On tap at the Toronado today.
The beer pours a golden amber color with good head retention and lacing. The beer was a bit cold at first, but as it warmed, I got some light cherry, pepper, a bit of tobacco and some light dry citrus. On the palate, this beer is quite impressive. The flavor profile presents a very dry beer, with considerable green and dry tobacco, pepper, dry citrus and some underlying light cherry and sweet malt. The flavor profile is very complex in this beer, and while I wasn't sure it would work initially, ultimately they won me over. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a long, herbaceous, bitter finish. Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile, and I was told the abv. is fairly low in this DIPA.
Very nice beer... wish this was more available, as it's just so different from most of the DIPA's one sees on the market this day. Very enjoyable.

Had this at the brewery a day before it was released in honor of Toronado’s 25 Anniversary party. Fresh beer at the source! From what I understand this is a different beer than their regular Big Daddy. Or as Ralph Wiggums says, Big Daddy, meet Regular Daddy?
This pours a straw orange color with great foam atop of it. There’s a zesty aroma with notes of orange coming across. The flavor is a curious mix of citrus and green grass with a little orange tang. Slightly dank, with some catty notes and hints of garlic rounded out by orange and citrus. Mildly bitter brew with some onion and garlic greens. There is a noticeable yet subdued bitterness. The effervescence keeps the resiny finish from slowing things down. It’s an easy drinker, and at only 6.5% or so that’s practically a light beer for Speakeasy! It’s an interesting brew.

Appearance is that of a pilsner mixed with a red ale. A bright yellow going toward orange hues and a head that leave a touch of laceing as it dissipates.
Smells like a more flowery ipa than that of fruit. The hops come through but I kind of expected more.
The taste has that flower bitter feel with a touch of muted herbal and caramel notes. This ones a not so bitter ipa, which makes it highly drinkable.
Mouthfeel has some stickyness but maintains its light character that equals the taste. Overall, this was an interesting taste and is very drinkable. For an ipa I could definitely session this one.

On tap at Tony’s Darts Away in Burbank, CA.
Pours a clear yellow with a foamy beige head that settles to an oily film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus fruit, and citrus zest. Taste is much the same with a slight herbal hop finish. There is a medium hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is drinkable and tastes better than it smells in my opinion.
