Celis Grand Cru
Michigan Brewing Company
Thank you to drxandy for the trade.
This brew is a transparent, pale, straw yellow color with a multitude of bubbles rushing to the surface. A nice white head sits above the surface with decent retention and good lacing.
Sweet, wheat, yeasty smells fill the aroma. The smell is nothing extraordinary, but neither offensive nor overwhelming.
A soft, subtly sweet flavor of yeast hits the palette up front. This beer is smooth and mellow on the way down with a kick of spice at the back of the throat masking the alcohol flavor nicely. A watery, wet finish is followed by a very mellow aftertaste with lingering hints of bananas.
This beer has a medium to light body with noticeable carbonation. It also provides the drinker with a nice warming sensation throughout the drinking experience.
Overall, this is a rather refreshing brew. It is light and airy. The alcohol is masked beautifully, and provides a smooth finish. I could see myself with a few of these on a sunny afternoon.
