Born in the heart of Mexico in 1899, Sol is a bright and refreshing lager.
It’s inspired by the sun and brewed to shine just like those who drink it. The ones that radiate good vibes, that lighten the mood and always look at life on the bright side. The ones who not only shine, but shine their way.

A Christmas present in 2023, drunk in January 2024.
L: Looking-glass clear with a thin rim of foam and lots of big-bubbled carbonation in the glass.
S: Some light and dry biscuity malt and perhaps the slightest touch of citric hops, but only to the extent that some hops might have been waved in the general direction of the kettle...
T: Very clean, with a lemony note and then a buttery overwash from the malt on the swallow. There is a long but mild, citrusy finish. There is none of the cardboard that I was actively searching for and no watery, tepid finish that can characterise macro Mexican Cervezas. There was, however, an increasing buttery note as the beer warmed.
M: Mouthfeel is mild and carbonation is minimal, as befitting a beer to be drunk in a hot climate.
O: I haven't looked at any reviews before typing this one, but I suspect this beer will be largely panned. It's actually a pretty good cerveza in my opinion (for what that's worth!), and while it would probably be nicer with a wedge of lime in it, that's actually the point with these beers!
Cheers!

Clear golden with an initial bright white head that stuck around for a few minutes.
Skunky adjunct aroma
Initially pretty nondescript lager flavors but the went in an unpleasant vegetal direction
Light feel consistent with style, drinkable.
Fine for what it is.

I may drink too much. Choice of alcohol is lager beers, that's it. Have tried most oof them except the crappy ones like Natural Ice. Lots of Bud Light and Modelo and Corona. This beer tastes like nothing to me, but tastes like something good that doesn't taste like any other lager out there. I really like Modelo but this beer is even easier to drink for me, has a flavor that is not crappy, but there is no flavor to it that makes it very easy to crush for me.

From a clear bottle dates 02/24. Pours a nice gold colour, head doesn't last. Smell is wet grains and some malt, taste is sweeter with grain/some light white bread. Good for style.

New Mexican lager to me! Clear 12oz bottle accompanying my Chile Colorado...pale straw-colored and completely transparent with minimal head and lacing. Adjunct sweetness shines though, not altogether bad...grains, sweet malts...not mad at this for a Mexican-food companion.

I was surprised I had not reviewed this beer before. Poured from a bottle into a tall pint glass. Clear yellow color with decent initial white head and lacing. Doesn’t smell like much, a bit of corn. Taste is boring, corny but slightly refreshing. Very thin. Rather have a Corona.

calling this stuff beer is like calling a veggie burger a steak.
However, due to the low alcohol content, it might be not too bad on a very hot day.
