A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin bright white head that died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a bit of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: There are aromas of grainy malts and corn in the nose along with some hints of grassy hops.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste has flavors of grainy malts and is accompanied by a light to moderate amount of bitterness that persists through the taste, but particularly stands out in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation with a bit of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer is a cut above most other standard Mexican lagers and is relatively easy to drink.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into nonic pint glass.

A - Perfectly clear yellow with a finger of white head. The head settles almost as soon as it forms falling to an almost non-existent collar. No lacing.

S - Well, Bohemia at least smells pretty good. Good strong biscuity aroma balanced well with spicy, grassy hops. Simple and clean.

T - Fairly decent stuff. Biscuity flavors head things up with a quick sweetness but move towards a floury/grainy taste. Grass with chive-like accents from the hops take hold late palate with a very mild bitterness and an extremely clean finish. Well balanced overall; the only thing keeping Bohemia from getting a 4 is the restrained character of the (relatively good) flavors at hand.

M - Light bodied, borderline watery, with a somewhat soft carbonation. Obviously this brew was meant to be drank from the bottle in order to retain it's crispness, but this watery, flattish mouthfeel might sort of work in a way. Originally I had this score down at a 2, but now I'm thinking that it might at least be alright. Of course a little more body wouldn't hurt and some degree of crispness is always welcomed in a pilsner, but somehow it's all translating as "smooth" and giving the flavors a great chance to pull through.

D - A decent beer for what it is. Smooth, light, and drinkable, certainly better than a lot of the macros out there. Not my first choice, but far from the worst.

1. clear with a light head that disappears fast

2. faint honey floral smell hops?

3. light crispness and slightly bitter at the end.

4. very smooth almost like tonic water

5. very easy to drink a lot of this.

Okay representation of the style goes well with Mexican food.

Appearance - 1/2" head tops a nicely colored pale yellow beer.

Smell - Hoppy and grain filled scent and some yeast in the background.

Taste - I was not expecting the taste i got. Balanced well with hops, barley and malt. The sweet aftertaste is not over done.

Mouthfeel - Clean and crisp. Another nice summer time beer.

Drinkability - I like it. It has a good flavor for the type of beer it is.

Pours out a dark straw with a good amount of sediment...never seen that before. Nice white head foams up.

Smell. Light malt aroma that is slightly sweet. also has an interesting menthol cooling smell i do not remember.

Taste. Interesting flavor. I'm guessing its the sediment right now giving it the yeasty flavor. But does have just a touch of hop bitterness. Flavor is not bad, just not much to talk about.

Mouthfeel. Body is creamy, but low on carbonation. not bad.

Overall. One of only a small handful of mexican beers i like to drink. No big frills here, but is good enough to enjoy with mexican, or even a six pack at home.

Has a pale gold appearance. Pours with a moderate head that quickly dissipates. Has a faint but agreeable hops aroma. Taste is actually very good, with malt character and a restrained hops presence. Good mouthfeel, with nice carbonation. I think this is a surprisingly good beer, and very drinkable. Also, some extra credit for a really attractive bottle. Distinctive squat brown with gold foil, and a warrior in full headress. One of my favorites.

This is a nicely presented beer in a squat brown bottle with the neck and cap covered in gold foil. The label provides little clue as to the country of origin until one finds the brewer listed in a stripe of the same gold color placed diagonally across the label. The printing in that area is likely a 2 to 4 font, no more. A good looking pour of crystal clear gold beer with a 3/4 inch white foam head completes the appearance. The head vanishes to a thin residue but continues to provide unsticky lace down the glass. Malt nose with a slight hint of hops in the background. Relatively full-bodied feel with slow bubble creation as the glass is drawn down creates slight astringency. Malty sweetness with enough balance to let the grain wander through. Very nice dry finish.

The brewer should shout the origin on the label; this is a decently put together brew worthy of its name. A good food beer, it would range through the spice spectrum quite well.

Bohemia Clasica was a clear yellow color with a tiny white head that disappear as soon a possible. The aroma was a sweet, grainy smell. The taste was a light lemony, grassy flavor. A pretty good balance between malt and hops. The mouth feel was medium bodied with little carbonation. The drinkability was good; ABV, taste and price all reasonable. This was the best beer that I've ever had out of Mexico, which is not saying much, unfortunately.

Standard yellow with zilch for a head.

Aroma gets better marks, with faint vanilla, grainy malt, and very mild spicy hops.

Taste remains decent: Thin but adjunct-free malt backs up sweet and soft vanilla mingling with light pilsner hops.

Delicate but tasty, this might just edge out Negra Modelo next time I go for mexican food.

Told a friend to bring something different for the bar-be-que. Drank one of these after 8 or 9 other beers and stuck two in the van for later. It's later.

Poured a fairly clear yellow without much head that dissipated quickly.

Had a lot of trouble smelling anything. I think it smelled like an empty airplane hangar with me on one side and a banana on the other (the banana probably thinks I stink). My wife said "it smells like Mexico." What the hell?

Flavor is fairly weak, feel was better. Fuller than other Mexican brews, which is definitely a plus, but where's the flaver? I don't have any lime.

Drinkability: chug! chug! chug! Not conducive to sipping at all. On a yardwork day I could pound many, many, many of these. VERY easy to drink, but where's the flavor?

There's something about this beer, maybe it reminds of the days of seeing who could pound the most beers, but this is a lot better than the beers we used to pound (shudder). If I were to go to a Mexican restaurant, this would be my first choice at this time.

Pours a pale gold with 1/4" of bubbly head. Smells of faint adjuncts with notes of faint grass and straw. The taste is light malt with some grassy hops coming through; at times a little like adjuncts and some faint metal. Mouthfeel is light bodied and well carbonated.

This is surprisingly smooth and well blended. This is more than I was expecting.

Appearance: normal looking pale ale: some fizz, golden shower yellow, wimpy head

Smell: Corn, some other grain

Taste: corn, balanced a bit with a touch of hops and malts,

Mouthfeel: medium thin, a bit grainy at the end

Drinkability: This is an easy drinker. It's a little complex but not much. It's a good bad porch drinkin' beer. It vaguely reminds me of Sam Adams but still doesn't come close. Still it serves a different purspose I suppose.

I enjoyed this beer...The bottle itself is very similar to Negra Modela, and the style is also the same
A: Pours a nice healthy gold color with a decent head and minimal lace on the glass

S: Nothing really good on the nose...slight hops and roasted malts are apparent, but not distinctly identifiable

T: Here is where this beer does well...it follows the classic Vienna Lager style, where roasted malts come out, sweetness is apparent but not overdone by any means, and hops are minute

MF: Very clean going down, light/med in body with a good aftertaste

D: Very high, this is a session beer

Clear bubbly yellow with a frothy white head that fades fast and leaves descent lace. It smells of floral and fruity hops, hints of citrus and mild biscuit malts. Very mild with nice touch of floral hops. Very mild and medium bodied. Very easy to drink, but just above average.

Drink this beer staight from the bottle. It was not intended to be poured into a glass. Also, do not add lime or salt to it. That will ruin it. Drink it right from the bottle, and you will get the Vienna-style goodness that these guys intended you to get. A very worthy brew.

This is a nice pilsener-style beer from Mexico which pours a nice golden straw color that you can easily see through. The head vanished pretty quickly. Very slight fruity aroma, with a very clean taste. I enjoyed it, and will even buy it again. An extremely drinkable beer.

Without a doubt my favorite Mexican macro beer...it actually has flavor and a hop scent!

A - Golden yellow with a nice white head and a trace of lace.

S - Certainly not a hop bomb but hey what is that? Oh..hops in the aroma! Nice for a macro beer....then the malty graininess takes over.

T - Crisp, light grain with a twing of a hop bite....nice. Very dry aftertaste.

M - Light and crisp....lacking any real body....disappointing.

D - Nice and smooth with a slight hop bite...wonderful for a Mexican macro. Certainly the only beer I actually look for when in the country! One has to put what you are drinking into perspective.

12 oz.

Pours an amber gold with a thin white head.

Smells of sweet barley malts.

Tastes similar, with a subtle hop bitterness. Surprising nuance.

Body is moderate with tingly carbonation.

Wasn't expecting this beer to be especially good, but it's a step above the standard Mexican lagers. Quite tasty, pairs well with food, but you could enjoy it alone too.

This beer poured yellow with a thin head and a decent amount of visible carbonation. The smell is sweet malt with a tiny bit of hops. The taste is sweet malt with a bit of graininess and that gives way to a pretty small amount of hops and clean finish. The mouthfeel is a pretty watery with a decent amount of carbonation. Where this beer excels is in drinkability, and it is a particularly good companion to spicy food.

Just about the only drinkable beer on the strip in Acapulco last year. Man, that place is _owned_ by Corona. Picked up a bottle when I got home to confirm my impressions. The head is big, white, fizzy and the beer is a clear, clear, pale gold. Spoonky nose, crackers, a little fruit. The front is a little spicy (interesting) with a touch of corn syrup. Fruity, sweetish middle and lightly nutty finish with some nice hops. It's a nice, light, fresh lager.

A-Pours a lightly hazy straw yellow color. Head is bleached and about a quarter inch in height. Head, although small, does retain quite well. Light lacing. Armies of bubbles rise to fuel the head.

S-A bit skunky. Moderate Noble hop grassiness. Also a subtle cracker and corny graininess. Actually smells more legit than I expected it to be. Brings enough to the table.

T-The hops are clean and the skunk is muted to a certain extent. Subtle cracker/dough combination. Lightly spicy on the finish. The hoppiness is pronounced to a very respectable degree (especially for a Mexican import). Flavors work well together.

M-Light bodied with a spritzy carbonation level. Quite drinkable. Mild hop-induced bitterness. Crisp and clean. Barely any metallic flavor.

O/D-Better than expected. Blows other Mexi-brews away. Still, far from anything I would by again (as I only purchased a single). But hey, turns out it was worth trying.

I had this beer at a Mexican restaurant. It really went well with my spicy beef burrito. It poured out with very little head, but plenty of carbonation. It wasn't overly hoppy, but there was something about it that worked perfectly with spicy food. It also wasn't too heavy, which made it good for a dinner beer. Not a bad session beer, but not something i would go out of the way for either.

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pint glass.

Appearance: pours a 1" frothy white head that rapidly recedes with some mild lacing. Color is clear light gold with moderate streaming bubbles.

Aroma: fairly mild, but pickup some yeast, biscuit, and a bit of herbal hops.

Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied, somewhat oily with a quite dry finish.

Flavor: biscuit and cracker, a bit of fruit and lemon in the finish.

Overall: enjoyable and well made to the style. Nothing off-putting.

Foil capped brown bottle poured into a pils. glass. Pours a yellow straw and quite clear, sporting a thin cap of white foam. Carbonation is light, yielding short to moderate retention.

Nose of slightly sweet and of lemony grain. Clean and straight forward with just a bit of perceived depth and texture. A bit of earthy musk with warming.

Taste is quite as expected from the aroma. Pleasant and slightly bready in texture, pinch of noble hops and a bit firmer carbonation on the tongue than the appearance would imply. Finish offers a bit of hop spice but is a bit thin in the delivery.
Apparently the light texture/carbonation leaves the feel a bit watery at times, though a good swirl and warming improves it somewhat.

A decent Pils. Not as robust as many but good stuff from South of the Border.

Poured In: Snifter
Attained through a trade

Appearance: The pour is a perfectly clear straw and golden yellow with no head showing up for the fun. The beer is quite effervescent. A few streaks of lace show up on the side of my glass, but not very many.

Smell: The nose picks up some grains, a touch of vanilla as well as some hops. I can't say that I'm particularly fond the nose, though it isn't bad either. I think I'm just not a big pilsener guy.

Taste: The tasting starts off with some slightly toasted cereal grains that quickly leads into bittering brought on by the hops. The finish of this beer is surprisingly hoppy, with some spicy and ever so slight citrus hops linger after each sip. A much better tasting than I expected I must admit.

Mouthfeel: A bit aggressive on the palate, but letting it sit makes it a bit more enjoyable. The beer is thin bodied.

Drinkability: It could definitely be a session beer, though I wouldn't want it to be my session beer. As usual, I'm glad I tried it, though it wouldn't end up in my crate.
