served from brown 12 oz. bottle.
pours a bright bright red color. not just reddish, but really red! pinkish creamy head. very high clarity. appears to be pasteurized, but maybe just filtered.
smells de-frickin-licious. bouquet of fresh, ripe raspberries hits you. no cheapo artificial syrups here.
the raspberry flavor is what you first taste. but this is nothing like lindeman's framboise. it's not at all a sweet, syrupy beer. it's actually very dry and it tastes like celis may have used aged hops. the dryness really makes this one drinkable. there's nothing artificial about the taste, so don't expect a desert!
mouthfeel is a bit watery, but nice fine carbonation helps this. i can't help but wonder if it would be even better if it were bottle-conditioned.
overall, this is an insanely drinkable fruit beer. i absolutely love the all-natural raspberry flavor in this one. supremely drinkable.

I know some folks were not too impressed by this beer, but not expecting much when I tried it, I actually found it to be rather enjoyable. 2007 release
appearance, pours a rosy pink with a tiny bubbled head that disappeared at a center at a medium pace, but clung to the edges of the glass.
smelled sweet like candy and also like a doughy Belgian waffle with raspberry topping.
tasted creamy with an ever so slight tartness followed by sweetness. the raspberry's really stood out in the finish and upon exhaling.
mouth feel was thin, but smooth. this was a very drinkable beer. it just reminded me of what i'd call a breakfast beer. so sunday morning i enjoyed one with my curry scrambled eggs and home fries.

Apperaence: Red color, decent head and retention. Nothing special
Smell: Rasberry smell comes out strong especiall after swallowing.
Taste: Nice rasberry taste. Sort of like a purple haze approach, but a lot better.
Mouthfeel and Drinkability: nice refreshing crips beer. Easy to drink. A sessionable beer. I will reach for it in spring time.

I had this on tap at MBC and remembered liking it, so I picked up a bottle. I was totally surprised when it poured out pink! Very cool. It's pinkish-orange, forming a large pink-tinged white whipped head with very good retention and decent lacing. Aroma is very piquant, with strong raspberry notes, but also that cheesiness and funk that I like about the MBC Celis products. Carbonation is moderate. Tastes very good...at first a little cheesy and yeasty, with a touch of pale malt and clove notes before the semi-sweet and very fruity raspberry finale. The finish is just lightly candy-ish and soapy, but is not detracting. Mouthfeel is lightly spritzy and tart with a medium-light body and lightly ruddy coriander finish.
All in all, a very enjoyable beer. A dessert beer that will appeal to my girlfriend. Interesting character. This beer would be great on a hot summer day while lounging on the beach. Yummy.

Pours a bright orange color with a slight haze. Very fruity raspberry aroma with a slight citrus note as well. The raspberry comes out very nicely in the flavor as well; its just rich enough to be satisfyingly tasty but light enough to remain drinkable, its sweet but not too sweet and it doesnt have the freeze-dried quality that you find in so many other beers like this. But there is also a nice, balancing tartness. The mildly sharp tartness extends into the finish which effectively complements the light mouthfeel and mellow carbonation.
Specific a style as it might be, there are actually quite a few raspberry wheat beers out there, and this one is easily the best that Ive personally come across. Balanced, tasty, light and drinkable. Great summer beer. Recommended.

I liked this beer its a good summer drinking beer.
Pours a light amber with a good head that that stays around.
The smell is strong raspbeery and fruit.
The taste is of raspberries but not over powering.
The drinkability is good as I have sat down and polished off a 6 pack a couple times.
Wish I could get New Glarus but I can't so for now this beer will do.

This beer pours a light, clear red/orangish golden color. The fizzy white head dissappears almost instantly. Very little retention or lacing. Aromas of fruit and malt are quite evident indeed. Has a sweet taste of raspberry (obviously) and also malt and maybe a hint of bread or yeast as well. Also has a bit of a dry and sour aftertaste. Has a crisp mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Quite easy to drink. A pretty tasty beer overall.

Sample poured carefully from 12 oz bottle, bottle was approximately 6 months old at time of sampling. A very slight haze in a medium carbonated beverage capped by a small head. Color is copper to slight amber. Nose is sweet beery like, flavor starts malty sweet but is balanced by fruity berry bitterness, nice balance in flavor, finish turns sweet and long, nice beer.

Pours golden in color with reddish highlights and a very thin head that soon vanishes. Nose has a sugary cotton candy sweetness with a bit of coriander in the background. The taste begins with the same syrupy sweetness that was present in the aroma along with notes of vanilla. This is followed by a tart raspberry flavor that balances with the sweetness quite nicely and leads up to a bit of spice in the finish. I dont drink a lot of fruit beers, but this was pretty enjoyable.

Very nice color. I ws put off a bit at first but it really is quite a lovely beer. Pale pink with a slight golden tint to it. Aroma screams rasberries with a slight yeasty-ness to it. Flavor is a crisp, rasberry upfront. Theres a slight maltiness/wheat in the backround. Somewhat dry in the finish. Good body. Overall an enjoyable brew. I dont know how many I could do in a sitting. Good beer for a hot summer day.

The beer pours a light pink color with a 1/4" white head that quickly fades to lacing. The aroma is decent. It is a light raspberry scent. This is a scaled down version of the Celis I rememeber from Texas. The aroma is less intense. The taste is good. It has a smooth, fruity flavor along with light pale malt taste. Again, the TX version was fruitier; better. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a low bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a highly drinkable beer. It has a light fruit character along with a light malt taste.

Served in the 12 oz. bottle, into a goblet. The color is pink, with a wispy white head. The smell is a Kool-Aid raspberry. The taste starts with the raspberry, but the wheat takes over as the beer warms, and both meld quite well into the beer. Mouthfeel is average. As for drinkability, probably have a few.
I first had this one at Michigan Brewing, but decided to bring the beer home to write up. A nice little raspberry beer, with a good bit of flavor mixed together, and I'd likely have this one again.

I poured into a pint glass to two inches of fluffy, white head. The beer is a pale pink color. It smells strongly of raspberry. The taste is raspberry cream with Belgain yeast. It has a creamy mouthfeel. It goes down real easy on a hot fall day. It is a pretty sweet beer and probably wouldn't be great for sessioning due to that reason.

A- Transparent rose colored body. Body looks very similar to a blush wine. The small white head tapers off quickly. Leaves some lacing behind in the glass.
S- Very sugary. Smells like raspberry flavored candy. Bready malt smell is also detectable.
T- Initial taste is a dry, clean raspberry taste. Bread and hints of raspberry linger in the back of the palate. Suprisingly hints of alcohol are there too. Overall taste is pretty light.
M- Medium carbonation and light body.
D- This is a decent example of a fruit beer. I would drink it again. Great on a hot summer day. I probably wouldn't session it; but ti would be a good break from a session.

12 ounce brown bottle, showing no freshness indication. Pours a softly cloudy light tangerine tone, minor pinkish white tiny bubble head and some sticky lacing left behind. Nose is the expected fruity sweet stuff. It swell like fuity lifesavers candy. This is a sweet, fruity ale. Raspberry flavor is subtle and not over powering. Pleasing slight dryness in the finish. Nice summer beer or with dessert. Worth a try for fruit beer enjoyers. Good to try on the fairer sex and/or with newbies.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle a golden reddish color with a slight pink tone very little head with some lacing. Smells of sweet fruit and vanilla. Taste of raspberries and vanilla but not overly sweet with a tingle of carbonation on the tongue. A light fruity beer that is crisp and refreshing and not to sweet. Good for its style but some thing I don't normally crave.

Pours a clear orange goldish color with a fizzy white head. Smell is raspberries, coriander and cloves. Taste is spiced heavily with cloves and subtle raspberries. There is a good balance between the raspberries and the strong clove character. Mouthfeel is lighter in body....good carbonation. Great for the summertime. Drinkable for the most part.

Nice, mild raspberry smell and taste. Some bad memories of Sam Adams Cranberry Lambic flashed back to me at moments here, but they went away. A bit artificial in the raspberry taste but not the worst offender I've had. Very cool looking red-tinge to this on the pour.

This is a very light beer, not too sweet and doesn't have a lot of syrup body to it that you may expect from a raspberry beer. It has a nice light amber color, almost a light pink color that holds very little head retention. The nose is light as well, but it smells sweet with vanilla being more powerful of a smell than the raspberry, but the rasberry is there. It's a very light and clean beer with no residuals left. It also smells like a belgian. By that I mean you can smell the belgian candi smell with this beer. It's a decent beer and good for summer time but nothing I would go out and buy a case of.

Pours out a ever-so-slightly hazy golden color with a pure white head of foam. Fair amount of raspberry aroma. Taste is full of raspberries as well, both tart and sweet, but it's well-balanced with clean malt and a light bitterness (with no hop flavor). Body is medium with a crisp texture.
This seems quite a bit different than the original Celis Raspberry as brewed in Texas, which was overflowing with raspberry flavor and also almost cloyingly sweet. I appreciate this version's drier, less sweet character, but I somewhat miss the raspberries-out-the-wazoo of the older one.
