Golden/amber in color, this beer has a nose that is floral, spicy, a little bit citrus- like, with some caramel and pine. The foam level is nice, sits atop a clear body, and does hold its own for a while, even though it leaves only a small amount of lacing.
Moving to the taste, this IPA offers flavors consistent with other west- coast IPA. The taste of citrus, piney hops dominate, but they rest on the solid malt backbone that adds some caramel malt, pale malt, and bread flavor to the mix. The body of the beer is medium and the ale has a long, dry finish that mellows out with each passing minute.
I love a good IPA and Big Daddy IPA is certainly a beer worthy of a try. With its citrus and floral hop- accented flavor, this IPA is much like other American west coast IPA. At the same time, however, this IPA actually offers a good degree of balance and its malt contributions, while trumped by the flavor of the hops, are still noteworthy and they offer a good, solid base to support the hops.
This IPA is a tasty one for certain and I recommend a six pack if you can track one down. Its distribution base is still somewhat limited, but Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA is certainly a beer worth taking some effort to find.

The Big Daddy IPA is a tasty IPA worth an afternoon drink. I purchased this beer in a pounder and decanted it into a pint glass. The beer looks good with a large frothy head and a light yellow color. Lace foam clings to the beer glass after drinking.
The taste is smooth drinkable India Pale Ale. Citrus funk and pine cone are the initial flavor and then a little bitterness lingers. It could almost be a pale ale in appearance and taste, but there is a fair amount of hops in there -- it is just very smooth. Very enjoyable beer.
