Bottle purchased at Huckleberry's for $1.29. Probably the last time I'll see any beers by Orchard Street being sold anywhere, as they are now defunct. I've yet to try it from the bottle, though I had it on-tap last fall at the Viking.
Poured a dark copper color. Very cloudy. Huge, creamy, off-white head. Big heads seem to have been a hallmark of this brewery.Moderate amounts of lace left behind.
Smell is rather spicy Definitely a Holiday Season beer.
Taste is the spices one would encounter in a fruitcake. There's also a shot of something that leaves a juniper note, followed by a dry finish.I think this could stand to be a little more maltiness to balance things out, but it still tastes pretty good.
Mouthfeel is a little bit thin. It actually seems to become thinner during the course of tasting it, if that makes any sense. Could use a little more body.
This a perfectly capable winter warmer. I bought another bottle to try it under those circumstances next fall.

the appearance is nice and dark brown with a good medium size head on it. The aroma is of multiple spices with nice hoppy undertones. The taste is just a little off to me. I think that the body is a little weak (I was expecting a heavier beer based on the aroma). Since the body is a little weak it makes the spices come out more making the beer a little overspiced for me. Overall I think it is a good beer that I would definately purchace again, I just think it could be refined a bit to be a little better balanced.

Had this at the taphouse.. this is from "paper napkin" notes. Amber in color with a light white head. Smells like X-Mas with some piney, nutmeg and fruity sweet smells. Flavors very much mirror those in the nose with the fruit and nutmeg most dominant. Bitterness well balanced to the point where it's percieved but not dominant. Very nice beer.

This beer has a deep dark roasty color. The aroma of nutmeg and ginger jump right at your nose. The taste is as appealing as the aroma. This holiday beer will place any Scrooge in the Christmas spirit.
