Another birthday sixer oh hell yeah.
Pours a beautiful shade of translucent copper. Small busy dishy white head. Slightly recoverable upon command.
Smell is a nice grapefruit hops. Malt comes across as fress oranges. Very soothing.
Taste is good but a little watered down. At least that's the impression that I get. Grapefruit and tea leaves.
Medium light body. Easy drinker. Can and will crush this six pack happily.
Overall: above average

Appearance Light orange in color and very clear with a nice, white, foamy head that left some terrific lacing.
Smell This has a nice orange and pine hop aroma with a solid malt base.
Taste Whoa! Somethings rotten in the State of Denmark. Im no brewing guru, but something went wrong here.
The piney hops found their way into the taste, which was good. But the rest of the beer is completely absent. The malt base that I thought I smelled at the nose was completely AWOL. However, the taste wasnt as bad as the mouthfeel . . .
Mouthfeel As Stephan King would say in a hushed tone with a dramatic swoop of his arm: Thinner. This was like drinking hop-flavored water, which isnt bad if its supposed to be hop-flavored water but when youre selling it as an ale it sucks. I think if you cellared this for six months or so it would break down into pure tap water.
Drinkability I sure liked smelling it, but I wont ever buy another bottle to drink. What a disappointment.

Pours from the bottle with a golden color and a small white head. Aromas are a nice pale, slightly toasty maltiness with a bright citric, piney Cascade hop wafting out of the glass.
First sip brings a pale, slightly biscuity malt flavor which flows into a sturdy citric, herbal Cascade hop punch. Finishes with a good touch of bitterness. A good, clean pale ale overall that's hopped well.
Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with good stable carbonation. Medium bodied and easy to drink. A solid offering that would make a good everyday brew to have sitting in the fridge. Thanks to Callenak for the bottle.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a clear medium yellow color with a white head. The aroma is wheat, bready malts and orange citrus. The flavor is orange hops and bready malts. Low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Pours a medium golden color. Not much head, and doesn't last long. Smells very earthy. Lots of grass, smells of hops, orange and other citrus notes. Taste is hoppy, earthy, and I taste orange followed by some lemon zest. Mouthfeel is not as crisp as I would want for a PA, but still nice. Quite a bit of bite on the tongue and the finish lingers for quite awhile. Overall....tasty. For 6.99 a 6 pack this is more than worth the price.

A: Nice bright amber. Perfect pour. Perfect head.
S: Super light, just a faint "beer" smell.
T: Taste is awsome for a 5 dollar 6-pack. This is a surpriseing, and well-balanced brew.
M: Crisp. Refreshing.
D: This beer is perfectly drinkable. It would be a great all-day beer. I can drink a ton of this cheap surprise!

Had this many a times from Trader Joe's, but for some reason tonight, it came through very thin and weak.
Pours nice, decent yellow dark pale ale color, but it goes inconsistent from there. Usually, it seems like a SN Pale clone, but instead, now its thin, like SN Summerfest almost, minus the lemony citrus zest in it.
Little mouthfeel, but I guess its drinkable still, not bad, just seems watered down these days. If it gets better, I'll revise my review, because this stuff has been better traditionally.

served in pint glass. Label reports ABV = 4.7%
Pours clear and golden with a rather sparse head. Head has some retention but leaves almost no lacing.
S - somewhat weak but very pleasant mix of citrus, hops and sweet malt.
T - Clean and fresh. Like the smell, this beer has a very nice flavor but I do wish it was stronger. Nice malt/hops balance; perhaps too balanced for a pale ale. Good finish with a light amount of lingering bitterness.
D - easy and inviting.
M - a bit thin but nicely soft and smooth; medium carbonation.

Tried this one while making my rounds at Trader Joes. I have to say this is a good solid pale ale. Good flavor, good amount of hops. Very balanced beer. And definitely a drinkable beer. For the price, you can't go wrong with this one. Nothing flashy, but a good beer.

Picked an "orphan" single up from Trader Joe's. I know I've had this before but really didn't remember, so went for another.
It had very little head on its apple juice color body. A roasted malt aroma - very subtle. The taste was just plain average. Nothing terrible, nothing memorable. My score says average. Average beers are not good enough. I won't be buying this again.

This beer is great. It packs great flavour at 4.5% abv. Aroma is nice and hoppy. The body is not real heavy, it's rather light actually. But I enjoy the delicate malt flavour this beer packs. The price is ridiculous at $4.99 a six pack. It's a staple during the summer at my Drunken Duck Pub.

Appearance - Pours a crystal clear golden yellow with a white, fluffy head just over a finger thick. Decent retention. Leaves a nice, sticky lacing.
Smell - Mildly hoppy notes with floral and citrus character, very light pine note as well. Aroma also has a faint bready maltiness playing off in the background.
Taste - Follows the nose. Mild hop character upfront and throughout; floral and citrus notes play off each other nicely. Malts do well to give this brew a sweetness which provides nice balance, though any predominant character is hard to pinpoint... maybe a bit of bread as the finish nears. Just a minor touch of soapiness in the aftertaste I'm not fond of.
Mouthfeel - Light to medium body with a fairly lively carbonation which tingles at the lips. Finishes clean and crisp. Smooth and drinkable.
Overall - Solid PA from Firesto.... er, "Mission St." I'm not usually too fond of pale ales that are similar in flavor profile (Stone PA comes to mind) but this one hits on the characters I like while the characters I don't like come across as more subdued. It's still not something I'm likely to buy, but I can appreciate the execution, and it's a great value beer from Trader Joe's.

According to the label Beers should be great tasting and have a good price. Well, this beer as a good price, something like $4.50 a six. But a great taste .
Appearance: golden, slightly oily looking, with a small white head made of tiny bubbles that dissipates rapidly but leaves some lacing.
Smell: strong hop odder, very piney.
Taste: thin, no malt depth. The hops bidder but do not give tremendous character.
Mouthfeel: watery though also slightly greasy.
Drinkability: rather refreshing; quenching with some lingering bitterness to wheat the palate.
.is ok. Probably a good bet if you are entreating and need to buy lots of beer.

A - Medium orange brew. Cloudy with a nice one finger cap that shows really nice retention.
S - Citrus and pine. Standard "Northwest" hop profile.
T - Mandarin orange, pineapple, and grapefruit. Reminds me of Sierra Nevada in a way.
M - Crisp, relatively highly carbonated, and refreshing.
D - Good beer for a great price. This is almost like a SN clone in my opinion, and if the sixer is two bucks less I'd be temped to pick this over that classic pale ale.

Cloudy golden, with nice foamy carbonation, and good lace, too.
Nose is mostly malty, with a hint of floral hops.
Taste is lightly hopped. I get a little citrus in there, but the malts mute this effect greatly. In truth, I expected a little more hoppiness.
Overall, a satisfying and drinkable, if unremarkable, pale ale.

Appearance: Solid golden with ample carbonation and decent foam and lacing.
Smell: Cedar and some lemon. A hint of pine as well.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Very watery flavor. A hint of lemon hops, just barely... This really has nothing more than the consistency of water.
Overall Drinkability: Looks and smells nice, but flavor and consistency is extremely weak.

Found at Trader Joe's for $4.99/6pk and figured I'd try it out. Pours a pale, bright straw color topped by just a wisp of creamy white head. Assertive aroma of piney, floral hops. Palate is more piney hops, along with a touch of light sweet malt. The hoppiness lends a mildly bitter aftertaste that lingers for a while. Medium body makes this quite an easy drinking beer. Difficult to beat for the price.

A: Bright gold color hints of orange, completely crystal clear, typical for a filtered beer but not really my cup of tea. A perfectly white foam head appears, and than runs for cover quickly.
S: Beautiful west coast hop aroma with a hint of honey and caramelized malts.
T: This beer really tastes more like any IPA than a Pale Ale. The hops tend to dominate with a bitter-lemon flavor coming through. To be honest I would guess this brew to be between 6%-7% ABV but really its not even close, 4.6%, odd.
M: Not that impressed, I guess I enjoy unfiltered so much more these days that all other beers seem to have the uneventful texture of water.
D: I didn't have to much issue with the drinkability of this beer, however I like stronger ales, for its low 4.6% ABV I would say its not that easy a drink.

A: light straw golden color - very little lacing, minimal foam
S: A very light citrusy malt aroma - definitely not dry hopped
T: Malty, refreshing, crisp – almost like a Pilsner but definitely not a pale ale (at least not a west coast pale ale.) That being said it is a nice refreshing summer brew. The taste is good but not for a pale ale category. I know this is made by the same brewery as Firestone so maybe this is a less hoppy Pale 31? Malty upfront, dry finish so it’s no overly sweet.
M: Light to medium body, with decent carbonation
O: Tasty beer for $5.99 a sixer. If I had paid more for this then I would have been disappointed. It’s actually a nice brew to have after a heavier IPA

Bottled from Trader Joe's with a bottled on date of 1/14/09. So about 2 months old.
A- very pale golden, crystal clear. Foamy bright white head, doesn't stick around too long, leaves good lacing.
S- Grainy smell with a touch of dried leaves.
T- very light touch of grassiness, with an aftertaste that makes me wonder if this was brewed with an adjunct such as corn or rice.
M- Very light, watery on the mid to back half.
D- kinda resembles a lightly hopped corona or something. It's not bad, I think it's really lacking in the body and any sort of maltiness.
