Appearance - Very light copper/orange color with a small head that looked real fizzy. Has decent lacing.

Smell - Nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin, and vanilla.

Taste - Definitely a spicy beer.. I pretty much taste everything I named in the smell. Somewhat bitter at the end.

Mouthfeel - Pretty thick and foams up a lot right as you sip it.

Overall - This is a pretty good pumpkin ale, just wish it wasn't so spicy. But then again it says it's a spiced ale.. lol. They did a good job making this.

Poured 12 oz. bottle into my Dogfish Head pint glass.

A: Creamy 2 1/2-finger head with consistent and thick lacing. Nice light copper color, too.

S: Plenty of cinnamon, buttered popcorn, apples, and pumpkin pie.

T: Butter and cream at first, quickly followed by a pumpkin pie sweetness. Smooth apple and cinnamon finishes and lingers.

M: Creamy with little carbonation. Nice cleansing finish.

O: Hands down, the best pumpkin ale I've had.

A- pours a transparent copper color with an off white head. left alil bit of lacing.

S- cinnamon, nutmeg, with alil vanilla.

T- just like smell but toned down a tad. if it warms up you can notice alil of the alcohol.

M- medium/light bodied. good carbonation.

Drinkability- knock down a 6 no problem.

Overall- this pumpkin beer you can't go wrong with. it's no pumpking but with the price you can't beat it. my guess would be around 6% abv. wouldn't mind to pick this up next halloween.

Very sweet and spicy. My first thought is candied yams with melted marshmallows. But there's a hint of Candy Korn too. Quite light bodied and not much mouthfeel. It's all in the astounding fragrance, which is vanilla and root beer. While is seems to have cinnamon and nutmeg as well, it definitely tastes like creamy rice pudding more than pumpkin pie.

Definitely interesting sweet seasonal, and a nice variation from the tiresome pumpkin pie overload that a lot of beer in this style have. Had a pint at Monarch in Grand Rapids.

Poured from a bottle into a standard pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a light, cloudy amber color with a half finger of creamy off white head. There is alright retention and some lacing as well.

Smell: Very sweet smelling pumpkin spice. Some brown sugar, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

Taste: There is malt sweetness here, but not as overpowering as the smell. A decent amount of pumpkin spice up front, but it fades a bit towards the end of each sip. The finish has a slight bitterness to it and is just a bit watery.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with a ton of carbonation and a mild dryness in the finish.

Overall: This beer started out well but the finish is a bit disappointing. Just alright and I don't need another.

Straight from fridge, poured into a pint glass.

A- pumpkin color! cloudy...perhaps a protein haze. thick foamy off-white head that dissipated but the lacing around edges persisted.

S- Upfront pumpkin pie spice- cinnamon and nutmeg. Couldn't detect any actual pumpkin. Picked up on some caramel malts and some mild hops.

T- Cinnamon and nutmeg spices that are obvious but not too overpowering. Not really any pumpkin if at all. caramel malts and background spicy hops.

M- Medium carbonation with a balanced mouthfeel.

Overall it's a pretty good "go to for the season" beer. It's a crisp beer where the spices aren't overwhelming and the malts and hops are still detectable.

Picked up while visiting Michigan for the CBS release.

Appearance – Pours into a tulip with a haze orange color. About a finger of slowly dissipating off white head is achieved. Many bubbles can be seen coming up from the bottom of the glass.

Smell – Lots of nice pumpkin spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, malty backbone, vanilla, and clove.

Taste – Wow, this tastes pretty damn good. I wish I would have picked up more of these. It has wonderful pumpkin flavors that taste REAL and not fake. Pumpkin pie crust, great cinnamon and nutmeg intermixed, a hint of ginger, and finishes with a bit of vanilla.

Mouthfeel – Medium bodied, slightly creamy, spritzy carbonation which in my opinion makes it easier to drink.

Overall – Not only is the packaging sweet looking, but the beer itself was a pleasant surprise. A fantastic pumpkin beer, one of the best I’ve had.

12 ounce bottle, no bottle date, but I am pretty sure it is this years batch. Pours slightly hazy and cloudy golden amber color with 1-2 fingers of a fairly dense white head with very good retention; that reduces to a fairly thick lacing cap. Not much lacing on the glass. Tons of carbonation streaming from the bottom of the glass. Aromas of huge amounts of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, caramel, and pumpkin. Huge on the spices, but this smells fantastic. Taste of cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg, pumpkin, caramel, and other spices. Not much bitterness noticed, but there are lingering notes of cinnamon, clove, bread, caramel, and other spices. Medium carbonation and body, with a bit of a creamy mouthfeel as well. No alcohol noticed other than a small warming after the finish, and this is very drinkable and smooth. Overall an excellent and drinkable pumpkin ale for the fall season!

A - Gold in color with a thick bubbly toffee colored head.

S - Pumpkin, pumpkin spices, and a sweet caramel malt aroma.

T - Has a few different flavors going on and they all go very well together. Starts out with a nice caramel malt flavor and then has a pumpkin and a pumpkin spice flavor. Also, has a really intense molasses flavor that really adds a new depth to this beer.

M - Light bodied and lightly carbonated.

O - Wow! Now this is a real pumpkin beer! A great combination of pumpkin, spices, and molasses. Almost taste like a cross between a pumpkin pie, a Molasses cookie, and a Ginger snap. Pretty awesome. By far the best pumpkin beer I've tried this year. I'll have to pick up a few more of these yet this year before they're gone.

12 oz. bottle.

Partly cloudy pumpkin orange with brassy highlights. Thick finger of whipped, very light beige head. Great lacing. Pumpkin pie nose. Lots of spices: nutmeg, cloves, vanilla, and maybe allspice. Plenty of graham cracker and caramel malt as well. Very nice.

Some lightly toasted grains up front, followed by lightly-sweetened pumpkin pulp. Graham cracker and caramel malt come through, providing a nice backbone for a blanket of clove, allspice, nutmeg, and maybe a hint of cinnamon. Moderate body, with a slightly creamy feel. Finish is flush with spices and traces of sweetened pumpkin-y malt. One of the best "non-imperial" pumpkin ales I've had. Nice job MBC!

friends and I split a case, all four of us like it and there are few that we agree on. It was fairly priced at Hopewell Beverage. the screamin' pumpkin is something nice to drink in fall to mix it up a bit. It does not give you that pumpkin pie taste some of the other pumpkin flavored beers do its more on the spiced side.

Pours out a dark orange with a foamy white head that maintains really good retention and superb lacing. The scent is nutmeg, pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger, and all-spice giving this beer a great aroma that makes you want to taste it. The taste starts out with pumpkin mixed with sweet malts followed by some spices and finishes with pumpkin and nutmeg, even tough cinnamon is very strong in the middle. The mouthfeel is a medium bodied brew that leaves a bite and clings to the tongue thanks to the spices. Overall this is one of the best pumpkin beers I have tasted so far and one i'll be buying more of.

This is a good solid pumpkin beer. I've been tasting a lot of them again for the second season in a row and now I'm on the hunt for the perfect one, this isn't quite it but it's a head of many from this years crop. A brown/orange color with nice pumpkin spice notes in the aroma. Well rounded by a slightly malty base beer without a whole ton of bittering hops and the carbonation and head were good for the style. Overall good but not exceptional. I would drink this again.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: This pours a translucent light caramel color with a foamy off-white that shows good retention and leaves a bit of lace on the glass.

Smell: The aroma is very good. Lots of cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice combine with the pumpkin to give a nice pumpkin-forward aroma. Lightly sweet malt in the background.

Taste: The malt comes in a bit too soft. Slightly sweet but lacking enough punch, the pumpkin really dominates the flavor along with the spices. Cinnamon mostly, but a bit of nutmeg and all spice contribute to the pumpkin pie flavor. The end has an astringent grassy bitterness that is fairly off-putting. The finish is a little bit bitter.

Mouthfeel: The body is a little bit light for what I would like given the flavor profile. The malt really does not hold up to the strong pumpkin and spices. The carbonation kind of gets lost. It starts light sweet and sticky, but by the end there is a light astringency.

Overall: The aroma is by far the best part about this beer. The taste is a little bit off to me with the lack of balance between the malt and pumpkin and also the astringent bitterness that comes in at the end. There are better pumpkin beers out there.

This beer poured out as a nice looking copper color, not much head though. The lacing was no where in sight. The smell of this beer was a little sweet with brown sugar and had some spice on the nose as well. The taste of the beer was like the smell, sweet spicy and had a dry finish. The mouthfeel was generously carbonated and had a medium body to it. Overall this beer wasn't too bad, definitely not my favorite pumpkin ale, but might be worth trying.

Aroma:Smells a little spicy.

Appearance:Orange, good head.

Taste:The foretaste is sweet, spicy, and delicious. Very quickly the taste turns a little acrid in the midtaste. It's like the sweetness leaves the room and all you have left is some harsh spice flavor.

Mouthfeel:This beer has a light body, and good carbonation.

Drinkability:This pumpkin ale makes the same mistake that a lot of these do, and just spices it up too much, overblown.

The beer was slightly amber and translucent. I picked up nutmeg and pumpkin spice immediately. Despite the light appearance, the aroma led me to expect a warming sensation in the mouth, but I wasn't disappointed that I was wrong. None of the flavor was overpowering and I found it very drinkable.
