Bohemia Clasica has a thick, frothy head, which quickly dissipates, and a hazy, yellow appearance. The mild aroma is of barley malt, and the flavor is bready, with a nice hop bitterness showing up in the middle of the sip. Mouth-feel is light to medium, and Bohemia Clasica finishes refreshing and semi-watery. The drinkability with this lager is very good, and I found it to be an above-average Mexican beer. I think it's certainly worth a try.

12 oz. bottle poured into pilsner glass.

A: I love the way this beer looks in the bottle. The bottle has an individual style with simple graphics. Plus the name screams that it should be a great beer. Pours light golden color with no/very little head. Nice czech pilsner carbonation.

S: Having a hard time smelling anything noteworthy. Smells pretty much as I think it should, but then again, I have a horrible nose.

T: More solid than other Mexican beers in my opinion. Slight hoppiness brings forth a bouquet of good flavor. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

M: Feels light in the mouth and easy to drink.

D: Very tasty, and much better than a Corona or Dos Equis. Definitely a very drinkable beer. I would buy this again, most likely to pair with Mexican food.

A: 12 oz bottle. 2 fat fingers head, heavy lacing, light straw in color, slightly cloudy.

S: Very small amount fruit aroma, sort of hard to place. some grain as well, almost smells generic.

T/M: Had light body, stong carbonation.

D: Taste didn't improve with warmth, would probably go great with mexican food.

Appearance: White frothy head. Lacing is there, but fades fast. Golden hay colored beer. Cool bottle.

Smell: Fruity, Heineken-like aroma. Malty sweet aroma.

Taste: Fruity flavored Heineken. Starts fruity and malty. Ends with light dry hops.

Mouthfeel: Tart, slightly puckering. Nice. Has some body and character. But a little watery.

Drinkability: This is a good beer. I would love this for barbecues. Holds up nice and easy to drink. A great all around social beer.

Appearance: Nice golden yellow color. Not much head. Very light carbonation.

Smell: Terrific pale smell reminiscent of a good Czech pilsner. Nice liquory smell somewhat like a white wine. Fruity hints.

Taste: Dry carbonated alcohol taste. Simple but well constructed blend of grains of hops. Taste of corn. This beer could be better. The intention is there but I find the beer somewhat bland.

Mouthfeel: Light. Carbonated. Has a fine finish.

Drinkability: This is an incredibly drinkable beer. It goes down easy. I think it is one of the best Mexican beers and I really appreciate it doing a good job in the Czech style. I will buy it for hanging out or for washing down dinner.

Poured In: Snifter
Attained through a trade

Appearance: The pour is a perfectly clear straw and golden yellow with no head showing up for the fun. The beer is quite effervescent. A few streaks of lace show up on the side of my glass, but not very many.

Smell: The nose picks up some grains, a touch of vanilla as well as some hops. I can't say that I'm particularly fond the nose, though it isn't bad either. I think I'm just not a big pilsener guy.

Taste: The tasting starts off with some slightly toasted cereal grains that quickly leads into bittering brought on by the hops. The finish of this beer is surprisingly hoppy, with some spicy and ever so slight citrus hops linger after each sip. A much better tasting than I expected I must admit.

Mouthfeel: A bit aggressive on the palate, but letting it sit makes it a bit more enjoyable. The beer is thin bodied.

Drinkability: It could definitely be a session beer, though I wouldn't want it to be my session beer. As usual, I'm glad I tried it, though it wouldn't end up in my crate.

Pours with a clear golden straw color and a thin white head that vanishes quickly after the pour. There is no lacing happening at all. Smell is good. Lots of earth tones Picking up floral hops and grainy malts smells a little bit bitter. Reminds me up apple juice. Maybe semi sweet white wine and club soda considering the high carbonation. Although in between these flavors there's floral earthy notes. It goes from sweet to earthy and then finishes a bitter clean and dry. This is quite drinkable. The flavors are balanced well. No flavor is too overpowering. ABV is low. This is a good session for me. This is one of my go to beers when there isnt anything better. Every now and then ill pick up a six pack if i dont feel like going out of my way to my local beer store.

Appearance - Semi-clear yellow to light orange in color. Bright white head that had a combination of large and small bubbles. The head was small even with an aggressive pour and didn't hold long at all. Minimal lacing also.

Smell - Getting some floral hops along with a diminutive impact of grain. Smells clean and fresh. Maybe even a bit of wheat in there also. Only the slightest hints of butter.

Taste - Very well balanced taste of a dry wheat along with small stabs of bitterness. Some grain and citrus finds its way underneath to round out a non-complicated, but favorable and enjoyable flavor.

Mouthfeel - Medium to light mouthfeel. Dry, smooth and crisp. Doesn't cover the palate real well, but the beer does go down very easy.

Drinkability - I was happily surprised by this beer. Not bad at all. This beer would be perfect for Summer in my opiniion. A thirst quencher. It left the glass very quickly and I found myself wanting another. The apppearance was the only thing that hurt the score because of the lack of head and head retention. Cool little bottle too!!!!

This beer has a champagne clean look with a nice bubbly carbonation. Medium head w/med. retention. A citrus smell orange, lemon or both. Taste is good kind of a fuzzy orange. Feels good while drinking and nice and lively. Slight aftertaste. I prefer this beer cold and would drink it in hot or cold weather.

Poured into a pint glass.

A- Pale golden color with virtually no head.

S- Sweet malts, maybe some white grapes.

T- Very sweet. Sugar, some white grapes, sweet malts, syrup, green apples and some grainy bitterness at the end.

M- Flat, thick, syrupy.

D- I can drink a decent amount, but the high sugar content might limit this to a six pack.

Pleasantly surprised with this. Up until tonight, I thought Negra Modelo was the best Mexican macro beer. I found a better one.

12 oz.

Pours an amber gold with a thin white head.

Smells of sweet barley malts.

Tastes similar, with a subtle hop bitterness. Surprising nuance.

Body is moderate with tingly carbonation.

Wasn't expecting this beer to be especially good, but it's a step above the standard Mexican lagers. Quite tasty, pairs well with food, but you could enjoy it alone too.

Clear golden with a dense white head that leaves some decent looking lace on the glass. Slightly above average aroma with untoasted grain, mild noble hops and a faint soapiness. Pretty damn good for a Mexican Pils, creamy and mildly bready with brash hop flavor that sets this apart from standard Mexican fare, must be the dark brown bottle. Smooth and medium bodied with soft carbonation. A nice beer to wash down some enchiladas for sure.

Surprised to see different styles from a Mexican Brewery.

A hard pour leaves almost no head. Deep and slightly hazy golden color. Aroma is an earthy graininess, some light fruitiness as well. Sweet tasting, a bit of fruit in the taste as well. The beer has a decent body and is mildly carbonated.

Not a bad drinkable beer, but not something I'd stick with for an evening.

Golden color, nice head after the pour with thin retention. The smell is fresh, clean, fruit, vanilla. The flavor is good, solid, and refreshing. The mouthfeel is smooth and the carbonation is thin but has the right amount of sharpness. I get vanilla and clean light fruit flavors, and it is true its German heritage. But for all it's strengths, it lacks something vital in the aftertaste department. Yup, that's it: the problem is a bit of papery flavor and a slightly chalky, dry aftertaste. It's like they added some stale hops to an otherwise great beer. It tastes good, but then lets you down a bit in the end. Good beer, not great beer.

Bohemia Clásica Lager

Appearance: Clear golden, some lacing, and a small head.

Smell: Citrusy hops and slight grain.

Taste: Pleasant malts, flowery hops, and citrus flavors (orange and others).

Mouthfeel: Light, smooth, and refreshing.

This is a good session lager that also contains some good flavor. It is very easy to drink. There is not a lingering aftertaste or real bitterness. It is neutral in that respect. I'd think of it as a weak IPA.

Reviewing this as a Mexican Lager not as a German Pils:

Poured into a glass. I had the first few sips without the lime, then I put it in there.

A: Light yellow color, not much head. No lacing or retention once the lime goes in.

S: Mostly bready malts, actually smelled much better than expected. No adjunct or import notes detected.

T: Mostly the same bready malts from the smell. Perhaps a slight bitterness at the end. Not much of a pils. With a lime in it, the beer is really crisp and refreshing. The taste of the beer does a nice job offsetting the flavors of the food.

M/D: average mouthfeel, a bit lighter body than I wanted. The drink-ability is good. But I'll only have one of these with some Mexican food or perhaps a day at the beach.

Clear Yellow beer, good amount of bubbles and head, i loved the hint of bitterness and the aftertaste was in my opinion pleasing, the smell was very nice and it was very drinkable, served very cold would make it a good choise for a hot day.

I would drink it again for sure.

I had decent expectations for this beer because several reading material sources spoke highly of it and I kind of thought it would be one of the better Mexican beers I'd have. Plus I had a fairly difficult time finding it for sale up here in the Northeast so it was kind of a rare treat.

Poured a big 2" head with irregular bubbles which fairly quickly setteled down to just a trace of head. Same clear yellow as the vast majority of American mass produced beers. Taste had malt and was somewhat creamy but otherwise not much happening.

Cool bottle. Forgettable contents.

I found a 6 pk of these 12oz squatty brown bottles at Springbrook Liquors in Bloomingdale, IL for $7.99. It was one of the only Mexican beers I hadn't tried yet. There was no freshness date or any information about the beer on the skinny label, but if your Spanish is any good, the web site will give you tons of information about this beer.

The beer poured a crystal clear medium gold color with a ½-finger of white head that disappears rather quickly, leaving just a thin white rim. It leaves a surprisingly good amount of lacing on the glass with each sip.

The beer gives off a pleasant mild aroma of floral hops and a bit of spiciness.

The taste is good. Sweetness is held to a minimum with floral and spicy hops providing most of the flavor. At just 23 IBU's, you'd have to agree the hops do not impart a harsh bitterness, but are there for mild flavor and nice aroma. There is also a touch of citrusy zest in here to make it even more interesting.

Light and crisp mouthfeel with better than average carbonation.

This is a good Mexican beer and a nice example of a German pilsener. I will have no trouble finishing the other 5 bottles.

Okay so I love Mexican food and I love beer. Unfortunately I can seldom find good beer at Mexican restaurant.

That being said, my waitress poured this into a mug way too gently, enabling no head to form. She then stated, "Couldn't ask for a better pour." I assume she was either mocking me or had no idea how to pour beer. The beer was a pale golden yellow.

The nose was was a little bland. I could only get a little scent of citrus and iron.

The taste also had a nice citrus note to it, plus some malts. Additionally, I was pretty impressed by the floral hoppiness of this beer. It's not bold, but it's there and enjoyable.

The mouthfeel was on the thin side, but it was extremely drinkable. I could have comfortably chugged the whole thing.

As far as beer I can find at Mexican restaurants, I would definitely order this again. It went great with my meal and was very refreshing.

After I fished the lime out of the bottleneck, I poured this into a glass.

Appearance: Pale yellow with a thin white head. So clear you could read a newspaper through it.

Smell: A little malt and fruitiness.

Taste: A little sweet pilsner malt flavor and a small but noticable fruitiness, but not from the lime. Tastes more like apple.

Mouthfeel: Nice and crisp.

Drinkability: A crisp, highly drinkable lager with just enough class to be interesting.

First things first. This is a good beer. It isn't a great beer and it isn't an average beer. And it has style. For any of you readers that may be developing the packaging for a new beer, Bohemia has a great LOOK. The foil, the deco font, the stylized Aztec Indian, the brown/gold/yellow color scheme. This is what a beer bottle is supposed to look like. As opposed to cheeseball Photoshop gradients. I could go on and on about this aspect but that isn't why we are here....

A: (This has stayed in the bottle, so appearance is difficult to evaluate).
S: Bready, a little sweetness. I wouldn't go as far as to say yeasty although you can smell the yeast. No toast smells, and no obvious hoppy or alcoholic odors.
T: Very solid. In a lot of ways this reminds me of Warsteiner Dunkel. It has the right level of maltiness without getting excessive, but there is just a slight flavor of alcohol, which puts it just a notch below the W Dunkel.
M: Clean, maybe a little on the dry side.
D: Good drinkability, but heavy enough that you aren't going to down 4 of these in a row - and that isn't the point. For a beer you would pair with a meal, this is as good as it needs to be.

A- Pours a golden straw with a decent head, though very little in retention or lacing.
S- Smell is very grainy with a bit of faint hops floating about.
T- A bit sweet, but mostly grainy with just enough hops to balance it out. A well balanced flavor but generally not enough volume of flavor for the style.
M- Thin, but not quite watery. crisp carb.
D- A pretty drinkable pilsner. Near the upper end of mexican beers.
