Serving Type - 500ml can poured into a pilsner glass.

Appearance - Pours a golden straw colour with 3 fingers of bright white, foamy head which appears to have a good deal of retention. There appears to be a great deal of carbonation. Pretty enough, even for a pilsner.

Smell - Cereal and grains, with some light grassy notes.

Taste - Bread-y tasting. Cereal and grains from the nose are present here as well. Light malt notes linger towards the finish.

Mouthfeel - Very light, very high carbonation. Makes for a crisp finish.

Overall - 3.25/5 Nothing particularly stand out-ish about this pils. Not bad by any means, but it doesn't stand out either. As compared to other German pils it may be on the lighter side.

Serving: Bottle, poured into footed pilsener glass
Served: 9 Jun 13

Appearance: Looks like a pils. Nice and golden-yellow with a big foamy white head that slowly collapses over the course of drinking it. Laces for a while when the head is still present. After the head dies down, so does the lacing. Looks great for a pilsener.

Smell: Smells 'beery' and boring. There's a hint of a hop smell, but you really need to search in order to find it. There seems to be some sort of smellable aroma from the noble hops.

Taste: Tastes bready and dry. There were some astringent tastes on the front end, but towards the middle of the glass, the stronger tastes seem to have mellowed out a bit. Maybe these tastes originated from the age (it was a few months past the "best by" date). The taste is not very complicated and the weird flavor and dryness does not leave the most positive impression.

Mouthfeel: Feels light(er) like a pils, but the medium carbonation really makes it spritzy. Refreshing, and invites subsequent sips, but mostly in order to counteract the dryness of the taste.

Overall: A decent pils, but by no means the best from Germany or the most representative of the style. Very easy drinking. Very cheap and widely available in Germany, which gives it a poor reputation in Germany as a 'Fernsehbier' (television-beer). I would not seek this one out.

Bought in Sarajevo, at a neighborhood grocery store. Pours clear golden color with a creamy head that leaves decent lacing. Smells slightly grassy with a touch of sour aroma. Moderate carbonation, some hop bitterness and decent presence of malty sweetness. Smooth and drinkable but not outstanding, nothing to distinguish this beer from other similar ones, just an average German pilsner.
