with moderate carbonation.
It's a nice, full bodied lager.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving some lacing on the surface and the sides of the glass and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of pale malts and sweetness are present in the nose.
T: The taste is a little sweet and has notes of malts. Slight hints of grassy hops are noticeable.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little clean on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The beer is easy to drink and has pleasant hints of malty sweetness.

Bottle poured into a Speakeasy Ales & Lagers pint glass

A: Pours deep golden yellow with a frothy light tan head. Darker than I would have expected, in a good way.

S: Fruity, sorta peach/apricot, some citrus and grassy notes, with light malt sweetness.

T: Crisp citrus hops, grapefruit and orange, some peachy/apricot fruitiness, a bit grassy, with just enough malt to balance things, and a very nice floral touch on the finish.

M: Medium body, moderate carbonation, crisp but well backed with substance.

O: A lot more flavor than I was expecting out of this one. It's pretty crisp, but also got a solid body to back to back it up. Surprisingly good beer.

Floral grassy hops balance sweet malts with a light, extra dry and crisp finish. An underrated lager.

Appearance: Looks a lot like a macrobrew: copper colored with decent foam and lacing, noticeable carbonation.

Smell: Grains, grass, malt. Hints of hops.

Taste: Grassy and grainy malts, citrus, caramel.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a slight hop bitterness in the finish.

The Verdict: Not bad. Plenty of flavor, well balanced, and full of quality. This is a good example of what a craft brewer can do with a regular session lager.

I tried this on tap at brass rail deli, served chilled in a cervoise.

The color is a resplendent golden with excellent clarity and thick off white head with fine bead and a collar of lace sticks. The smell has a strong hop presence with a lot of herbal/citrus scents and tea-like grassy accent. The feel is very good with medium light body with semi-high carbonation bitterness and medium carbonation with resinous element and mostly dry finish.

The taste is decent with tangy bitter flavor of hops up front with slight spice and gentle malt sweetness with a hint of citrus from the hops mid palate and finish is balanced with moderately bitter lingering flavor. This is a very good hoppy lager -good for an IPL but still low malt and focus on hops

Pour almost no head. Clear. Yellow body. Good carbonation. Smell is dry and good hop smell. Taste is more so a hoppy Pilsner. Crisp and clean. Has a hop bite but not too much. Enough to make you want another sip. Very good.

On tap at Rattle n Hum. Not to my liking. I don't care for hops so this hoppy lager leaves me cold. I'll leave it at that.

Wow not what I was expecting, but it was a pleasant surprise. This is one hoppy lager, probably the hoppiest I have ever had. Relatively dark in color from your typical hoppy pilsner, almost a red caramel color. The aroma was a citrus hop aroma and so was the flavor. This beer was very clean and easy drinking. There was a very subtle malt sweetness but no roast malt notes and the flavor ends with a nice bitterness.

a really pretty decent lager, and probably underrated here. its a little bigger than others, but fits nicely with speakeasys unique take on classic styles, making them their own, it really works in that regard. a little fuller bodied, a touch of sweetness throughout, and a grain bill that isnt too light or too boring, flavorful and fresh without overwhelming a basic lager yeast strain. lagers dont always stoke me up, unless they come from jacks and are totally unconventional, but something like this never really lights my fire. i like that it has some booze to it for a session lager, and that its as carefully made as it is. its also just different enough to not be boring, but i prefer almost everything else i have had fro speakeasy to this. however, i know a lot of fringe beer people that would clamor for this if they tasted it, hail it as the best, and commit to it fully, so i get it there, its just not enough to hold my attention for longer than a pint. i guess im picky now...

This is a good pale lager with some character, but a bit dry and light in character.

Dark gold, it has a big white head soon thinning.

Aroma is citrus &fruit (pineapple or passionfruit), hint of grass and grain.

Taste is hoppy, a bit zesty, with spicy grass and peppery citrus bitterness which is light but bright and clear. It has very light grain/bread sweetness.
