Pours a very slightly hazy yellow body with light head. The scent is sharp in some noble hop and boozy-malt character. The taste is very crisp from the hops, and provides a nice delicate finish, but nothing like other German pilseners can achieve. Pretty good, I like it.

Pours (from 500mL can) an ever-so-slightly chill-hazed transparent gold, capped with decent (albeit quick receding head) that leaves lots of lacing.

Smell is classic pils: herbal, slightly spicy, bready, doughy, yeasty, biscuit/cracker. Slight vegetal funk. Taste is much the same: initial decent fruitiness, then rather crisp, clean--slight bittering hops, vegetal, herbal. Faint peppery spice and lots of bready, doughy pale malt. Good low-moderate carbonation, nice body. Slightly drying, yeasty finish.

This is kind of a standard-bearer pilsner for me: it's not setting the world on fire, but it's a nice demonstration of the style: crisp, clean, really refreshing and likeable--subtle, and yet (when you pay attention) there's a decent amount going on. Krombacher makes the only non-alcoholic beer I can stomach; it's not surprising that when they're given free reign, the results are even better.

Mild yellow pour with lots of clarity yields a white head with a grip of carbonation to boot. Aroma was mild grains.

Taste was decent noble hops, high carbonation on the mouthfeel, watery and mild overall. Go for the grains if you want this one. Let it open up a little if the high carbonation is too obnoxious and you want a milder experience.

500ml bottle (exp. 06/05/2016, bottled 06/05/2015), in a pilsner glass. Golden color. Lots of white and dense foam, with medium retention. Sweet, but has a little bitterness on aftertaste. Some grassy hops on nose, that get weaker on taste. Light body. Not very crispy. I got some feel of soap on mouth at a moment, so that I wouldn't have another of this.

Bier ist nicht sehr angenehm, mittelmäßig. Nichts Besonderes ist nicht zu sehen. Der Geruch nicht machen viel Eindruck. In herkömmlichen Farb Pils. Probieren Sie gewöhnliche, steht nichts aus.

I tried this German beer at the suggestion of the store owner. I explained to him that I prefer a more "Octoberfest" type of beer. (I do not care, much, for hops. Most beers today have WAY TOO MUCH hops for my taste) He thought this beer would be one I would like. He was right. There is no heaviness to this beer. It is easy on the taste, with a fair hops taste, but without the overpowering hops presence. The hops was bitter, but not too much. A lot of beers I have tried that overdo the hops have a sour aftertaste. Not this one. It is hops bitterness with flavor, not with sour. I drink straight from the bottle, so I can not tell you whether the foam was laced, crocheted or otherwise. Who the hell cares any way? You are drinking the beer, not wearing it. I can see drinking this beer on a hot summer day and reaching for another one. It has a balanced taste and a good flavor. It does not overpower your tongue with any "lemon" or "citrus" or "bread", my gosh guys, it is a beer, not a quiche. It has a good taste and I enjoyed drinking it, hops and all.

Purchased at the LCBO for around $2.20 for a 500ml can. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass.

A- Opens well and pours a 2" high white head that lasts for 4-5mins before film out. Rather light gold colour and filtered clear

S- Not much here at all

T- Not bad. Has a green bite to it. Pretty much a North American mass produced brew with a European hop flavor to it. Nothing to write home about.

M- Just like a North American mass produced brew.

O- Good but not great. Will not buy again but I'm not saying it's bad or anything. Just average

Food Pairing

This ok brew went ok with............ Pretty much anything you would pair a Bud with. Kind of disappointing really.

Enjoy

Pale gold pour (4) with tight fluffy two fingers of white head; good lace and clarity. Slight corn (DMS) nose and spicy floral hops; biscuit with honey aromas too. Bitter hop/mineral/lite grainy semi sweet malt underneath flavors; dry bitter finish. Light mouthfeel and light, dry body. Overall, bitter mineral/sulfur long lasting linger that challenges the floral hop presence.

Pours a sun yellow color, with a very stable, one finger broad head.

Smells of rich wheat, together with a whiff of leafy hops and biscuity, distinct malts. Actually pleasant on the nose, the archtype of a german industrial Pils.

Has a high carbonation, still creating a smooth mouthfeel, due to well pronounced wheat and malts.

Tastes of a wheat infused maltiness, soon accompanied by leafy hops, which then get washed away by evolved, more distinct and sweeter malts. Finishes with a pleasant, white bread maltiness, which got a toffee note to it, among wheat and the bubbly carbonation.

Nothing wrong with this beer, very typical for what you can expect from an industrial Pils, with a remarkable, creamy mouthfeel. Its features also the typical hop shortage in these beer, replaced by sugary sweetness, which makes me usually seeking out for smaller brewing operations in Germany.

This smells like corn and dirt. There is some slightly sweet corn in the taste as well. Medium texture. A fairly standard pilsner but, overall, a solid effort.

I have read the top rated pilsners in America. Rankings putting American craft brews as the best.
Simply absurd. For some reason, America cannot brew a decent true Pilsen.
This is world class. It sits on the tongue just right for a pilsner. Some golden midranged sweetness, subtle just right tang and some bitterness at the end with a hint of sour. But overall golden warmth of summertime, refreshing and clean. Great beer with food or as a session beer. I like to have one strong ipa, A belgian ale or a dunkel weiss and then switch to this for the rest of the night. Not too strong but gets the job done and not so sugary. Does not make you feel like crap the next day like drinking too many high calorie double ipa's

Clear pale straw color with moderate activity. White 1 finger head, lasting around 5 minutes, with good legs.

Faint citrus smell. Flavors of sweet grains, corn, lemon, banana, honey, vegetal, herbal spices. Well balanced sweet taste with a nice sharp crispy feel. Grassy and slightly syrupy.

Medium body with prickly carbonation. Faint finish of medium length, ending with a slightly bitter and skunky noble spices.

Overall a decent craft with nice flavors, but a little faint, and some good freshness.

Had on tap in Berlin, poured into a beer stein.

L: Poured a clear light golden color with thick white head.

S: Grains and vegetable. Minimal hops.

T/F: Light malt sweetness and vegetable taste. Faint skunk. Bitter finish. Very carbonated and a bit fizzy.

O: One of the few beers I had in Germany that I really didn't care for. When it comes to Pilseners stick with the Czechs.

Had on tap at the Publican in Chicago. Pours brilliant straw gold under a 1” white foam cap. Malty with a spicy hop nose. Light malts lead the attack with a spicy bitter hop finish. Creamy, clean and crisp with medium light gody and medium high carbonation. A good but not great German Pilsener.

German beers consistently are in the top league of beer and this now international brew is one of the better examples. Full of flavour, refreshing and quality. As with any proper beer the difference in taste between bottled and canned is considerable and personally I only take the bottled version.

This beer reminds me of tastier version of a Budweiser or PBR. It's very easy to drink and I do enjoy the light mouth-feel. The balance of hops and malt is appreciated.

Maybe I just got a fresher bottle or something, but I think this better this its rAvg, with a good bready pils malt character quite present. I'm sure there are scads of better examples in Germany, but as far as imports go, I thin you could do a lot worse than this.

Update: got an older bottle and the pils malt and hops had definitely fallen off some, but it didn't turn into anything undrinkable. Really just a toned down version of itself. Gonna leave the score for now, as I have a feeling fresh it could really be quite nice.

12 fl oz. can, with canned on date 04/30/2014, and best by 04/30/2015 printed on the bottom of the can. Acquired this oddity as part of a mixed six pack from the local Binny's, my first encounter with any beer from this brewery.

Poured into a miniature Victorian carriage adorned pint glass.

A - It pours a nice bright golden yellow; lightly cloudy with some big sediment floating in the glass to my surprise. Three big fluffy fingers of thick white head that stays for a while and leaves behind good fluffy lacing.

S - The aroma is simple, yet pleasant. Sweet honey, bread, and malt. Grainy & husky.

T - The taste follows the nose - grainy, wheaty, corny, husky. Light bready / honey sweetness.

M - The feel is crisp, grainy, & clean. Lightly malty / papery / husky on the finish. Solid carbonation; very easy drinking.

Overall, a prime example of the style. Simple, yet refined. Definitely a german pilsner I wouldn't mind slamming all day during the heat of summer.

Drank in a Stein at Belfast NI Oktoberfest 2014

Appearance – A good amber golden colour with decent CO2 activity in the glass. This beer raised a great head that lasted well over the average 3-4 minute marker. There was also a lot of heavy lacing from this beer.
Smell – The nose in this beer was very much dominated by the malt profile. The hop aromas were somewhat lost as the beer was served in a Stein glass. There was some evidence of solvent in the aroma but it was not enough to be a problem for me personally.
Taste – The malt aromas from the nose were very noticeable in the flavour of this beer and the lost hops finally came through here. There was a decent amount of mild sweetness from the malt and a nice bitter finish from the hop. This beer was straight up and did what it set out to do and it did it very well.
Mouthfeel – The CO2 gave great tingle in this beer that had very nice body and amazing linger.
Overall – This beer is pretty damned good. The flavour profile is pretty much exactly what a Pilsner in this style should be. Of all the German Pils I have had the pleasure to drink this is one of the best.

A: Poured into a pint glass, this is a crystal clear pale straw colored beer with a dense, tall head, about 3/4ths of an inch.
S: Aroma is a bit disappointing. Putting my nose close to the class, I do get the appropriate pils malt aroma, with light noble hops.
T: Disappointing bitterness as well--fairly low, with little hop flavor. Malt is alright, but what's a German pils that just relies on malt?
M: average.

Disappointing pils. I've been in the mood for German pils lately, and I'd never tried this one before.
