Doubling down on malt & hops, Double Daddy raises the stakes. Double Daddy pours a fiery orange with a lasting creamy white head. Triple dry-hopped with Pacific Northwest hops, the aroma is lush and floral with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pine, and spice. Fresh pale malts and an orange marmalade tang balance the bold, bitter hops and lean mouthfeel.

Deep orange lightly veiled. Off white foam, a lot.
Malty and caramel nose, full. The grassy and citrus hop.
In the taste a shovel of malt and caramel. Chewy.
Then a lot of hop bitterness. Grapefruit and piney.
A bit heavy and it lacks of elegance. Full body, bitter aftertaste.
Unbalanced, chewy.

Clear orange-rust color.
Off-white head; strong lace.
Malty grapefruit nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Boring but balanced, this has a vague citrus & malt combination but fails to excite.

No bottling date that I could find.
A: Pours a very cloudy dark orange. Good sized fluffy off-white head though. Good head retention and a smattering of lacing.
S: Huge sharp fruity hops. Citrusy mainly. Tangerine in there as well as some pungent dank spicy hops.
T: Again, big hops up front. Tangerine, citrus and a huge dose of dankness. Spicy pine in the middle and finish. Kind of an odd combination. Bready malt and then more of that dankness and pine in the aftertaste.
M: Medium bodied, sharply bitter. Very oily.
O: Kind of an odd beer. Weird combination of hops and with odd flavors. Strange random bitterness and a very oily mouthfeel, like someone poured hop oil into this thing. It's very muddled as a result. It's okay but not something I'd seek out again.

This was poured into a snifter. The appearance was a nice looking transparent amber color. Carbonation was seen at the beginning moderately rising and then as the beer warmed up, there was none seen. The head was about a finger’s worth of white foaminess. Lacing clung nicely all around the glass. The smell had a moderate bittersweet citrus and piney hops being graced with a nice set of grassy hop oils. Light sweet onion arranges itself in and around the aroma. The taste was mainly bittersweet all around. Sweet onion, grassiness, pine and citrus blend eloquently and give off a nice sharpness on my tastebuds. A light citrusy aftertaste runs into a nice sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel about it. Carbonation ran fairly smooth to allow the bittersweet to become the harshness trying to wreck the palate. Overall, this was a well done DIPA. It does everything it’s supposed to do.

Disappointing DIPA. I expected something with a darker color and smoother taste. Oh well, I guess I'm just not a fan of west coast IPAs.

Apparently they lowered the ABV from when it was added to BA. Maybe that improved it a bit? I would not call this a poor beer, but it's not outstanding either. Cloudy and orange with a creamy head - lots of lacing. Aroma is light tropical fruit and some bread like malt. A bit of the alcohol vapor present. Flavor is grassy hops, pine and some biscuit malt, but the balance seems off. Still some alcohol burn in it & a thin mouthfeel. Bitter aftertaste. Alright overall, but Not one I would drink again unless it was free.
