On tap at the Pizza Plant on Main, poured into a goblet a hazy peach orange color with a thin but tight well retained head.A mix of aromas, deep resiny, piney hop mixed with alcohol dipped dark fruit and sweet caramel.Flavors seem to me more like a strong ale than DIPA sure it has the big dose of resiny goodness but also there is that dark fruit and caramel sweetness along with a light leatheriness to it.Its not in your face and its different but its still pretty damn good,a nice find last night.

Acquired via trade from plaztikjezuz, so a big "Thank you" goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light brown color, with a thin off-white head that fades quickly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma is of caramelized malts, hops and citrus.

T: The taste is very nicely balanced with flavors of citrus and caramel sweetness, a good floral hops bitterness and a hearty malt character. There's no hint of the 10.20% ABV. The after-taste is slightly sweet.

M: Smooth and crisp, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

D: Pretty tasty, goes down dangerously easily, not too filling, strong kick, nice representation of style. The after-taste is slightly sweet. It's definitely not the hop bomb that most 2IPA's are and even though I prefer that type of beer, this beer is very good.

Pours (from an unmarked bottle...awesome) a hazy orange/gold, with no real head but nice rings of white lacing.

Smell is pleasant, aged hops with a nice malt backing. Very easy-going with just a slight sour edge.

Taste is alot like the smell, very flavorful but subdued hoppiness with a great alcohol warmth to back it up. Not very complex, but extremely enjoyable.

Mouthfeel is perfect, thick for the hops and thin on the palate.

Drinkability is very good, considering the abv.

Overall, an excellent beer that should be bottled and distributed all the time. I'm lucky I got one (thanks to david131).

A- A deep, cloudy orange with a nice white head that leaves excellent lacing. Absolutely beautiful.

S- Caramel, pine, some alcohol, and just a hint of fruitness. Not too shabby.

T- Wow, this is serious business. Pine and caramel with a very warming, but not harsh, alcohol presence. I was told this was bottled over the summer of '08; I can't imagine how crazy this would have been back then.

M- Definitely bitter and dry. Oily and kind of harsh. This is what I expect from a DIPA.

D- This is a huge sipper. The alcohol is not harsh, but very warm. Overall, this is worth seeking out for any DIPA fan.

A - Pours an opaque orange/tan color, very mild lacing, no carbonation, and overall looks pretty darn inviting.

S - Probably the weakest attribute of this beer. For this style and ABV, there could be ALOT more going on in the nose - very disappointing.

T - Very nice orange tang, sweet caramel and cracker-like malt. Also has some pineapple and spice with moderate alcohol presence and warming on the way down. There's also some floral/flowery characteristic and is perfectly balanced throughout. The blend is flavorful and even, more so than alot of D-IPA's I've had in the past. The ABV is not particularly well hidden (who cares...really?)

M - Very mild with some prickly carbonation on the tongue. Has a heavy/light body, thick, and chewy.

D - Very, very good. This beer has a nice steady balance across the entire sip.

This one is definitely worth seeking out. I've never had this one before and enjoyed it so much that I took a growler home for my wifeand I. (She really enjoyed it also.) My own opinion, an awesome and relatively unheard of D-IPA.

Received a growler of this in October and never got around to finding people to share it with until the end of December. I was told it wouldn't last, but it was great!

It poured thick and dark copper.

The hops wafted up quite strongly.

The hops were definitely apparent in the taste. Although strong, the bite didn't bring the drinkability down at all. Overall, I enjoyed it and will be looking to pick up another growler when it's offered.

I had this on tap at the Oak Cafe in Wyandotte, MI. The beer was auburn color, clear, with a thick poof of wet foam. The smell hinted that high volumes of both hops and malts were used to produce this beverage. Nicely balanced but very aggressive. Not easy to pound but difficult to stop sipping.

Overall it was a nice IIPA, possibly closer to a barleywine (Bigfoot-style) like a few other IIPA's have done (Stone 10th comes to mind).
