Very impressed with Bohemia. I really hope it catches on as a Mexican beer, because it steps up the beer game. It is a favorite of mine for many reasons.
The smell is good. The taste is unique...a hint of potency, and a hint of sweet. Similar to Negra Modelo, but has its own style for sure. I always look twice in the stores just to make sure I didn't pass it up. I really enjoy Bohemia, there is no doubt about it. (416 characters)

Foil capped brown bottle poured into a pils. glass. Pours a yellow straw and quite clear, sporting a thin cap of white foam. Carbonation is light, yielding short to moderate retention.

Nose of slightly sweet and of lemony grain. Clean and straight forward with just a bit of perceived depth and texture. A bit of earthy musk with warming.

Taste is quite as expected from the aroma. Pleasant and slightly bready in texture, pinch of noble hops and a bit firmer carbonation on the tongue than the appearance would imply. Finish offers a bit of hop spice but is a bit thin in the delivery.
Apparently the light texture/carbonation leaves the feel a bit watery at times, though a good swirl and warming improves it somewhat.

A decent Pils. Not as robust as many but good stuff from South of the Border. (803 characters)

Poured from a bottle into a Pilsener glass.

Look - pale golden color, clear, with about 2 fingers worth of foam that dissipates somewhat quickly.

Smell - sharp and hoppy smelling. Also a little floral-like.

Taste and Mouthfeel - good taste for a pilsner, a little musky, but not overbearing. Clean taste with a little bite in the finish. The texture is pretty well-balanced.

Overall - not a bad brew, although I'm not a huge fan of Pilseners. (447 characters)

Little over a finger of pure, blinding white foam, lacks density and with a good portion of larger bubbles resolves down to the surface rapidly, you get a little residual concentration along the glass sides, the lacing is minimal but not nonexistent. Golden colored liquid of credible depth and solid throughout, even darker when peering down into the glass, the small bubbles well dispersed. Straw, sweet grains and corn make up a good portion of the nose, however, it’s not simple nor obvious, has a fine quality which slowly draws out pepper, orange peel as well as peach, apple, pear scents, not that sweet while also avoiding any bitter greenness. Light-bodied with a steady, refreshing carbonation which scrubs the palate. The orange, lemon citrus plays to this nicely, as does the pepper to light clove spice and pressed flowers. Shade of natural country bread but not yeasty, more crunchy in feel. The apricot, peach, apple fruit close to evanescent. Maybe, just maybe, a dollop of honey. Again, more humbly constructed than simple, just a beer trying to be a beer. (1,075 characters)

A: The beer pours a clear golden color with a fizzy white head that displays only mild retention.

S: Pretty nice nose to this beer. Some definite corn aromas to it but plenty of bread and malt notes to it as well. Only a hint of hop character which is lightly floral and spicy.

T: A solid sweetness to the flavor which is mostly bready in nature and has a hint of toast to it. Mild yeast and corn flavors with minimal hop bitterness and flavor.

M: Light to medium in body with a medium level of carbonation.

O: It's been a long time since I've had this beer and I was very pleasantly surprised by it. Quite an enjoyable beverage. (633 characters)

Pours a straw yellow hue with ample carbonation and a pencil thin soft white head. The smell is crisp and grassy with mild hop presence and a moderate malt backbone. The taste is ver refreshing and quite crisp, with a slight pleasent grassyness and faint hop bitterness. Overall, Im loving this beer. (300 characters)

At Old Chi's on the mini tour. Pourd a yellow fizzy color (don't ALL Mexican beers do this?). No aroma that I could pick up. Taste was actually a surpirse: a little bit of malt, not overpowering sweetness, but, alas, no hop presence.
I guess after a day mowing the lawn in 90 degree heat it might suffice but I'll pass. NOT offensive but little there. (351 characters)

From a bottle.
A a pale yellow color.
S a sweet smelling nose that lacks complexity but isn't bad for the style.
T has a light taste with notes of sweet grain.
M very light drinkable mouthfeel.

Overall this is a nice pilsner. Easy to drink and not a bad choice for a session beer (284 characters)

For a German Pilsner I felt that this wasn't too bad. With not being a huge fan of Pilsners I wasn't expecting to enjoy this at all. The beer is a moderately good with some good hop and malts on the nose. The Color is a typical yellow with a white white that fades off within a few sips. The mouthfeel is decent with some good carbonation keeping it real and lighter bodied to keep is refreshing. Not too bad of a beer. (419 characters)

Pours an oddly green-tinged yellow, flat top but mega-fizzy. Clear, thin-looking, bland.

Smells revoltingly sweet. Lots of corn grain with brown sugar and little else. Just bland and sweet. While I'm surprised that it has a smell, it's not pleasantly so. It's like when you first discovered Lady Gaga had a penis. It may or may not have been a surprise, but it certainly wasn't a pleasant one.

Taste is less sweet, thankfully. Still mostly bland though - watery on the assault that gets a bit sweet, bordering on malty, towards the mid, a touch of cereal grain on there that becomes slightly tart towards the back. Touch of vanilla late is the most interesting thing, but it can't save an otherwise very bland palate.

Bit of texture on the feel but still pretty thin. Carbonation tingle is not overblown though.

There seems to be a noticeable effort put into this beer that isn't present in most bland Mexican lagers. But it's not enough for me not to lump this in with all the others as uninspiring, insipid swill. (1,019 characters)

This is one of a kind in the fact it stands out among mexican beers as more European type beer (Most commonly considered a Vienna style) but still retains a dominant focus on mexican beer culture: It copes with the heat.

Translucent gold with a thin layer of foam on the top of your glass in the same fashion some of the European lagers this beer can be associated with, the smell and taste are gentle and perhaps faint for some tastes yet the the sensation is what stads out: It is quite soft as it goes down and it is quite refreshing served cold on an iced pint on a very hot day, and it pretty much goes with any spicy food or meat dish. (642 characters)

Clear bubbly yellow with a frothy white head that fades fast and leaves descent lace. It smells of floral and fruity hops, hints of citrus and mild biscuit malts. Very mild with nice touch of floral hops. Very mild and medium bodied. Very easy to drink, but just above average. (277 characters)

Thin white head. Sickly pale straw body. Corn and nut smell. Tastes, in order of intensity, like Crayon, tobacco, and wet paper. Not refreshing in any way. The flavors are not pleasant. Perhaps I just got a bad bottle. I'll give it another shot some day because I really feel this is very unenjoyable. The first thing that came to my mind was "Is this just supposed to be the style?" (383 characters)

Golden crystal clear appearance with a quickly disappearing head. A little perfume and herbs in a clean aroma. The taste hits you with a nice balance of flower, hops and malt that combined with the perfume makes a nice light but tasty beer with a smooth finish.
Yes, mass-produced from a company that makes a lot of horrible beers but this one has its legacy and it is still good and my choice when only Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma beers are available.
Regular company for my "normal" day food. (488 characters)

From notes at Old Chicago (2001): Poured from bottle into pint glass. Pours medium yellow with small bubbly white head, nicely chasing bubbles. Nose is sharp clean hops and slightly acrid malt. The flavor begins with a mild vegetal hops bite that segues into a slightly acrid bitterness. Rather thin mouthfeel. Not a bad beer at all. (333 characters)

This is a nice pilsener-style beer from Mexico which pours a nice golden straw color that you can easily see through. The head vanished pretty quickly. Very slight fruity aroma, with a very clean taste. I enjoyed it, and will even buy it again. An extremely drinkable beer. (273 characters)

Bohemia Clasica has a thick, frothy head, which quickly dissipates, and a hazy, yellow appearance. The mild aroma is of barley malt, and the flavor is bready, with a nice hop bitterness showing up in the middle of the sip. Mouth-feel is light to medium, and Bohemia Clasica finishes refreshing and semi-watery. The drinkability with this lager is very good, and I found it to be an above-average Mexican beer. I think it's certainly worth a try.

12 oz. bottle poured into pilsner glass.

A: I love the way this beer looks in the bottle. The bottle has an individual style with simple graphics. Plus the name screams that it should be a great beer. Pours light golden color with no/very little head. Nice czech pilsner carbonation.

S: Having a hard time smelling anything noteworthy. Smells pretty much as I think it should, but then again, I have a horrible nose.

T: More solid than other Mexican beers in my opinion. Slight hoppiness brings forth a bouquet of good flavor. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

M: Feels light in the mouth and easy to drink.

D: Very tasty, and much better than a Corona or Dos Equis. Definitely a very drinkable beer. I would buy this again, most likely to pair with Mexican food. (765 characters)

S: Very small amount fruit aroma, sort of hard to place. some grain as well, almost smells generic.

T/M: Had light body, stong carbonation.

D: Taste didn't improve with warmth, would probably go great with mexican food. (312 characters)

Appearance: White frothy head. Lacing is there, but fades fast. Golden hay colored beer. Cool bottle.

Smell: Fruity, Heineken-like aroma. Malty sweet aroma.

Taste: Fruity flavored Heineken. Starts fruity and malty. Ends with light dry hops.

Mouthfeel: Tart, slightly puckering. Nice. Has some body and character. But a little watery.

Drinkability: This is a good beer. I would love this for barbecues. Holds up nice and easy to drink. A great all around social beer. (470 characters)

Appearance: Nice golden yellow color. Not much head. Very light carbonation.

Smell: Terrific pale smell reminiscent of a good Czech pilsner. Nice liquory smell somewhat like a white wine. Fruity hints.

Taste: Dry carbonated alcohol taste. Simple but well constructed blend of grains of hops. Taste of corn. This beer could be better. The intention is there but I find the beer somewhat bland.

Mouthfeel: Light. Carbonated. Has a fine finish.

Drinkability: This is an incredibly drinkable beer. It goes down easy. I think it is one of the best Mexican beers and I really appreciate it doing a good job in the Czech style. I will buy it for hanging out or for washing down dinner. (684 characters)

Poured In: Snifter
Attained through a trade

Appearance: The pour is a perfectly clear straw and golden yellow with no head showing up for the fun. The beer is quite effervescent. A few streaks of lace show up on the side of my glass, but not very many.

Smell: The nose picks up some grains, a touch of vanilla as well as some hops. I can't say that I'm particularly fond the nose, though it isn't bad either. I think I'm just not a big pilsener guy.

Taste: The tasting starts off with some slightly toasted cereal grains that quickly leads into bittering brought on by the hops. The finish of this beer is surprisingly hoppy, with some spicy and ever so slight citrus hops linger after each sip. A much better tasting than I expected I must admit.

Mouthfeel: A bit aggressive on the palate, but letting it sit makes it a bit more enjoyable. The beer is thin bodied.

Drinkability: It could definitely be a session beer, though I wouldn't want it to be my session beer. As usual, I'm glad I tried it, though it wouldn't end up in my crate. (1,042 characters)
