The Beers of California
Bottled Date: 2/14/13
A: Clear, pale yellow with an ephemeral white head. The head reduces to a layer of white with decent layering on the glass.
S: Fresh spring flowers, pine, citrus zest, and touch of black pepper along with some honey and caramel sweetness.
T: Clean hop bite with earth, pine, and lemon peel. The spice also has elements of pepper and garlic. The fruit that is there is predominantly citrus and much more muted relative to the nose. The malt is barely there with honey and caramel breadiness. The finish is puckering.
M: Oily linger that coats the mouth with a feel that is ale medium and carbonation that is faint to medium.
O: A decent IPA with nice bitterness but little complexity. This brew is not much to look at and the label of 'good' can barely be applied here. Although decent and drinkable, this beer is not quite an IPA regular in the refrigerator.
