Named after the legendary Bureau of Prohibition agent Eliot Ness, Untouchable is a no-holds-barred, ruthless Nelson IPA. Untouchable pours a vibrant copper, with aromas of fresh pine and caramel malt. With intense notes of grapefruit and perfectly crisp sauvignon blanc grapes, this IPA is mouthwateringly juicy with a clean, refreshing finish. Armed with a heavy dose of Nelson Sauvin & Centennial hops, this IPA is simply Untouchable.

Pours a cloudy light copper with a finger of fluffy head. The nose is significantly more malty than hoppy. The flavor follows with the residual sweetness of the malt serving as the highlight. Certainly more in-line with a traditional English IPA than its American cousin.

On tap at Speakeasy Ales & Lagers
A: Pours copper amber with a frothy tan head that settles to a firm layer and laces well.
S: Tropical notes, fruity, citrus and pine, slightly toasty, bready, and caramel malt sweetness.
T: Tropical fruit, mango, guava, faint pineapple, white grape, citrus, grapefruit, lemon, a little orange, pine, bready, slightly toasty, and some caramel malt sweetness.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: I've had this one on tap and out of the bottle. Age mellows it quite a bit, but when fresh it is a Nelson hop party. Very nice.

A little heavy for an IPA. I thought it would have a little more citrus taste or be a little crisp, but no. Even though it did not meet my expectation from Speakeasy, it was better than the average (and there is a lot of average) IPA's.
