Bright golden colour, one finger of sticky white head, dense with lots of lace. Smell is grainy and biscuity, light floral hop and grassy and earthy notes, a touch metallic as well. Taste is of cracker like malt, some grassy-lemony hops, grainy, more of the metallic character detected in the nose, long malty aftertaste. Medium carbonation, crisp medium body. While not wholly satisfying it was still an OK drink but that being said it is most likely one and done for me.

A - bright straw golden, fairly tall white head after an aggressive pour, retained fairly well
S - fairly strong aroma of adjunct, grassy, some metallic
T - similar to the nose although the grassy hops are a little more prominent
M - light, crisp, clean, and medium dry finish
O - its on the mark in terms of ease of drinking and feel, but it is just a little lacing in the flavour department, I get the feeling this is a 'get it down your gullet' type of mass consumed brew in Germany, not bad but an average pils

500ml Can from the Ottawa LCBO for 2.10$

Appearance - Clear golden yellow colour with an average size fizzy white coloured head. There is an above average amount of carbonation showing and there is some faint lacing. The head lasted for 3-4 minutes.

Smell - Malts, breads/grains, herbal notes, corn

Taste & Mouth - There is an above average amount of carbonation and I can taste malts and corn mixed with some peppery/herbal notes. There is also a bit of an apple juice sweetness. It ends with a grainy slightly bitter aftertaste.

Overall - While it is very drinkable I was hoping for a little more of a refreshing taste/flavour. It had a grainy/herbal bitterness to it that seemed to take away from the crispness. Still a decent beer, just not something I'd buy again.

From a ½ liter can, this brew is light and golden. The head is puffy, white, and nicely soapy. There's a respectable lace. The beer presents a perfumy, hoppy smell that's backed with a little pale malt. Not bad, actually. There's a bit of a bread and dough flavor that comes out in the taste. Unfortunately, there's a bit of a metallic quality that shows up in the mid-taste. The finish is subtle and soft. Medium to light in mouthfeel, with a smooth quality. This is a respectable and nicely drinkable brew.

Served in a tall Kromberg glass.

A: A great looking beer. Pale and crystal clear with a thick fluffy white head that left substantial lacing through the entire 30 min drink...

S: Grain and very light vegetal aroma with no discernible hop character.

T: Grain, with a light bitterness but once again no substantial hop flavours. A touch better than a BMC lager, but really, nothing to make me excited by this beer.

M: Crisp, clean finish. No aftertaste.

D: When your appearance is the best thing by far, and you are a product to be consumed, that is not a good sign.

Serving Type - 500ml can poured into a pilsner glass.

Appearance - Pours a golden straw colour with 3 fingers of bright white, foamy head which appears to have a good deal of retention. There appears to be a great deal of carbonation. Pretty enough, even for a pilsner.

Smell - Cereal and grains, with some light grassy notes.

Taste - Bread-y tasting. Cereal and grains from the nose are present here as well. Light malt notes linger towards the finish.

Mouthfeel - Very light, very high carbonation. Makes for a crisp finish.

Overall - 3.25/5 Nothing particularly stand out-ish about this pils. Not bad by any means, but it doesn't stand out either. As compared to other German pils it may be on the lighter side.

Poured into a lager glass. Slightly dark golden, with about a 1/2 inch of head. Left a fairly substantial ring, some lacing.

Nose is typical pilsner - bitter hops, light malts. Nothing distinguishable.

A surprisingly malty pilsner, with notes of honey. Finishes with leafy hop bitterness, but not nearly as much as I'd expected. Almost pushing into blonde territory.

Lower carbonation, slightly creamy. Smooth.

Not bad, very knock-backable. Nothing special, however, and not one I'll actively seek out again.

I had a sixteen ounce pour of this at the Amsterdam Ale House in Manhattan's Upper West Side. Not my favorite pilsner, and I typically enjoy german pilsners better than others.

Appearance was a light gold/straw. Very fluffy head that did stick around for a while.

Aroma was a little light. Some hops, a little light biscuit but overall not much there.

Flavor was perfectly fine, just not out of this world. Tasted like a pilsner but not as much bite on the tongue that I usually like from a German Pilsner.

Light, clear, gold with a modest, fuzzy off-white foam lid.

Light musty earthy hops and sweetish, lemon and pale grain.

Tastes very similar. Some sweet grainy base, lightly lemony-metallic, and skunkish noble, lightly spicy hops. Light, crisp, smooth.

Not bad, not good.

330ml bottle poured into a pint glass.

A - Poured a clear gold with a 3cm white foamy. The head reduced to a 0.5cm foamy cap that lasted a while. Good amount of lacing is produced.

S - Grassy at first with a backing of light malts and light citrus notes.

T - Mild sweetness, very light tang, and a mild bitter finish.

M - Good carbonation. Crisp finish. Some slipperiness.

D - A bit light in flavour, even for a Pilsner, but still a decent one to drink.

look: 3.5 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 2.75 | overall: 3.25

Poured from an 11.2oz can into a glass

A: Pours a lovely golden color with light haze. There is a solid cap of foam on top interspersed with medium sized bubbles. Moderate curtains of lace.

S: Smells of grain and light caramel. Some moderately potent noble hops give the aroma a good, crisp character.

T: Grains are prominent again, and provide most of the body for the beer. A little bit of toffee sweetens the deal up a bit before being cut back by a decent dose of noble style hops and a slight flavor of alcohol. Finish is fairly long for the style (which is still fairly brief) and consists mostly of a lingering floral hops and light malt.

M: Fairly thin, bordering on watery. Carbonation is medium-low but foamy and effervescent, which combats the watery-ness.

O: Nothing special. Easy drinking enough and better than BMC, but not a remarkable in anyway.

Enjoyed on tap in a big Krombacher mug.

A - classic Pils appearance: clear straw color with a fluffy head that melts away leaving some streaky lacing.

S - fresh straw hops with a bready malt backing

T - crisp but quite dilute; light initial hops touch, grassy with the slightest citrus hint backed my minimal bready malt

M - very light with moderately sharp carbonation; crisp and refreshing

D - super sessionable - seems more likely to get you hydrated rather than drunk

Decent, but not great. Not the most solid Pils i've had unfortunately.

A Brownish-Amber beer with a very good head and good lacing after drinking. This was the first Pilsner that I managed to get a decent amount of foam with. The smell was good with a sweet overtone and a little bread. The taste was a bit of a let-down as there wasn't much there. You could feel the beer down the middle of the palate and it hit all the sensors, but it just did not thrill me. Overall, an okay beer.

A - This one is almost clear with only the slightest hint of a haze, and the color is a dull light-yellow-bronze. The head is about two solid fingers of white crispy foam, and a good amount of fluffy lace is left on the glass.

S - Fresh biscuits and crackers. This isn't as "saltine" smelling as others of the style, but it still has that cracker note... just minus the salt. I detect what reminds me of freshly baked warm white bread like the Amish make.

T - Like the nose, this is a lot like warm white bread and dinner rolls. This is less hoppy than some other German pilseners, and the overall flavor is more malty and a tad fruity. There are little hints of apricot on the back end, but the fruit is only barely noticeable.

M - Light bodied, crisply carbonated, and clean with a fluffy feeling left in the mouth after swallowing. that fluff only serves to increase the general "loaf of airy white bread" like Sunbeam sliced bread that I'm getting here.

D - Extremely quaffable and easy drinking. Lacks the complexity of some of the better examples of the style, but its still a pleasing beer to slake a thirst after a workout (as I'm doing just now). Not bad, but slightly forgettable. This is one of those beers that I'll probably pick up again without realizing that I've already tried it... then I'll get home and check BA and be slightly aggravated that I didn't recall ever having it. (That happens a lot with German beers since all of the bottles have the same shape and many of the labels lack the cartoony or artistic imagination of Belgian or American breweries).

500 ml can from LCBO for $2.25 CDN poured into a pint glass.

Appearance - Light golden color looks very clean and poured with 2 fingers of head and decent retention. While the head dis there it looks nice and creamy on top. Minimal bubbles rising to the top even just after the pour. Some lacing left in the glass.

Smell- Faint grainy smells, grassy as well. Faint hops are also there. Don't know if it was because the beer was from a can but almost a metallic scent as well.

Taste- Clean, crisp with some bitterness. Any hops and malts flavors imbued in this beer are very faint and barely detectable.

Mouthfeel - Nice and wet. Medium low carbonation that gives the beer a certain fullness. Nonetheless not thin, but not as full as other pilseners I've tasted.. Soft finish and minimal aftertaste is pleasant.

Overall - a good pilsener that is better than many, but wish there was a little more in the aroma department up front. Certainly a thirst quencher, but would prefer other pilseners in comparison to this one.

Bottled 2/5/13. Best before 2/5/14.

Pours a clear gold with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thin rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is intensely skunky after the pour but it dissipates over time and gives way to some malt, grain, and grassy aromas. Taste is much the same with grain and grassy flavors on the finish. There is a very mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable but the initial blast of skunk is quite unpleasant.

Big white head leaves a thin white layer of head/lacing covering the entire top of a clear golden colored pils.

Sour to lightly skunk aroma with some light bread like malts.

A light sourish taste than the aroma would have suggested, the taste also has some light grain malt with a light bitter hops kick that seems to be its saving grace.

A dry aftertaste with a slight bitter nip on this light bodied beer.

Can, half a litre at home. Poured a golden yellow colour with a two finger head that soon went away, but stayed enough to protect the surface. Average bubbles rising to the top. Aroma is of malts and something I can't put my finger on, but quite pleasant. Taste is bitter and metallic. Medium bodied, leaves a dryness on your tongue. Average carbonation. Overall one step ahead of your average german pilseners.
