This is specially brewed for Shakepeare's Pub in Kalamazoo by Michigan Brewing Co. Tap handle is a bobblehead. Reddish and clear in the pint glass with a small head. Smells hoppy and citrusy, tastes similar and hops are massive, bitter and a little cloying. A bit sweet and run-of-the-mill, but decent. I'd get it again, especially since it's not at all expensive (they even sell sixers of it at the pub).

At Shakespeare's pub and purchased a point of the ironic ale. Scott personally waited on me and the service is tip notch. The beer has great carbonation with light pacing and small thin head. Smell of oranges and floral hops. Easy drinking taste Like light pine and easy hop notes. Nice and light on the pallet easy to drink. Great IPA for house beer.

It pours a brilliant copper color with a slight cloudiness. The frothy head slowly dissipates and the beer coats the glass well. The carbonation couldn’t be better.
Enjoyable hop profile and a somewhat full and malty body combine to make this beer very drinkable. An above average IPA at a fantastic price ($1.80/ 12 oz bottle at Oliver T’s in Grand Blanc, MI).

This is the better of the two special-made beers at Shakespeares (the other being Aloha Ale, which is soon to be retired according to signs on the wall). Ironic Ale is pretty popular with the locals, especially on days when it's only $2.50 a pint.
Looks decent, clear orange/yellow with some red, not much of a head. Smell is mostly hops. Taste is also mostly hops, strong but not over the top. In fact, i think the strength of the hops taste is just about perfect, I just wish it was balanced a little bit with some malts or other flavors. Mouthfeel is average, and drinkability is good. Definately try this one if you're at Shakespeares, especially since it's only available there.
