A: Pours a crystal clear pale to medium yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and some faint golden yellow highlights. The beer has a two finger tall pillowy foamy white head that reduces to a medium thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of pale and grainy malts with a light amount of herbal hop aromas as well.

T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of pale and grainy malts with just a hint of sweetness. That is followed by some very light flavors of herbal hops which impart a light amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Almost creamy.

O: A very decent example of the style and a relative bargain at right around $1 at Trader Joe's. Easy to drink and somewhat enjoyable but not a beer I will be running out to get again - though it would not be bad at a hot summer cook-out.

I am convinced that people are drinking two different beers here. Those back East are not drinking the Steinhaus B.C. from Paso Robles, Ca. This Blonde Ale is pretty good. Enjoy it while you can folks. The contract with Trader Joe's and Steinhaus is coming to a close. Please don't let Minhaus brew the next versions of Mission St. Ales!

Not at all bad, in fact this would probably rate quite high in a blind taste test. Straw gold in color with great clarity, similar in color to a Budweiser. Not much in the nose at all; sweet cereal grains and some grassy hops. Taste is sweet, light and grainy with a mellow fruity finish. Not much hop flavor detected. medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Easy drinking the way a blonde should be with no diacetyl, astringency, or bitterness. I would drink this all summer long.

Mission St. Blonde Ale has a thin, white head, a clear, bubbly, yellow-gold appearance, and minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of faint sweetness, light malt, and sweetness. Taste is also mild, and one will encounter those elements described in the smell, with a low-level, but appropriate hop bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Mission St. Blonde Ale finishes mostly dry and easy drinking.

A standard pour of Mission St.'s Blonde Ale yields a blonde-amber body and head with very little staying power. No more than three slim strings of bubbles lazily wind their way to the top. This should be a pleasant, relaxing beer to drink.

The nose is light. Toasted grain and bit of pineapple suggest themselves immediately. Thereafter appears a bit of raisin bread gently warming in an oven.

The taste follows the nose at first, but is let down in the end by an overuse of bittering hops. There are some nice candied fruit tones here. The brewers ought to have let them sing a bit more.

The feel of the brew is slightly more astringent and watery than expected (or desired!). Hmm.

I won't pick up a Mission St. Blonde the next time I'm at Trader Joe's. That said, I wouldn't hesitate to drink one if it were offered at a party.
