12oz bottle into tasting glass.

A: Pours a classic lager appearance, a foamy white ahead that has a finger formation and very good head retention. The body is a pale straw color, with a very whirlwind like carbonation flow. The lacing is left in a layer swaths.

S: Aroma is a very light note of crisp Pilsen malt and a bit of low level spice. Medium level of intensity for the aroma.

T/ M: The brew is clean and crisp, not too much in the way of bold flavors, just a bit of biscuit and light malt character in the front. The body is very light, allowing the carbonation to fill the mouthfeel. Linger is short and not too much new flavors that were not all ready explored before.

O: overall for a south of the border lager is is not too bad, light and refreshing, while still having a bit of flavor.

Served on draught into a Frosted Mug at On The Border in Denver, Colorado. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a 3.5 finger head of slight cream, bad thickness, and decent retention. Colour is a clear yellow.

Sm: A very light scent of only clean barley.

T: Clean barley, decently handled malt, and light cream on the climax. Simple but balanced. Unrefreshing. I'm glad the malt isn't intrusive like in most Spanish lagers.

Mf: Smooth and wet. Overly so on each count. Doesn't complement the flavours.

Dr: Very drinkable and pairs well with Mexican food. The price is high and the quality is low.

Preface to this review:
I was at a crowded bar and this was the easiest thing to order because it was on special. I had never had one and was bored and curious.

A-Almost transparent, light hay colored water with lots of bubbles. Kind of looks like a coke that has been watered down by ice.

S/T-Rather metallic, I guess that is why they give you a lime. Really though, I could taste nothing before adding the lime.

M-Kind of refreshing. Goes down very smooth and I guess does exactly what it is supposed to. Modest carbonation and does not have a bad flavor (nor a good one though).

O-This beer is designed for drinking mass quantities of so for what it's worth it is pretty easy to get down. It is better than many other adjunct lagers but does not really add anything. I would say it is better than other domestics but is not very useful for anything besides a hot summer day.

Poured from bottle into pint glass.

A: Pours a light gold with a thin bubbly head that dissipates and leaves little to no lacing. Active carbonation makes its way to the top.

S: Mostly grain with some hops and a little sweetness.

T: Taste is surprisingly better than the smell. Very crisp and earthy. You can taste the malt/grain, some sweetness like citrus. Not an offensive taste, but nothing that will knock you off your feet.

M: Very crisp and refreshing. Carbonation is good and coating is good. Decent wet aftertaste.

O: Not a bad beer. It is crisp and easy to drink. A good alternative to the common beers.

A - Straw colored with a quickly fading bright white head and lots of bubbles.

S - Smells of grain and maybe some hops and malt.

T - Like the smell, mostly grains with maybe some malt and hops in the background. Not a lot of flavor either.

M - Light body with good carbonation, very drinkable.

O - Perhaps better than your typical macro, but still not very good.

Poured out of 12 oz bottle into standard pint glass.

A) A fairly deep yellow. I think what I'm trying to say, is I thought it be lighter. I think this is the first time I looked at this brew, as it is usually consumed direct from the bottle with the standard lime wedge. There was about a half inch of white foam.

S) I'd say average for the style. There was grain, corn, and mild sweetness on the nose.

T) There is nothing at all offensive about the taste. It's actually not to bad, even without the lime. There is a little sweetness in there and a kind of grassy finish.

M) Pretty light, and fairly crisp. The carbonation is not over done. It is a pretty refreshing lager.

O) I don't always drink lagers produced in Mexico, but when I do....

Consumed from a bottle at my favorite Mexican restaurant, Torrero's in Raleigh

I have nothing to offer in terms of appearance except to say that through the bottle it looks quite pale. Smell is of adjuncts, corn and grains, but with an additional sweetness coming through. Taste is bland but sweet with a surprising apple overtone. Mouthfeel is light and crisp; very refreshing on this 100 degree day.

Overall, its not a bad beer. I prefer it to it's amber counterpart, and it's definitely one of the better adjunct lagers out there.

Of the American adjunct lager category, there's not a lot of good to say. A whole lot of cheap beer, designed for drinking quantity, not real enjoyment.

Drank from the bottle at a favorite Mexican food joint.

A: Light in color as you'd expect. Nothing special, though I drank from the bottle so I can't comment on the head.

S: Corn adjunct is obviously present. Other than that, smells rather blah and generic.

T: Not much. Light lager flavors plus the corn adjunct flavor. Very easy to drink, though. Some adjuncts create a very annoying flavor profile, or are even overwhelming to the point that the beer becomes offensive. This beer is completely inoffensive in flavor. There's only a little to like, but absolutely nothing to really dislike here, in my opinion.

M: Very smooth. Extremely drinkable. Carbonation is present, but doesn't create an obstruction to drinking quickly.

O: Smooth and inoffensive, this is my choice with light Mexican fair, especially considering most cheap Mexican restaurants don't have any better offerings. Helps when eating the really spicy stuff just fine, too, which I love.

Pours a golden-yellow color and smells of grain, grasses and perhaps some citrus. Flavor is fairly mild and watery with a sweet, grain and citrus flavor. Finish is slightly bitter, yet pleasant tasting. Drank this at a birthday BBQ and it really hit the spot, though if you’re looking for complexity, look elsewhere.

I love this cerveza!I have tried a few spanish brews that I have not been impressed. It smell like a little skunky, but the taste is great. Mouthfeel is like a bud and this beer is very balanced and easy to drink. Try this beer and you will not be mad with yourself!

Pours medium gold with a foamy white head. No lace.

Some grass and light malt, a little skunk, a little mineral.

Some malt with a little corn sweetness, some light green veggie bitterness, or leafy notes, light bitter finish, fairly clean. Some mouth-sourness in the end, but not as much as some other adjuncts.

This one has some body, and some good carbonation. The body makes this more palatable.

Not horrific for the style, but I find that this could be better. Wanted some crisp edges. Got some bitter edges, but some sugars where I didn't want them. Skunk is skunk, and the nose wasn't so overpowering to make this entirely off-putting. But this is middle of the road American Adjunct.

Okay I was handed this beer as my brother-in-law was leaving the bar. He likes it I could care less. I was drinking a Sierra Nevada torpedo at the time. Green bottle and green bottle I coould not tell and almost spewed when I took a swig. Wow the beer smells like a skunk. Taste way to much like a lime and a bad one at that. I would never purposly seek this beer out but I will say I will take it over a corona any day of the week.

Bottle to clear dixie
12 oz

App- Super clear yellow with almost a ring of bubbles. No head really, no cling.

Smell- Its a lager for sure but thats about it. Smallish grain like corn.

Taste- Okay, im being serious when I say this. Tastes like a tortilla chip. Corn and lime.

Mouth- Medium bodied and high carbed.

Drink- it is what it is. Low abv low flavor for the masses

A: Pours an extremely light yellow color with a small white foam head that quickly dissipates into nothing.

S: Small amounts of toasted grains, white bread and a oh so small amount of citrus.

T: Starts and finishes with a clean toasted bread taste with a mild undertone of lemon.

M: A light bodied beer with a decent amount of carbonation. Comes off a little watery but still a crisp taste.

O: This is a decent option for a picnic on a warm summer day. A little more flavor than most Adjuncts.

Now, I am starting to come full circle, having eschewed beer in a bottle in favor of CANned beer, bottle be returning to CANs very shortly, I CAN promise you. In the meantime, stay thirsty my friends!

From the bottle: "Crafted in Mexico since 1897 to commemorate the arrival of the 'XX' century, 'Dos Equis' stands for 'Two X's' in Spanish. In our second century of fine brewing tradition, we continue offering Dos Equis Lager, a very refreshing, golden aromatic Pilsner-style lager. A true Mexican work of art."

Okay, first off, what Diego Rivera and Frieda Kahlo produced were "true Mexican work[s] of art", this is just a simple beer. Second, if you need to have the beer's name translated for you, I can only shake my head in disbelief. It's right there on the label and it does not "stand for", it actually means Two X's! End of rant.

My pour netted me a finger of foaming, fizzy, bone-white head with lousy retention. Color was a pale lemon-yellow with NE-quality clarity. Nose had the all too-familiar cereal quality associated with AALs. Mouthfeel was thin with the light lager taste that is a staple of the style. Finish was refreshing, sure, but it was cold and it is a hot day, so water might be equally refreshing. It was not bad, but it was simply a standard interpretation of a lesser style.

Not bad looking for the style, yellow and fizzy with a decent enough, head although it didn't last that long, and spotty lacing.

Smelled fresh and grainy, pleasant but not very strong.

Tasted decent enough, although there's not all that much flavor. Grains and adjuncts seemed to dominate.

Feel wise this beer was up there for the category. On tap it was no world class beer, but that didn't matter. Light and well carbonated. Poundably drinkable.

On a hot summer day when you're at the airport in San Antonio, no complaints here. It is what it is, and that's not bad.

Had this in a bottle for the first time today. They are sponsoring an event I am going to later this year and it will be the only beer served so I figured I better figure out if I like it.

I like it alot, it is nothing special but very drinkable, and has a solid taste. The only problem is that I can get just as good a beer for way less. I would definetly drink this beer again and will enjoy several at the event Im going to.

Appearance is an amber color with a paltry white head that disappears quickly. I couldn't pick up much scent, maybe some very weak bread, but at least there's nothing funky going on here. Taste was surprisingly decent for an AAL. Malt flavors with a slight hint of lemon or lime, a little sweetness, and a buttery taste in the finish and aftertaste. Mouthfeel is thin. Quite refreshing and drinkable, and goes great with some Mexican food. If your beer choices are slim, this isn't a bad choice to make compared to other AALs.

Had this on tap 10 minutes ago, for some reason I wanted to drink one hoping that it would be good, and It sucked, shoulda ordered another Sam.

Appearance-Very pale golden yellow, not signs of life in there. No head, although I got a little lacing.

Smell-Grainy and Corny, was trying to sniff out some citrus, hops or earthy tones, and nothing.

Taste-Nothing really going on, just get alot of carbonation. You get the typical American Adjunct Lager gross taste upfront, finish was kind of clean. Nothing at all.

Mouthfeel-Light bodied, tons of carbonation, gassy. I felt bloated halfway through.

Overall-The most interesting man in the world should stick to whatever other beverage he drinks, this beer sucks.

Brilliantly clear pale straw colow with a thin (1/8") bone white head. Moderate visible uprising carbonation. Lackluster but refreshing appearance.

Crisp, slightly citric nose with a clean, crackery scent. Plain looks, but beckons to be quaffed.

A culmination of all the aforementioned elements above. Saltine crackers - Check. Crisp and slightly lemony (citric) - Check. Clean but a bit lackluster - Check.

Light bodied and the appropriate amount of good and solid carbonation. Little flavor in the crisp finish.

Overall a utilitarian lager that does the job on a 90F+ early evening. The first one I had as soon as I got home from work actually delivered more simple satisfaction straight outta the green bottle. This one isn't to be disected/pondered.

Appearance - not an inch of head. dies quick. urine in color

Taste - light corn sugar, watery, not much there, im searching.

Mouthfeel - best thing about this beer, its like what and quenches my summer hotness

A very clear, pale gold with a short-lived snow-white head. It would look better with some head retention.

The aroma is metallic and grainy. A definite corn aroma.

Light-bodied. Very thin, almost watery. Plenty of carbonation bite but very little flavor. The flavor that's there is slightly sweet with a lightly bitter, dry, crisp finish. Good finish but not much else.

It's not terrible but it really has no life to it. The only thing going for it is the crisp finish. It's not a beer I would seek out.

Beer poured from bottle into hour-figure pint glass

A - Golden colored body; one finger head formed; barely any lacing formed on the side of the glass; beer poured with a moderate amount of visible carbonation

S - Corn, grains, nothing overwhelming and quite frankly I was not impressed with the lack of any noticeable scent of uniqueness; smelled like a regular adjunct lager

T - Corn and grainy, touch of sweetness and some sour notes; like a lemon; typical adjunct lager; slightly fruity and very light flavor or texture

M - Thin and runny; not much body

D - Typical mass produced and mass-marketed beer; makes a good beer to drink in the summer time under the sun

Poured a perfectly clear yellow gold with a bone white head that diminished, but did not disappear. It smells metallic, of corn and cereal grains. It has a good deal of carbonation. The taste is of dry, bland, bread. I often don't mind if my beer just tastes like bread, but this doesn't taste like very good bread. Though, I've had worse. It's a tad bit starchy. The dryness is notable. It's definitely not overly sweet like many adjunct lagers, but the taste is disagreeable. I'm not buying this again. I'll be sticking with Sol as my Mexican beer of choice.
