A rough pour gives us a crystal clear brew of the lightest pale straw color. The head is two fingers of white foamy bubbles that disappear entirely within moments, without a trace. The carbonation is active and there is a lack of any sediment or haze. Any aromatics present are faint, with light malts, metallics, and corn coming through the most. The grain bill is presented at the very front of the taste. Surprisingly, it begins with a grainy, and significantly corny, flavor. The middle is hollow, with shells of the front mixing with a slight bitterness. The finish is metallic, with a tinge of sour (is that hops?!) to carry it through to the aftertaste. The body is light, but the carbonation is highly apparent. The beer's feel is thin and watery, as it neglects the mouth and glides straight down the throat, with little palpable satisfaction. The drinkability is fair due to simplicity.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this beer was the standard appearance and the "chuggable" drinkability. While many of these adjunct lagers use corn, it is rarely exhibited so forwardly in the taste, as it is here, leading to a bland, unremarkable brew. For the style, it passes, but is not necessarily delectable by any means.

Not horrible. But it's a refreshing easy going beer.

Appearance – Clear yellow body with a small up and down head.

Smell – Light grain aroma but not much else.

Taste – There’s actually some hops in there to balance out the malt and (mostly) grain flavors. No beginning, middle, and finish here – just the one hit of taste then you’re done.

Mouthfeel – Nicely carbonated and fairly smooth.

Drinkability – It’s made to drink ice cold in the heat with a lime, so drink it ice cold in the heat with a lime.

It has a slight distinct taste from other macro lagers out there. Overall, for what it is, it's pretty good. Doesn't taste or smell skunky like other macros out there. Maybe not the best macro lager but not bad either. Taste is good, but mouth feel could be better. Overall worth a try if you're into macro lagers

Fairly typical pale lager that's drinkable & more substantial than others in its class.

Great smooth Mexican beer. Perfect on a hot day refreshing.
Everything doesn't need to be a hipster craft beer to get a good rating

Just Mexican Budweiser. Bad beer and slam a lime in it to make it go down

Drunk from a 355 mL can (stamped "210715") while at Hyatt Ziva in Puerto Vallarta. Light flavored with basic grainy malt body, cooked corn and mild hop spice and bitterness. Light to medium body and decent carbonation. Another drinkable lager, great for sun and beach, but nothing special.

This is a decent lager. I can't say anything bad about it. If you're biased towards to Mexican beer, such as Corona, make sure to leave that aside. This beer has a bad rep, but it sits well, and is good for having on the deck in the summer. That being said, there are many more better choices.

When you go to a mexican restaurant and the waiter tells you that they have dos equis, be sure its "ambar" (amber) or better drink something else.

pours what you kind of expect an adjunct lager to pour. with this being said it definitely leads the pack in this category. Personally not a fan of beers that requires something like a lime to be drinkable.

They should just make the Amber and call it a day.

When compared to the most common Mexican beers and even the macro American stuff, this is consistent and a cold can is always welcomed.

I think I'M the most interesting man in the world. I don't often drink adjunct lagers, but when I do, I definitely do NOT prefer Dos Equis. This beer is not even close to being interesting, so don't stay thirsty my friends for this beer. Save your money and buy a better and lower priced AAL, my friends.

Light and crisp, similar to Corona, but I think a bit more flavor. Always best with a wedge of lime and a pinch of salt. Easy to find.

I don't hear too many positive reviews about Mexican beers, but I kinda like them. I can't imagine eating a nice Mexican dinner with a Heineken. Dos Equis is the perfect brew for that occasion. It's light and has just the right amount of that South O' the border maltiness. A twist of lime and you are set. Enjoy.

Brilliant straw color. Generous foamy 2 finger white head, lasting 2 -3 minutes, strong legs and high activity.

Faint flavors and aromas of corn, saaz, citrus, with slight skunky and metallic smell.
Sharp with hints of sugar and a smoky feel.

Light body with excessive prickly carbonation. Faint and short finish on the bitter end with a lemony aftertaste.

Overall : Poor flavors, too watery, and a little stale.

Dos Equis Special Lager is a mild pilsner with a mild flavor and a slight hop bitterness. Don't look for robust flavor. What you find is a crisp refreshing light ale that is great for the hot but breezy sun of Cancun. Light on the palate and very drinkable.

Dos Equis Special Lager is a beer that is best drank within it's environment just like Balashi from Aruba is. Reminds me of a less skunky Heineken. The pickin' is slim in Cancun so this is my top beer choice, even over Corona.
