Purchased this Brown Ale at Trader Joe's. They've got a decent variety of rare cheap beers that I'm looking forward to trying.

A - Pours a dark reddish brown color. Creamy Head and held together pretty well until the last several gulps. Average amount of lacing.

S - Slightly metallic at first, though nothing repellant. Substantial scent of nuts. Sweet malts and a adolescent amount of carmel.

T - Bitter up front with some roasted malts. Roasted nuttiness. Finishes a little watery, but is over shadowed by most any other "watery" beer.

O - It's better than most brown ales I've had. It's gotten a good wrap with most reviews. There's really nothing too negative to say about this one.

Poured from a bottle into a 16 oz champaign flute. It has a lovely 2-3 cm tan head which settles down to nice lacing. The color is a lovely medium brown that shows some ruby color when held up to intense light. The aroma is rich and beautiful--malt, ripe fruit, and some hops. The first sip was amazing and blew me away--the flavor is a rich, complex blend of nutty maltiness, balanced hops, a bit of mocha, and some figs. Drinking this at room temperature (68 degrees in the winter) really opens up the rich aroma and flavor. The aftertaste is a delightful mild bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium thick and creamy. Overall this is an outstanding brown ale--I was really pleased and surprised by it.

A- looks like a black coffee during a red sunset. A nice creamy tan head.

S- Cocoa, brown sugar, coffee, mild roasted malts. A little bitterness behind that. Although a bit airy.

T- Starts with a modest malty roasted chocolate mocha, has a minor hop addition but it doesn't revive this beer much. The flavor in this one starts week and finishes flat on its face.

M- Way too watery for a brown ale. Not enjoyable.

O- Well that was unfortunate. Not too many good things to say about this one.

Clear dark brown with some ruby highlights. Tall light tan head that lasts and puts rings of lace as the head drops.
Smell is rich malts with a hint of mocha.
Taste is roasted malts a bit of mocha and some earthy bitterness from the hops.
Mouthfeel feels thin at first then feels closer to medium bodied. Carbonation is just enough. Finish is a bit sweet initially with a longer lasting medium dry bitter finish.
Overall a good example of the style. Perhaps a bit big for the style which I enjoyed.

22oz bomber, only a month old

Look is a dark cola color, mocha head, no sediment. Smell is dry leaves, English hops. Taste has hazelnut and subtle roast, finishing with a touch of hops. Feel is medium, slightly sticky, some cloying sweetness.

Good brown for the price.

Bottled 6/26. Served in Pint glass.

A: Quite Red appearance with a little brown copper. Head retention is nice, forms creamy 1/2 inch thick head if poured properly. The head dissipates to leave a mm of head and very thin lacing. On par head retention for style, but slightly larger bubbles, probably "larger" carbonation too.

A: Somewhat disappointing. Faint hazelnuts and brown sugar. Not much of a cream smell (which I would have liked)

T: Very mellow Brown Ale. Very pleasant roastiness upfront. Opens up a bit to give you some nuttiness and very faint caramel. Bitterness is mild, which is appreciated. Leaves nice nutty after taste with a barely detectable metallic taste.

O: Feels like a West Coast (Firestone Walked made) interpretation of an English-Style Brown. Another percent and a half of ABV would have helped the lack of body and sweetness of this beer. Very impressive 22oz brew for $1.99 @ Trader Joe's. Would buy again, but not my favorite style of beer. Misson Street line of beers offers great taste at great price.
