33cl brown bottle, sample from the importer.
Thin lacing at the start, mildly hazed dull golden amber hue. Smells of fresh spruce, ripe pears, & a faint alcohol. Crisp and a little slick with a medium body. Spruce with hints of lemon pith and grassy grain. A dry palate with beer-like qualities, just enough maltiness to keep up. Not a bad go at it, enjoyable to taste. Certainly a brew I would love to revisit.

.33cl standard cap bottle acquired in Zürich, Switzerland, and poured into a Guinness Brewhouse Series true imperial pint glass in me French companion's gaff in Belfort, France. Reviewed live.
A: One finger head, devoid of cream, rather thin, and of average retention. Cloudy dark lemon-yellow colour.
Sm: Muted lemon esters are disturbed by bland hops, a restrained pine note, and pleasant tree resin/sap.
T: Tree sap and resin with pine foundation, slight lemony hints, and a background barley body. The climax brings the best of its notes to an uneven mesh, which doesn't quite feel balanced. Built innovatively, as is common per the style. Fairly complex.
Mf: Nicely coarse and wet, but I would refrain from referring to it as 'refreshing'. Complements the flavours of the body.
Dr: Many beers in this style are low ABV experimental garbage, but this is a fresh innovative attempt at a piney mountain beer. It could be priced better (and worse!), but it's certainly worth a go for seekers of new and exciting flavours in a beer.
