A: Jet black, no light penetration. 1/2in light tan head, that disapates fairly slowly leaving a thin layer of white lacing.
S: Strong smell of blackberries with hints of rosted malt and coffee.
T: I'm glad that the blackberry taste wasn't as strong as the smell, The blackberries are very subtle, lingering in the background. Roasted cofffee is the dominating flavor. Tastes kind of sour and tangy midtaste. Aftertaste is bitter like coffee. Hardly any hops noticable. After awhile the sourness started to become too much.
M: Pretty heavy, with small amount of carbonation, but enough to not taste flat.
D: A very tasty beer, but a little goes a long way. This is a good after dinner beer, or something to drink when you're only planning on having one beer. Even with the low ABV, I couldn't say this would make a good session beer as it's very rich. One of Wild Rivers better beers. I hope the brewer makes good on his promise of bottling this. Until then, I'll just have to keep coming in to have it on tap.
