Dos-A-Rita brewed by Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V.. with an ABV of 7.20% This brew pours out a cloudy amber color with a nice white head. The smell of Dos-A-Rita is bitter sweet. This brew put you in the the mind of an energy drink. There is a hit of grains and malts, in the smell of this brew. The taste is bold with flavors of margarita and brew. Not saying that is a bad thing . The mouthfeel of Dos-A-Rita is rich, smooth and full flavored. I like how this brew has a nice real margarita taste to it. Dos-A-Rita is different from most brews on the market, and I like that about this brew. Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma, S.A. de C.V. did a nice job with this one, I would buy this brew again. Overall I'm giving this brew a 3.5 out of 5

Poured from an 8 oz. can. Has a pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of limes, little else. Taste is limes, light sourness, a touch of sweetness at the finish. Feels light in the mouth and overall is a mediocre beer.

Dos Equis Dos-A-Rita
24 oz. can, dated "4089484AF2155"

You can hardly fault Dos Equis for putting out a margarita/beer blend with the exception that they let Anheuser-Busch beat them to it with their Bud Light Lime-A-Rita!

It looks like a beer: hazy golden body, short head of bright white foam, spotty lacing left behind, etc. It smells like a margarita mixed with beer. As might be expected, it also tastes like a margarita mixed with beer, but that's nice because at least with this one it's more than just a malternative, it actually has some beer flavor. It's also a touch less sweet than some. The "natural" lime and tequila flavor is actually pretty good as well, and it's sweetened with 100 percent Agave nectar.

In the end, for a drink of its kind, I find it serves well. It's got to be less calories, and at 7.2 percent you can drink a larger volume than if you we're using tequila, triple sec, and lime.

Appearance: Hazy medium golden color with a moderate, fairly sense snow-white head, which retains well. The carbonation is profuse with thick, patchy lacing.

Aroma: An abundance of sweet lime, lime rind and sugary notes dominate the aroma. I did not detect any malt in the aroma.

Taste: Quite sweet at the onset, with the lime flavors coming across strongly. As the taste progresses a bit, lime rind is evident. Whatever beer flavor is present is well-disguised by the lime and agave sweetness. Some notable alcohol flavors are present, entirely in keeping with the 7.2% ABV. There is some mild hop bitterness at the close of the taste. Overall, this tastes like a lager and lime with too much lime extract.

Mouth feel: Soft and fairly full, with slight stinging carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: Refreshing on a hot summer day, although with the sweet lime, it comes off like an alcopop.

Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-four ounce aluminum can, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
