A good sized tan head tops the pour, which is a very clear, copper-colored amber and active with carbonation.
Wet laundry drying in a sunny breeze comes to mind in the aroma for some reason. Not a bad thing though, probably just some old sensory memory. Hints of caramel malts and wood fired pizza dough also detected.
Well received in the mouth, a modestly robust grain bill gives a good depth of flavor. While not overt, the hops give a sharp definition to the hazelnut and caramel notes coming through in the aftertaste.
It strikes a nice balance in my belly with some fresh tortilla chips and salsa fresca.
