A - On the surface, this beer appears kind of boring looking when poured into a glass. There is no head and very little visible activity.
S - Upon smelling the beer, it is a best bland. Though there is something a bit strange there.
T - The taste of the beer starts of middling or mediocre, but after a short time the after tastes hits with no power. The first couple sips are not great and they lose interest quickly.
M - After a while, this beer made my mouth dry in a way that made me want water and no more beer.
O - After trying to give this beer a good chance it failed completely. I could not even finish the first two bottles at all. And I only managed to finish the third bottle (on the third night) by rinsing my mouth with water several times. This is the most disappointing beer I have had in a very long time.

After being pleasantly surprised by their very affordable IPA, it was with great gusto I tore into their blonde offering.
Pours an unfortunately macrolagerish yellow. Big white foam head. *sigh*
Smells like lemon peel and grain malt. Ugh.
Taste is just bad. This is the same place that made the IPA? Just rancidly awful. Grainy malt, maybe a splash of fetid lemon ... so undrinkable.
Well, I'll stick to the IPA from this place at Trader Joe's.

Mission St. Blonde Ale is a clear, golden ale with a filmy, white ring. It has a sweet, light, malt extract aroma with a minty, herbal hint. It's light bodied and a little watery with a chalky finish. It tastes quite sweet-- kind of like, well, light malt extract. There's a light, resiny bitterness after the swallow. I dumped most of the bottle into some onions and garlic I was cooking.

a: I poured this bad boy into a tall pilsner glass. Gave off a great looking head that did not hold its figure. Left quickly and in its wake left a very thin and blotchy head for the remainder of the beverage. It pours a very pretty golden straw color with nice plump bubbles trickling towards its top.
s: The smell is quite pleasant. You can smell that sweet mash that ultimately gave me this beer. Very likeable. Really looking forward to drinking this.
t: Definitely a beer that you can drink a lot of. Was a relatively clean taste that came in with little flavor and exited quickly. Reminded me very much of Budweiser (can I say that on here?) A very flat flavor that did not taste very fresh. After about the third or fourth sip the flavor components changed and it began to taste like an old Lager. Maybe something that was stored in a hot garage for a summer and then during the winer months pulled out to serve guests. I am trying not to rant, but this was a let down.
m: Watery and airy. Very light - both on feel and carbonation.
o: Overall I think I already said it - not an impressive beer. I would recommend you buy a 6-pack of the cheap stuff. It will give you what this will give you for half the price.

I picked this up at Trader Joe's where they let you buy one bottle at a time instead of the whole 6 pack. $1.17 for a single 12oz bottle with no freshness date.
The beer poured a crystal clear pale gold color with a half finger of white head that lasted about a minute. Absolutely zero lacing.
There's not much smell to this. Mostly getting apple with some sweet malt and grassy hops.
This should be called a bland ale instead of a blonde ale. It's barely more than carbonated water. Very little flavor here. It has a slight apple taste with a small kiss of honey. Hops are flavorless and don't provide much bitterness, which is OK for a blonde ale, but there's no excuse for the lack of malt.
Light and crisp from the high carbonation. Almost seltzer waterish.
Glad I only bought one of these.

Clean, golden in appearance. Rich head of carbonation, but no retention/lace.
Curious aroma. I get grains, toast, and a little hops.
Taste seems flat and grainy, with a faint citrus hops note towards the finish. The aftertaste here seems dirty, somehow, too.
This one seems to have no complexity or character, and to me is like a cross between a Fat Tire and a PBR. Didn't like.

A new Trader Joes opened up in my neighborhood on 72nd Street on Broadway on Manhattan's upper west side. I had heard a lot of good things about their beers. They seem to have a number of brands: The basic "made in mexico" brand. The Mission Street, which is a collaboration with Firestone Walker, which this is a part of. And the "german" series, which is Gordon Biersch.
I was not crazy about the blonde. It was very light in character with too much something, maybe carbonation or some other element. Color was a very light straw with a great deal of carbonation. Aroma was mostly CO2. Flavor was off, not sure what it was but kinda off. I'll give the beer another chance but my first impression was not great. .

Bottle served into a Port Brewing sampler glass at me friend's house in Orange, California. Reviewed live. Acquired at Trader Joe's for 50 cents.
A: Pours a half finger head of white colour, decent cream, fair thickness, and awful retention. Colour is a clear blonde.
Sm: Clean barley and malts. A moderate strength aroma. Bland and simple.
T: Hints of honey. Clean barley and malts. Straw. Very bland and boring. Not really balanced. Built blandly. Not full bodied.
Mf: Smooth and wet. A bit thin. A bit watery. Adequately carbonated. Complements the flavour decently.
Dr: Very drinkable, but rather boring and bland. I'd prefer more of the honey flavour. It's okay. I wouldn't get it again. A great budget beer if you're shopping at Trader Joe's.

12oz bottle into pint glass.
A: Pours a clear, dark golden body, with white fluffy head and small patchy lacing. The overall clearness is a bit much, see that I can see right through it.
S: A subtle blonde note, with a hint of bready aromas and a lead on of clove.
T/M: The mouthfeel is a short waxy one, that does not last long. A strange off taste, that is not too pleasant. Notes of cardboard and subtle lemon. meh the worst part of this brew is the taste and for beer that is not good. Mouthfeel of water and shows no body on the palate.
D: Not by me, but I feel that others could find this a good beer to get into other Hefe's and lighter craft brews.

Poured a golden yellow color with a large white head.
Smells like citrus and malt.
Tastes a bit of citrus and honey. Pretty unimpressive.
Carbonation on the lighter side, light bodied fairly drinkable.
Admittedly I am not the biggest Blonde fan, but this one was really just plain boring. Overall I probably wouldn't buy this again.

Into a pint glass:
A: hazy golden colored body with a small white bumpy head
S: yeasty with pale and sweet malts, sugary corn
T: sweet and watery
M: light to medium, some harshness on the tongue, sessionable, no aftertaste, sticky finish
O: I don't think this is something I need to have again, but could tolerate if served and this is all there is
