Pours an amber-orange color with nice head. Caramel aromas hint at a malty beer, but the hops are present and it has a nice bitter character to balance the maltiness. Pleasant to drink, but not overly "refreshing" as it is a bit heavy. More hop aroma would make this a better beer as it leans too far to the malty side.

TL;DR: may buy when on a budget
L: more cola than amber.
S: pine and caramel. Not shy about it, either.
T: spicy hops quickly take a back seat to those biscuits you left in the oven for about 15 minutes too long. Not a bad taste, necessarily, but the balance is missing.
F: as a märzen style should be—substantial and without too much carbonation.
O: With a TJ's nearby and a $5.99/6 price, this will be an on-a-budget option in the future.
REVISIT: I'm revising down. After a couple of these, the burnt-biscuit linger started to take on a more metallic note, as if the biscuits had to be scraped off the cookie sheet. A beer cannot be sessionable if it turns on you.

From a bottle bought at Trader Joe's, pours a clear amber with a thi khaki head. Malt-forward with decent carbonation. It has a fairly full mouth-feel with even a bit of caramel …and… it was only $7.02 for a 6-pack.

With a dark bold amber color it’s…bitter and bland. Although it does have some nice dark biscuit and caramel flavors and aroma, it’s not enough to balance the bitterness of the beer. I highly recommend the Alleycat from Lost Coast Brewing as well as the [Carlsbad] Chronic Ale from Pizzaport over this.

Amber beer pours amber color, minimal head in the 1/4" range, off white. Aroma brought a more earthy woodsy, wet wood vibe than anything else. Wasn't impressed, was hoping for some degree of hops to come through.
Taste, while I appreciated the alt like (Alaskan came to mind) notes that are often interpreted as boring. All about the malt in this one. Too much metallic bitterness from possible over roasting, or just the acrid selection. Metal and wood make me feel like I'm part of a dungeons and dragons scavenger hunt project.

A: Dark amber color and much darker than other amber ales. It also has medium carbonation and little for lacing.
S: A solid malt character, bready, and not any present hop aroma.
T: A solid malt body but the malt has some harsh tones and sort of burned caramel character to it.
O: Overall, it's drinkable, but not particularly memorable.
